if I come off rude here, please believe me when I say that is not my intention. i'm curious as to what authority or experience makes you say he could be an autistic savant or that his behaviors are consistent with autism? i ask this as the mother, stepmother wife and aunt of 4 autistic people. autism is a spectrum disorder and every person with autism experiences the disorder differently, but there are criteria for diagnosis and now that i'm all caught up I can assure you that this character meets none of them . also savants are overwhelmingly people with low IQs and profound mental disability. the character is said to have a very high IQ. true savatism is exceedingly rare and is generally defined as a person with a mental disability having skills beynd that of a normally abled person. while the character is a great programmer and good at his job he does not display skills out of te reach of a normally abled person. is he very skilled a this job? was he a child prodigy? yes h was, neither of these are indicators of autism or savantism when viewed in context.
every socially awkward person out there isn't autistic. there is a difference between being anxious because a situation makes you uncomfortable or brings back unpleasant memories {what is seen in the show} and being anxious because you are experiencing sensory overload and have a hard time processing social cues so social situations make you uncomfortable.

the character thus far isn't really that appealing, there's no personality there other than being unpleasant and the portrayal has been extremely monotone. I don't know if that's what the director was going for but it doesn't work. I should be eager to see the male lead on the screen, instead he makes me kind of sleepy. I can't help but think a different actor could have breathed some life into the role.
I hope it improves because otherwise the show is fun.

you should have spent some time looking into this before declaring him autistic to explain away bad behavior or to appease those who would. I've spent some time looking into this, going back and examining specific instances fans point to to justify this claim. none of his behaviors are consistent with an autism diagnosis. in fact, in all incarnations, a great deal of emphasis is placed on how perfect he is.
having read some articles online doesn't qualify you to present this as a fact about the character. I do not have delicate sensibilities. I do have a husband, daughter, step daughter and two nephews on the spectrum and have spent the last 16 years of my life living and socializing with autistic people and I think any group of people would be at least a little miffed when you identify an asshole as part of their group as a way to explain or excuse his assholishness, which is what people are doing when they put forth this claim, and what you have done by repeating it with no context.

i'm not overly impressed either. it's not unwatchable, but it doesn't capture my attention either. my Korean is such that without subtitles i only catch about 1/3 to half of what's being said. i don't even bother pausing when i have to get up from the show to do something. if i miss something oh well.
