Yeah, you do have a point there. As the story seems to follow the true love pattern in Chinese mythology “3 lives 3 loves 3 destinies” and they are at their 2nd life right now, they will probably “die” again. So we’ll have to wait and see how it develops.
I have a question about the list of top airing show for china in Mydramalist. how come APL who got more watcher…
It’s influenced by a lot of factors : score, no of ppl watching, on-holds, drops, etc..This series is a hit and miss as not many like the choice of main leads so it’s normal that it has a lower place although it’s more popular.
Wow ep 16 got me emotional. The battles of the gods against the demon lord. So all 4 true gods died as well as…
I’ve never read the novel but this is what I understood watching the series.
Neither of the true gods died.
1. True god of heaven Zhi Yang, survived the last battle and retired leaving the God Realm ( destroyed as it is ) making the 3 gods which survived (Wu Huan, Gu Jun & Mu Guang; they are at this level because of their contributions to the last battles) promise to protect it as it will one day return to its glory. Without it no one else can ever ascend to god level.
2. Bai Jue is the true god of war and the strongest god that has ever existed. After he survived the battles, to save Shang Gu’s soul in the beads, he has used most of his power. He is weakened but is close to the next level of power (same as immortals become gods, he became even higher as a god if that’s even possible) and has to go through “tribulation of gods”. He tells Shang Gu/ Houchi that he will be back)
Now in Chinese mythology it could mean a lot of thunders or “punishment to live life as a weaker creature” (usually gods are sent to live life as a mortal and suffer to ascend). This could also be his punishment for interfering with Shang Gu’s sacrifice.
He woke up in the North Sea without knowing his name and quite powerless so it seems plausible that this is his tribulation. He has cultivated a lot to even reach the level he is at now but he is still an immortal. Once in while he has memories of the past but he cannot fully grasp the situation. Same as Shang Gu, his power and spirit are probably saved in the beads bracelet.
4. Shang Gu was supposed to have given her life in the last battle but her soul was saved in the beads and she was given a new chance at life/ reincarnated as Houchi.
She has the destiny to be a god but she was not born as one..she’s born as an immortal and has low power but she is to be respected as the 4th god because of the prophecy. Deja Vu to when she was Supreme True God but didn’t yet have the power to earn the respect.
It makes you wander if Gu Jun actually knows who she is and is helping Bai Jue.
4. Tian Qi, true god of Demons, is also still alive because Bai Jue didn’t kill him. He took most of his power away and left him and his retainer to start all over again.
It’s interesting to see how much patience Bai Jue actually has with those around him and how he did so many things for Shang Gu including not killing Tian Qi before he even knew the truth about his choice. He has also waited to how many years now for her?!
OMG I missed Hongri so much..this second part gets me more excited episode by episode. It’s also real fun to see that even though they can’t remember their past, they’re still attracted to each other.
My reason to check this series out was Jiyeon which I love since I saw her act in Master of study. Through her I discovered T-ARA and I followed her over the years, mostly her acting gigs.
I was really excited to see her as a main lead so I watched two episodes of this series. Why does she always get the bitchy roles? She’s such a hard working girl and has a sweet nature yet they always give her weird roles.
Sometimes I come for an actress or actor and get curious about the main plot and stay but it wasn’t the case with this series. I have nothing against the main lead but she’s just not it for me.. I cannot connect with Ma ha, her team or her relationship with Ryok & Yujin and this series is all about her.
The SHAX boys seem interesting enough to watch (I’m curious about what happened to Eun Jo as well) and I want to see more of Jiyeon on screen but that’s basically it.
So I’m asking you guys..is it worth it to watch more just for these reasons?
This started so promising but the plot is just dragging on now that’s becoming ridiculous. They could’ve done better. Just finished episode 22 and I feel that nothing much happened in this series.
I’m a bit confused about how he just fell for her, maybe I missed something as it felt like now he sees her as a brat and then he just starts doing random sweet gestures. Other than that, it’s pretty interesting. Definitely not my favourite but it got me invested..
Watch it and determine that for yourself with an open mind.
Skip it. I love Zhao Lusi and watched most of her series and a lot of them are full of cliches and cheesy but bearable. This one is just not worth it. I’m at episode 16 and I’ll probably put it on hold and come back when I have more patience with it. It started promising and fun but now I regret wasting my time.
Started promising but after a while it became more and more ridiculous.
Their families hate each other yet the kids always mix. It’s cliche after cliche and cheesy as well: sisters like same man, brothers fight for position in company, brother likes adopted sister (not same blood), the brother likes the woman who likes his brother, kidnapped as children, amnesia, living together and then falling in love, the man has one or more phobias, one of the parents has died, they know each other since childhood, rich man-poor woman... all this happened until ep16.
So how many more cliches can they fit in the last 8 episodes?! I’m really tired of it now..
OK, people clearly forgot two main things about this series before they started watching it..Firstly it’s a…
Ep5 - Why would you accept to pimp your own boyfriend? I would’ve understood if they were two friends trying to win the favour of one guy fair and square but he’s already in love with Risa so Nacchan is being totally unreasonable here. Come on Risa chan, don’t be stupid..
Ep6 - I expected Nacchan to be a b until the end but instead she admitted to her wrongdoing. I even hope she gets to proper date Akutsu (who is not so bad either?!).
Ep8 - Really now, Risa?! Why is she following random people everywhere? Especially when his mom told her that Hiroto hates her. I want to believe that people are not so trusting in real life but I unfortunately know people like Risa and they’re always lucky to have next to them good people who will save their asses from trouble. Kids, remember, never follow strangers..especially to bars.
End - it was cheesy and ridiculous how naive one can be but it’s a typical manga plot so I had not many expectations to start with..
OK, people clearly forgot two main things about this series before they started watching it..Firstly it’s a live action after a manga and secondly it’s a cheesy type of story. So if you don’t like such things, don’t start watching it.
I was expecting the worst drama ever but after watching the first episode I realised that people like to exaggerate.
Risa is naive, shy and awkward and so she attracts people around her like a lost puppy. She’s also too trusting and that gets her in trouble..Her ass gets saved so many times that it becomes clear that she’ll forget to breath without help..But somehow I cannot hate her as although in my eyes she’s quite frustrating, at least she recognises that she’s dependent on Hiroto’s help and she tries to better herself.
One thing I do agree with is that the “sexy” scenes are cringe..
This series isn't really bad per se, it's just that it concentrates too much on the business part and it can become tiresome. If you skip some of the over-explained and boring business scenes, it will be more interesting.
I also edited the synopsis to one without spoilers. I hope it will get approved as without an element of surprise this story can be boring..
So which is better Begin Again or Love Equation? Feel free to spoil the endings. I want HE only. Thanks!
Haven’t seen Love Equation but he’s an absolute dork in Begin Again. He makes a great team with the FL as they’re both clueless about relationships. As far as I can tell, you cannot really compare them as they’re in different categories, one is a school series while the other one is about married life. I guess based on taste you could like either one more then the other.
Saw him first in Begin Again and now watching Word of Honor. I will check some older series as well to see his evolution. Quite impressive to compare the acting for his two characters in the series I did watch. He is definitely an actor whose works I will follow in the future. I have a feeling that his fame will grow over the next few years..
This is one of those series that starts promising, builds up tension and then deflates like a balloon.. Can’t say how angry I am at myself for wasting so many hours on it..
