The rise of Ning has a better storyline , it flew steadily. Si Jin is quite messed up, to my taste, 10 episodes in and I for one still feel confused with this parallel world / past life narrative. She died? She didn't die? Is he the same one or a different person? Is the current king his father ? if he is, then how come his wife is now in her second life and he isn't? it is all messed up. ZWY is a great actor, especially in costume dramas, he has such a poise and fabulous diction.While Jian Tan, the female lead is mechanical in her acting, poor facial expressions and flat in diction, I have seen her in period dramas in the past, she is just not it

Zhang Wan Yi has fabulous diction too, there are only a few male actors who possess great voice and so natural in delivering diction.

He has a great voice and his diction is perfect, not many actors come with great voice and fabulous fiction as he has.

Perfunctory, a very apt description of Jian Tan's performance in front of the camera.

Chemistry needs to go both ways, I have always found Jian Tan, the female lead in this series, an actress who cannot syn naturally with her male leads. She plays the roles she is given, but she is not the person she is playing., I also find her diction stiff, quite void of emotions. We'd surely be seeing a different drama with, for example, Zhao Lusi were the female lead here.

Didn't expect a comical tone in this drama, thought it would on a serious tone all the way based on second chance, vengeance, etc. Mist admit I am pleasantly surprised. Hope the misdeeds in he past life will be reversed and satisfying to watch, I hate to see bad things keep happening, just not my cup of tea.

👍👍, finally airing now. Have been looking forward to a good period drama, Zhang Wan Yi (the male lead) is exceptional in costume drama, have known him since Lost you forever and following him ever since. I wish the female lead could have been someone else, eg. Zhao Lusi, but hey... any drama with the male lead for me is worth watching.

I normally skip, fast forward when I watch series, but I cannot with this series, I simply can't. What a script!!
