Based on the trailers, the ML will eventually rise up in rebellion against the king, and MoWan could be seen with him. So I guess it will be a happy ending? But i have no idea how they can ever justify the ML marrying/being together with his brother's consort.

Im pretty sure they edited out some of Jin Yi's part. They became close out of no where. Consort Chen is sort of different because her previous self, as empress, was close with her. But as MoWan, she is not, so she blackmails Consort Chen and her lover to participate in her schemes. MoWan also spread news around the palace saying she and Consort Chen were united together, in order to get her evil sister to do something.

its depressing... it definitely won't have a happy ending. I spoiled myself by reading wikipedia. Not to mention the annoying character Su Yu Ying, a character who never learns from her mistakes...
My rating for this drama did go down, but not as fast as the rating on MyDramalist.

They had so many chances to say "they lost the baby." Falling into the water, falling off the ladder, and now in episode 14, getting poisoned by the cousin...

I posted this on AvenueX's discord and ill post it here since I know everyone here is watching the drama. I just want to ask/have a discussion about whether the female lead is MoWan, MoXin, or both. She initially says she has both person’s memories. If that is true, then it means she is MoWan but with MoXin's memories. But her actions, personality, choices, etc, show she is predominately MoXin.
I just want to see what you all think.

The two leads could have used the excuse of falling in the water to escape the fake pregnancy.... I guess they didnt want Lady Song and Third Uncle to feel bad..

Ok so I thought reading the synopsis on mydramalist is bad.... Reading the synopsis on Wikipedia is even worse.... The story will be even more tragic than I thought. I sincerely hope that the synopsis on Wikipedia is incorrect.

I would say his brother, the 3rd prince, is ChengXu's main opponent. Chengrui, who eventually becomes the king, does not outright order ChengXu's mother to kill herself, but does not stop the 4th brother from ordering her. He is part of the group that launches the coup de tat, but in his heart, he loves ChengXu, whom he mentored. But my opinion is based on the episodes that are released. He might become a huge villain that does horrible things as the king later in the story.

There is no way ChengXu will leave and live a peaceful life. He cares for only 2 things: finding the truth behind his mother's death and MingYu. If he doesn't accomplish the first thing, there is no way he will ever leave. If MingYu wanted to become empress, she would have slept with the king/emperor and had a son in order to solidify her power in court. But its been 1 year + and she still pushes the king away whenever he shows up. I really wonder, does she want power just because she wants power? Or does she want power because she knows that is the only way she can keep ChengXu safe?
Don't get me wrong. I really want the two leads to be together, and I hope they do get together in the future.

They could have eloped.... but it might bring harm to her family back home. She's just in the worst dilemma. Everything she did or could do, would have brought either harm to herself or other people.
I agree with you that the plot is annoying.... Also, ChengXu is starting to change. :(

im so confused... what power does Ming Yu care about? When she learned of his "death", she wanted to go die with him. She was urged by her servant to continue living and to protect Cheng Xu's last family member, which is Cheng Xuan. When she realizes he is still alive, she tried to go to him, but was restricted by everyone. If she went to ChengXu, ChengXu, her entire family in Yong Kingdom, and herself would probably die, not to mention all the soldiers and peasants. I guess i can agree that now, after ep 13-14, she believes in power, because she can sway the king. She urges the king to not rely on the 3rd and 4th prince, but to rely on the younger generation like 9th and 10th prince. This belief in power happens ONE year after the marriage.
