I'm so happy that he is finally getting the attention he deserves! For so many years since I've seen him in Rooftop Prince, even though I haven't seen many of his works, I would hope for him to blow up. His time has come :D
Finally that now our article has finished you got a chance to watch dramas again ;D... yeah I was actually surprised…
Haha I didn't want to mention the negative parts of the show XD but I definitely know what you mean. I think I had a bit more expectations for the "mysterious" part and some other things. But I feel like nowadays it's hard to get away from tropes. I think it's doable for me as long as I don't cringe from it

Yes! :D It's so nice to catch up because I feel really behind and once I'm behind, they have a higher chance of getting dropped. I've encountered PP's site before but I have yet to watch a drama on there. I think Mysterious Love would be the first one. I do see quite a few that I'm interested in though.
Oh I hope that short dramas are making a comeback! I would be so happy to see more short dramas. I hop in and out of lakorns a lot and sometimes I get excited seeing 10 episodes but then forget that the episode lengths are 1hr+ xD But I do understand that in China it probably wouldn't give them much money/waste time to market short dramas since dramas drop so often nowadays. I have yet to start any of the Light On series but those dramas still do quite well. I count it because it only has the title of a series, but each drama has its own story to tell. I think they only added the "series" to it to market it too.
I waited to finish the drama to comment. I think it's awesome you're promoting this one. I was super happy when ProductiveProcrastination's team picked this one up or I would have had to put this one on my back burner forever. After watching it, I think it's one of the few different and better-done dramas out there in 2021. It just goes to show we can have a drama that's only 16 episodes at 30 minutes each and still tell a conclusive story. I thought some aspects could have been done better, but I don't even want to mention them because I think the pros outweigh the cons with this show. As always, another great article from you, Cho Na! :)
One of the few articles where I found myself easily sucked into the content. It could be that I'm a bit biased towards the subject matter as I love seeing different types of mothers being portrayed and how it affects characters around them (psychologically). Especially if we're talking about the mother of a lead character. I don't think I have a favorite type of mother that's portrayed in dramaland due to the reason I stated before. I do like well-written ones where relationships are meaningful or helpful with the character's development.
I think i'm not fit to create ultra fan guide to Liu Yuning because I haven't seen all his works but yeah Im obsessing…
haha definitely understand. There's so many actors/actresses out there that I want to help promote to the world but I only know some generic info on them. Hopefully someone decides to write one for him one day!
I've been waiting for someone to do a whole ultra fan guide to Liu Yu Ning. This isn't it, but it'll do for now XD. I'm more obsessed over his musical career and I melt every time I hear his songs but Liu Yu Ning as Hao Du is like icing on the cake. I think a good bonus to add to this article was his OST for TLB. Thanks for this piece on Liu Yu Ning, and I still gotta go finish TLB.
I have written a long in-depth review of Sweet and Sour on my blog. It's for anyone who is wondering if they should…
I was iffy about this movie when articles came about about the plot and cast. I haven't watched it yet but definitely enjoyed your review on it! also, thanks for that in-depth review of the ending as I couldn't help it but spoil the ending for myself XD
Has he gone to jail yet? And is she still dating that Ye Hui guy? If I'm the ML idk if I can forgive her after…
Darn! Kind of wish I didn't spoil myself? I was hoping that all the jail, Ye hui, and immature FL drama would be in the first half of the drama and then the FL lead being mature in the second half with their relationship improving together. At least then I could justify the drama somehow, but now I don't know if I can finish it..
Is the plot spoiling or does all that happen in the first few ep? I feel like that's a lot of content
If you're talking about the first few minutes of the first ep, all of that content does not happen within the first few episodes. I'm assuming this is a flashback kind of storyline where it will "start" during the present timeline, but I could be wrong. I believe it will be slowly revealed to us in the first half? It starts off with the cast and their story in 2008 so I'm sure we will see it along the way. For reference, I'm on ep 16
Haha critisizm is the thing I do in my reviews as I mostly write when I'm not satified with it... but it's my…
There was a boatload of sweet moments! It got too much for me at one point xD
I only tried to game in my youth, now I avoid them because I know I won't last long. I'm a literal Liang Chen with games, probably can do just a tad better but I'm still horrible. I was asked to play Among Us as the imposter for my brother because he needed to do something and I almost made him lose xD
I appreciate your article so much because sometimes it's hard for me to criticize dramas where I feel "ehhh" about and you worded it nicely on all the negative aspects of this show. This was a drama that could easily be a 24 episode drama because it was slated at 30 minutes an episode, so it'll technically feel like a 12 episode drama. The reason I say that it'll do fine as a 24 episode drama is because there's not much going on in the storyline. The plot is just so simple and it's really just written to showcase their love, hence "love scenery." The "misunderstandings" and "conflicts" don't necessarily add to the story or character's development. I don't believe there was any or much character development in here. When these conflicts don't add to the story, it'll just come off as cliche, unnecessary, and unrealistic.
I do think that despite its flaws, Love Scenery does great if you're just looking for a lighthearted fluff drama. I think that's why I rated it a bit higher because while it's plot-driven with loopholes, cliches, and drags, amongst most dramas in this category, it doesn't try to sell us more than what it's giving. What I expected while watching was what I got out of it and it didn't leave me with so many eyebrows raises and scoffs at ridiculous plot points.
My biggest chuckle out of the show was the fact that in the game world, those bullets never hit them. I'm a horrible gamer and I need a game like that in my life so I'll be able to complete missions xD
It wasn't a horrible watch but I did want to love more it since it's Darren Wang aka Lord Bo but the storyline lacked in making me believe its fantasy element. I'm a dream hopper, fantasy, romance, comedy, an underdog show lover, which the movie had. The storyline is indeed interesting but I think the overall theme they were trying to get at felt messy to me. It focused on some parts for too long and then was rushed at others where it could have made more impact. The romance felt a bit forced into the movie where I feel like the plot could have done without and worked just as well or even better if they focused on other aspects. What kept me going was indeed the visuals. I wouldn't really come into the movie expecting cool action shots or stunts though.
I agree completely, you singled out everything I was thinking about beautifully.
I am curious if what you thought about the feel of the movie. A lot of comments I see says that the Korean version is darker than the Japanese version. However, from the male lead's character to the lack of little rom-com scenes made the Japanese one felt like it was darker. Is it just me? XD
I haven't been following kdrama lately because these types of dramas are hard for me to stomach one after another (as you mentioned, we've been getting a lot of them lately). I finally did "Flower of Evil" last month, so it'll be a bit before I pick up something along the same lines. I used to indulge in these kinds of dramas but lately, I can only handle the lighthearted content XD However, this article and how you set up this drama makes me wanna jump right in! The least I'll do is add it on my PTW to stare me down until I do. Thank you for the article!
Yeah they just posted the same rumor on Facebook again - hopefully we will get an update soon.
I don't think we'll get to see this one air anytime soon then XD Side note: It may sound weird but I've noticed that you switched your profile pic of Xing Kelei into Guo San Shuang?
haha what years were you listening to Kpop? I've been listening since 2008? Some of these groups aren't really…
Yeap! With the amount of music and groups that are booming in Kpop it's hard to keep track. I had to do some research just to find these songs to write about XD. My music tastes have changed as well (more western alternative, pop, and indie), but I try my best to keep myself informed on Kpop every now and then.
