I have finished this drama, and wow, this has to be one of the best Xianxia I've seen. Does it have flaws? Yes. Are there dramas that are technically better executed than this? Yes. But do I like this the best? YES. There are so many better made xianxia out there but I've never grown as attached to them as this one, so no matter how good they are, this one has my heart, entirely.
The only thing though is the ending. It's so rushed, which leaves me unsatisfied and wanting more. And because of the rushed end, several things can't be addressed. The last three episodes feel like a fever dream ever since XLH turned into the Goddess. I am sure XLH is still in the Goddess, however, they don't have the time to address that enough because of the rushed end. I wish they display scenes of their lives after DFQC comes back so we could see XLH return to her happy baby self, because the way the goddess is, is not XLH, the XLH that DFQC fell in love with. The XLH that we fell in love with. Most importantly though, we didn't even get to see them get married ;-; ok, maybe I just want more.
I waited for this drama to finish airing and I finally have time the to watch it. I'm only up to ep 8, but so far, I love it so much! I found Dylan Wang mediocre in Evernight2 but him as DFQC is WOW, my heart pop out of my chest every time he's on screen XD. i don't normally watch idol actor either, but Esther is so cute. I think this has the potential to be my top fav xianxia, and I've watched a lot.
Anyways, for those who finished watching, can you please tell me how bad is the love triangle? Like how annoying will the second male lead be? I'm asking this cause I barely could stand the love triangle in ashes of love lol. No major spoiler please, thanks!
Maybe it's my fault I've come to this comment thread because I want to see the discussion, but you know, there's also a spoiler tag for a reason. Please, seriously, be a bit considerate and put your comment on spoiler tag when it is a spoiler. I can only afford VIP and isn't planning to buy express to view the new episodes, and now, my mood is completely ruined because some people just can't be considerate to others who cannot view the newer episodes yet and literally spoiled everything. It's not that hard to put a spoiler tag ffs.
I’m really trying so hard to continue but I just can’t. I know xianxias are slow in the beginning but this…
Love and Destiny caters for a more mature audience compares to other Xianxia I've watched, very salient in the cast's age, so it has many nuances that's hard to understand. There's a lot of details in the drama at the start, but they're all important and ties in later on. I think you might find it boring at the beginning because of the details and also the beginning is aimed to be very happy and light, so it might not be as interesting. But trust me, it gets intense and emotional real quick. I find this to be the most perfectly made c-drama I've ever watched, but in the end, it's just up to your preferences.
the actors are too old 😭, at least choose more eye candy male lead.
I hope you know, eye candy is literally subjective. Lin Geng Xin isn't old and to many people, he is handsome. He might not be a feminine idol looking dude, but he has a masculine look to him and his acting is top notched. You seem to be into Dylan Wang and that's fine, but no need to be so rude about LGX. He is an amazing actor, and in terms of role delivery, he's way better than newer, pretty face actors.
She understand YY actually love her but choose three realms instead. She assume YY removed her memory because…
yeah, that's exactly what confused me. Why instead of interpreting YY erasing their memory as him erasing it because 'he cares about her and doesn't want her to dissipate into ashes, and thus, they never meet again', to 'he doesn't give a shit about her and want to move on'. It kinda threw me off because YD has always been rational but suddenly, she's incoherent. Maybe she's emotional rn idk.
Just watched ep 39, and I love the angst and all, but I'm a bit confused with YD. Like I understand she suffered a lot, but she has also seen what YY did for her and she also knows YY's feelings. I understand if, even then, she still wants to distance herself, and that's fine, that's understandable, but what throws me off is her reasoning of why she's mad at him. She's mad at him because he erased her memory? That's the reason? But I thought she knows that if he didn't she would be dead?? Idk, I just think out of the many reason she could be mad at him with, she is mad at him because of this feels a bit off.
Anyways, that aside, I really miss Yingyuan. TZ is sweet and all, but I just want to see YY again. There's only 21 ep. this part and the previews for next eps don't seem to indicate YY is going to be back anytime soon ;-; I feel like YY would resolve the situation with YD way better than the clueless TZ.
Please don't spread something you aren't certainly sure about. You decided to take Jin Han's side and that's fine, but nothing is confirmed with this whole situation to say indefinitely that she's a bad person. As far as I know, the allegations was never proven to be untrue or true, the only reason why nothing has accelerated further was thanks to her who retracted the statement. As for the real reason why she retracted, no one will ever know.
Most of us are using the two different identities just to distinguish whether we are talking about the mortal…
Ohh, I see, that makes sense. I skimmed through the comments and I was beginning to doubt that I was watching the right drama loll. Thankfully, they are just 'what if's' discussions. Thanks for explaining!
Most of us are using the two different identities just to distinguish whether we are talking about the mortal…
No, I know that. I'm just confused because people in the comments are talking like YD has to choose between TZ and YY, when really, aren't they just the same entity, what's there to choose? Like some comments say TZ will be really sad because YD will choose YY, like what?? Isn't TZ just YY's trail?
I'm kinda confused why a lot of people are talking in the comment as if TZ and YY are 2 different entities when they are the same? I thought in normal Xianxia drama, he'll finish his mortal trial and just return to being YY???
I'm up to ep 11, and damn I knew I can't stand angst. So, can someone pls tell me for how long will YD continue to not know how much YY cares about her and for how long will YY keeps his lips sealed that he knows she saved him etc. thanks!
I'm probably the only one who love the ending lol. On contrary to people saying the ending is frustrating, I find it relieving and satisfying in some sense. Throughout the show, I was always frustrated by how Chu Qiao always look past the immoral things Yan Xun did and always return to him even when she clearly knew in her heart, she wanted to be with YWY. It was always frustrating too, to see YWY always letting her leave. The ending where the FL finally realised her mistake and that she regretted it, released all my pending frustrating. The way the ML told her to leave but this time, she didn't, was so well executed, I feel like it was worth watching just for that character development alone. Damn, I hate myself for being a sucker for these type of ending lmao. Like, I also really liked the ending of the Journey of Flower too, despite how everyone hated it, for a similar reason.
