Anxin’s brother Ansheng is annoying me as the story progresses. As weird as it is, I can understand that he has never seen Anxin as his little sister and that he grew up harboring feelings for her. At first when he appeared, he was an ideal older brother. Now that we see Ling Yue learning how to respect Anxin (especially after she confronted him about meddling with her job and he finally realized how wrong he was), Ansheng becomes very disrespectful and overprotective. It’s as if he’s treating her like a fragile object without realizing she’s actually quite strong and her own person. I had to roll my eyes when he said he doesn’t agree to Anxin dating Ling Yue because who needs his consent?
What a well-researched article! This part of Tang dynasty is quite interesting and I'm glad the article includes this info.
This is easily my favorite Cdrama of the year so far. A lot of the dramas in the same genre focus too much on the romance and some of the characters might even lose their intelligence, but that doesn't happen to our leads here. The male lead is also very respectful and polite towards the female lead, which isn't commonly seen. I was half-expecting him to say something snarky towards her but nope, he's not that kind of a male lead. It's no wonder Chinese netizens have labeled him as the "ceiling". He certainly raised the bar.
I also love that we don't have any rivalry between the female characters. Instead we have a wholesome friendship.
If anyone wants to know where they went in ep 3, it's Mt. Shakushi Gateway Camp in Yamanashi. You can book a night there yourself: https://www.shakushi-gc.com/en/access/
It's totally on my list for when I can visit Japan again. Koshu in Yamanashi is also wine country.
I didn't expect that kiss at the end at all and both of them even leaned into it too! It was funny seeing them…
Yeah that kiss was so unexpected but felt so real. They definitely got caught up in the moment. It's so rare to find a kiss so early Jdramas but I'm not complaining lol
Kicking myself for starting this even though it just started airing. Now I have to wait for new episodes haha. Liking the vibe of this drama and the characters so far.
8.5 for me. Ep 30 onward was less compelling and consisted of mostly filler scenes. Too many flashbacks. The two leads kept me watching till the end though. I'm glad Bai Jingting finally has a kiss scene in a drama. It's a milestone in his career and for his fans haha.
