Seen 8 episodes. Yea. It follows the model of the other seasons. It follows the format we're familiar with, and after 3-4 episodes you get used to the new faces. Casting is pretty great. Cinematography is a bit awkward at times, but usually it's pretty clean. Everything else is the usual.
One thing I realised though is that you can tell the actors who play younger Wu Xie keep building upon the actor that previously played the character, which helps with the flow of character development. You can see that Joseph Zeng has at least studied Neo Hou's version of Wu Xie before, which is a delight to see (they're both amazing at psychological and suspense dramas so yes I'm slightly fangirling).
Oh and End Credit Bloopers have been put in once again <3
I've watched M9 but I can't remember any of it. I've watched part of TLT2 but the memory of that is fuzzy as well.…
Watching it in order would help story wise. Though strangely enough, if you want the clearest understanding of the relationship the main 3 have, and what type of characters they are (since it can be hard to understanding with all the cast changing), I actually recommend Tomb Of The Sea, the spinoff series. TOTS gives the clearest understanding of what type of people they're supposed be ( just older), and what the characters from the main franchise mean to each other.
Boring and cringy. One of the most overrated cdrama ever.
The cringe of the series is truly cringe but the cute parts are extremely cute and fluffy. if you can skip the cringe the rest of the series is extemely enjoyable (this is coming from someone that usually hates romance btw). I'd say after the secondary couple gets introduced then it starts to get good (Mi Shao Fei and Sun Ya Ya).
I'm almost 100% sure this series is supposed to aim for new Xianxia watchers and/or a younger audience. The lenght of the series and each episode is much shorter than most series, and the story is rather "immature". Yet despite that, the CGI looks decent, and so does costume and makeup (those horns on the dragon clan zmhsdvfzmhdf ;--;). If not then this was a missed opportunity to make a really good Xianxia series.
I have no idea what this is about. I read the chinese synopsis and still have no idea what this is about, other than "look at them they're into the recent trend of hanfu" (which is true by the way. You're guaranteed to at least see one young man or woman in their late teens to early 20s in hanfu in any mall in China).
In the anime, the explanation is basically that "Chu Yin still lives on in Shi Guang's Go moves."
Yea. It's never been specified but people just assume that as long he plays go, he'll "see" Chu Yin in some way. Whether auditory, visually, or just the feeling of him nearby etc.
I feel like latest episode was a bit dragged. 13 was absolutely wonderful, but 14 just felt like it it was grasping on to as much time as possible, with a lot of aimless walking scenes. I know it's to build up tension, but it didn't give the wanted effect.
Still love the series though and hopefully we can find out more about our protag, and not leave it all build up until the very last 1-3 episodes so we can explore that facet of him more.
AHAHAHA Of course. Wouldn't be an asian drama without some form of cross-dressing, if only for 2 seconds. Maybe Neo will be hit the crossdressing curse like Xu Kai. (episode 9 btw).

But damn the plot twists.

Am I still going to watch it? Yes.
Shi Guang and Yu Liang chemistry was also shining really bright. I swear I almost died from heart disease from the sweetness they brought together.

Many emotional moments in the series, but this is the first time I cried and goddamn did I cry a lot.
