interesting to hear your perspective because the main leads chemistry is precisely the thing that stood out to me about this drama! I do see Ruyi being tougher than Ning in some ways, but I don't think it in any way negates Ning's strength in character, personality, wisdom, physical strength. andd I think their differences play really well with each other and the chemistry is very smooth. I love Zhao Lusi and her dramas and I agree that she can play tougher roles like in Love Like the Galaxy, but she still has a very innocent and cutesy vibe which doesn't completely match Ruyi- who's supposed to be a ruthless assassin who learns how to be more vulnerable and expressive in her relationships as her character grows. hope you enjoy the rest of the drama and I think she'll grow on you too! ;)
omggg now I'm sad. I'm rooting for y'all Chu Yue and Shisan :(((( I think you can tell that he genuinely likes her but knows he should restrain himself. really nice depth they added to his character! He's often the comedic relief yes, but he has other sides too which is great. I think I like Chu Yue more now that we've seen some more of her. she's growing on me and I hope her Shisan can be together :(( and hahahah now he knows how it feels to be spied on LTG! Personally, I really like his character! I think even his craziness is fun to watch and I look forward to seeing how his character will play out I love how Ning and Ruyi communicated at the end <33 you see how Ruyi's past habits still affect the relationship and how well they handle it! honestly, I don't know who wrote these characters, but each one is so layered and has so much depth it's so beautiful and amazing to watch also Ning's hand? i hopehe's ok!
Yu Shisan's characterization is actually really interesting :o they usually give playboy characters quite one dimensional characters but I really like how much depth they added to Shisan here. very intriguing to watch. I like how they cleared up what happened with Mei Niang bc I was wondering how he'd get with the princess when it seemed like they had a thing
looks like LTG just needed to be water tortured to set himself right! Looolll, I love how Ning took the responsiblity and told him women don't like mentally unstable boys. What a man! XDD "rebellious son" and all! I think we're on the path to a better LTG! also I love his blossoming relationship with the princess. if they don't get together, maybe they can still be good friends
and ahhhh the casual intimacy Ruyi and Ning have is unrivaledd. they act like a real couple. their movements when they touch each other are so natural. like when he's hugging her or holding her hands, or touching her in any way, his fingers move very naturally like how a couple would. it looks so intimate it's like I'm intruding in on them XD and the way he listens and comforts her is soo sweeett. also they're such a good looking pair every time they're on screen I just stare at them and take it all in. sometimes I struggle with how the male leads look so when they're on screen, I don't look too close, but LYN THIS mannn ahhhhhhh
SHISANNN I love this guy. I like how he prods Ning about LTG only for the rest of them to gang up on him HAHAHA the comedic elements in this drama truly are very well done

I knowww, like the attraction just bleeds through the screen and it is SO enjoyable and exciting to watch. I honestly believe that every actor brings their own experiences and personality into a character, and you really see that with LSS and LYN!! in a reallyyy nice way. theyve created such a unique dynamic my standards for future cdrama couples are HIGH
one thing that really stands out to me about this drama is the sizzling chemistry between Ning and Ruyi. I know LYN views his age as a negative thing, but I think it's added this maturity in his character that's really attractive to watch. Ruyi and Ning have that really good tension between them- and their character dynamic plays into that as well. super sweet, loving, and the SPARKS are flying!! I can't help but compare it to other dramas where, with all respect to the dramas and the actors, everything just feels very forced/casual/just boring. or they have a cutesy relationship which can be fun to watch but I muchhh prefer this steaming hot, sizzling, mature dynamic Ning and Ruyi have!!
