I enjoyed the first episode a lot. I went in with low expectations, but was surprised by how it was well-written,…
Some of the things that I LOVED:
- The FL is not your typical girl with a golden heart, who has a perfect skinny figure. She's got spunk! - Even though she calls herself ugly, it was her personality that was a put off (which she perceived to be her being ugly) - The fact that she took revenge on the guy who bullied her (she is no goody two shoes) - She didn't like being called ugly but she judged the first guy who approached by his looks - Having a makeover didn't fix her low self-esteem, she initially felt compelled to go out with the first guy who made a pass - It wasn't the makeup that changed things per se, but it was the fact that she decided to be confident. - The ML is the one who is into make-up (we hardly see male makeup artists in dramas) - An LGBT character!!! <3 - the neighbour who's liked her for a long time (i'm a sucker for silent love haha)
I enjoyed the first episode a lot. I went in with low expectations, but was surprised by how it was well-written, while having the loudness that a manga to live adaptation should have. I don't mean to compare but I'll say it - this was everything I wish True Beauty was, even though we're only 1 episode in. I am curious to see how the rest of the episodes play out. This has me hyped up!
It is only episode 2 and I dislike the actions of Mokomi's mother. Mokomi doesn't want to feel different from…
Couldn't agree more. Her actions have the effect of excluding Mokomi more than ever.
The mum is too controlling. Not just with Mokomi, but even with dad who was trying to tell her something but she didn't listen & kept going on & on about what she wanted to say.
Mokomi is so precious I want to protect her from all the pain in the world. The actress who plays her is absolutely fantastic! Each episode makes me cry a little. Seriously what's with all the fantastic J dramas this season.

Nope, he's a very quiet & sensitive guy, somewhat like Mokomi (minus objects speaking to him)
