One thing that MDL didn't listed and I was pleasantly surprised to find out myself is that Sandra Ma won the best…
She is indeed a very good actress. It was a special year when she won because she shared the award with her costar and good friend Zhou Dongyu. First time in Golden Horse history that two actresses shared the award. Their acceptance speech was very touching and you can find it on Youtube if you're interested.
What a great drama! I loved a lot of the conversations and most of all the characters. Mitsuru brings up a lot of good points even though he's annoying to the point where I just want him to shut up, hahaha. I enjoy his bickering with his older sister Ayako the most - typical sibling bickering.
I'm still very much onboard with this drama. Prior to ep 26, I was just rolling my eyes at Qiao Yiniang for her childish tactics and fake acting. After ep 27 is where I feel like I really need to see a happy ending for the leads. Xu Lingyi really loves Shiyi and I'd like to think she does care for him deeply, but she obviously restrained herself due to the mystery around her mother's death. Now that she has realized her mistake, I hope she spends the rest of the drama reciprocating his love. Instead of the usual 追妻火葬场 I need to see a 追夫火葬场!
Finished 8 episodes and haven't found anything boring about it at all. It has good pacing and I think the story and dialogue are enough to keep me hooked. It's so nice to see the leads work hard in their respective fields. I hope this balance continues once they get together.
For those who have watched "In a class of her own", does Xu Ling Yi's voice sound exactly like Feng Cheng Jun's?…
No, it's not just you. Bian Jiang dubbed both characters. He's one of the most famous voice actors in China and has dubbed dozens of leading male characters.
She goes way too far though and I hated the way she flaunted her relationship with the princess—and made fun…
If you're willing to stick around, you'll see another side of her. I love her character but not gonna deny that she's a bitch at the beginning. I definitely had my "damn girl you went there" moments with her. In the end though, she became one of my favorite female leads in cdramaland.
Your opinion of her isn't uncommon by the way. If you read the reviews on this page, you'll see people comment on their hesitation for her character as well.
I do like the way the scriptwriters decided to write her character as a bitch at the beginning because it's more interesting to discover her other layers later on. It's exactly the same way some characters in the drama discover her too.
Does the love triangle here annoying to watch or just fine? I might want to watch this since i've been looking…
The leads make it very clear that they only want each other. The second male lead is the silent type and the second female lead isn't given much of a chance because male lead is very good at keeping his distance.
Have been rewatching scenes and honestly, people looking for a likable FL will be disappointed. The point of Ban Hua's character is that she isn't meant to be liked and she frankly doesn't care that she isn't liked by others. She doesn't even stir up crap with any of the other ladies in the drama in the first place - they all go after her with their unwanted comments and then they're surprised that she talks back. Watching her rip them apart is satisfying.
A cute drama and not to be serious. The leads are both beautiful and smart. Ban Hua may not be book smart (that's her whole family as well) but she's smart enough to figure out Rong Xia's true intentions and thus saving us from watching them misunderstand each other for episodes. Rong Xia never seems to make a stupid decision. Frustrating decisions? Yes but never stupid. I love the way he plans out everything.
8.5/10 for me. Love the cast, characters and the relationships. What I didn't like...
I just didn't like how Junko approached confessions from her suitors by ghosting on them. I find it hurtful and rude. Even her best friend had to ask if she's never thought of responding to their feelings.
I'm going to miss watching this family.
