The story is quite simple but it's entertaining. There isn't much depth to anything but it's super sweet and silly. No big villains or huge misunderstandings.

But then, it is less an issue of age gap than power dynamics within the relationship. It was clearly unbalanced, that's true, tho she was working towards her independence again.
Haven't seen Oh My Lady so I couldn't say ;)

I laughed hard for the Goblin one cos I felt the awkwardness as well (tho I looked passed it easily and even rewatch the drama now and then).
But I do not see what you saw in Romance Is A Bonus Book. It never even occurred to me that the age gap was an issue, funny how different viewer's perceptions can be ^_^

Such a freaking good article ! You basically summed up how a lot of us feel about hype. While reading your article, so many dramas popped in my mind.

- Seriously annoying : IONTBO - lately 70% of the feeds posts are about it, so I've been avoiding feeds on it's airing days. This point makes me a hypocrite for the next point lol.
- Community : TKEM - It was all fine with me when the feeds were filled with TKEM memes and posts because it was exhilarating to react with everybody and, let's be honest, collectively trash on the show a bit (while still enjoying it).
- Grabbed my attention : TU - The gif was appropriate as it is The Untamed. I only tried it because of the hype. I was not into c-dramas and the fantasy genre is still not my favourite. But this drama now holds a special place in my heart.

Yeah that's what I gathered from the many different opinions on The K2 x))

I tend to match more with your opinions @Jeana (except for Goblin). Even the dramas I haven't watched, I'm refusing to do so because of the reasons you expressed (except The K2, there's no way I'm watching it xD ).
-Suspicious Partner was one of my first time-wasting drama and I'm still bitter to this day. I'm seriously waiting for JCW to choose better scripts.
-I'm definitely not watching Her Private Life because I don't feel like seeing yet another PMY drama with the shared childhood trope. She's typed cast at this point.
-But like @Minarii, Goblin holds a special spot in my heart that makes me look past anything ❤︎ (except the romance, I'll pretend till my death bed that it was just a nice bro-sismance).

This article came in at the perfect timing as I'm trying to branch out from Thai BLs. So far I've tried to watch My Husband In Law but it was a miss for me. I'll do what you suggested and not stop after the first try. I have to say tho, it's been quite a genre shock for me lol. Lakorns seem to have their own codes and tropes that are so far from what I'm used to.
