idk how to feel about the whole drama bc it really wasnt that good and the ending felt kind of..meh, but i could kind of see the vision of what they were trying to do, like being experimental with the cinematography and storytelling... there was no actual point to anything though??

anyways i thought it was so funny how subaru was being so protective over akari by telling the professor to stay away from her.... boy you just kidnapped her in the last episode 💀

i like nakamura yurika, but god shes really the worst person you could have chosen to cast as the ex?? well ig the goal is to make her unlikeable, but she really cant cry act... she sounded like she was suffocating when on the phone with takkun and it was so bad i laughed 🤐 neru is really bad at cry acting too, so it's like DAMN give us anything??? fuma was such a star in this drama.... im rly disappointed they gave us a really bad last 3-4 episodes....

lmao i have to admit that last kiss scene was really cute... i mean ig the only thing this drama was great at was bringing the summer vibes 😂 otherwise a really rushed, poor ending to a drama filled with stereotypical tropes/scenes... so much unnecessary conflict, and im not at all satisfied with how they chose to tell the story of any of the couples.. risa and hayakawa so very clearly were the best couple with all this build-up, only for them to get the least amount of screentime and the most watered down ending?? but ig i cant really complain when i stuck through the whole thing 😭 i was just really expecting it would somehow get better when the cast is so great!! what a waste of talent honestly...

a story about women friendships, coming of age, and growth.. the beginning and middle honestly felt really emotionally heavy sometimes, which isnt bad, but if im tired from work, i dont want to come home and feel that way? so the happy ending was nice imo. maybe me from idk 3-4 years ago would have complained about the lack of realism or sudden changes, but me now def doesnt mind a nice fluffy warm ending

oh oops apparently she kinda helped arisu get the job since yuma's dad was bringing personal matters into the workplace... i thought arisu was doing the whole jealous, making it competition thing so i got defensive 😬

oops thought this week's ep was the last... anyways i still think the ex gf was an unnecessary addition, but maybe i live for the drama.... yae avoiding that kiss literally made me gasp out loud LMAO

also this is my fav mario role... i love him, just never enjoyed him as an actor, but his back and forth with fuma is really fun! i really wish we had more takkun/kenchan moments or flashbacks 🥺

i personally find the ayaka character so unnecessary... or at least she didnt need to be anything other than a college senpai, esp bc the romance between arisu and yuma has enough conflict... but i thought it was really funny when she was lowkey insulting arisu by saying she had only come this far through toko's help, like thats rich coming from a little rich girl who only has her job bc her dad and yuma's dad are besties??

i totally expected kento to come back so i was waiting for it, hoping for it even, bc it was really obvious he was going to be the trigger for takumi to finally do smth, rather than just being the tsundere hes been since they were kids.... plus kento is obv pushing for takumi and yae to be together, so hes a fun addition to the cast..... but takumi's ex gf?? LMAOOOOO im sorry but imagine being so hung up over an ex after 10 years that you're begging his WIFE to disappear from his life... also is this not lowkey stalker behavior... i get that takumi is pretty famous, but showing up to his apartment building 💀 PLEASE that is not normal!! ig im just upset bc i was really enjoying this drama, and now they're adding very unnecessary conflict... just kento was fine omg if anything, if you needed smth else to fill the time, we could have gotten some more kento background story like.... anyways i can only hope the ending isnt complete shit for what was a really entertaining and surprisingly likable summer drama

aaaah ok tbh i wasnt really feeling the episodes with miwako (though necessary for closure or wtv) so i thought damn this drama is going downhill (LOVED it at the start and i hate when dramas cant live up to that feeling for the entire run), but this week's ep was a nice change.... sakaido was always a character i really liked, maybe even my fav, and i enjoyed seeing her vulnerability!

however, really hoping they dont try to put mukai and sakaido together... they have chemistry, but platonic relationships are a thing yknow?? is it so hard to have a nice opposite sex friendship in a jdrama lol

the girl going after genki has the most awful wig though.... if you're going to have an annoying character, at least dress them nicely and try for a perfect image... not like i want to root for her, but it makes it hard to even care about her as a character when that wig makes her feel so out of place lmfao

i dropped 3 nen a gumi bc i personally hate bullying dramas in japan, esp ones that get popular, bc it starts to feel like the media thinks they did smth.... only for bullying to continue irl and nothing gets solved... which is why i thought id drop this too, but ep 2 kinda feels like theres more to this. i might have dropped 3 nen a gumi too soon, so idk if it does happen, but it feels like kujo sensei will make change in people's personal lives. that to me feels more real, like sometimes you just need one person to give you the push to make change in your own life

we'll see if i really continue with it though... they chose actors i dont like to play the mean group which makes this drama more frustrating tbh 😂 but i really want to see if okudaira daiken will have a major development in this

ooh ok ep 3... so we're not going to see a new girl every ep... while this drama didnt follow the storytelling that piqued my interest in ep 1, theres still a unique style to it that i really enjoy! the first scene with the variety show "cameo" was so good lol

i cant remember when i watched this drama and how i even came across it initially.... but even though i didnt rate it that high, i have moments where i think about this drama and the life that mc lived.... the story was interesting bc you learn about different neighborhoods in tokyo, and considering the title does include "guidebook", the storytelling means it looks like you're looking in on someone's life and being taken for a ride... maybe ill rewatch

i mean im not going to lie, i initially thought that way too, but we were seeing everything from mukai's perspective so thats why we interpret it like that. when we see her side, we see that she does it due to nervousness, which makes complete sense

cannot figure out what makes this drama so boring... great cast, great acting, interesting characters, interesting concept... theres so much potential here, and there are some scenes i really enjoy, but i dont feel particularly excited to tune in, and then i just completely lose interest before the halfway mark.... guess ill give it one more ep but damn if ep 3 isnt better...lol

wasnt actually expecting anything from this but the visual and title caught my eye... and after watching, the title is starting to make sense lol idk about mukai and his ex gf, but i think his dynamic with sakaido feels real and interesting! shes very neutral but stands by her own opinions... when asked for advice, she gives it how she sees it. i dont necessarily think mukai is doing anything wrong, but you gotta admit he misinterpreted a lot of those interactions... and personally i've met a lot of men who do the same. i loved when sakaido tells mukai that he doesnt think too much about how the other person feels bc it's how i felt about him when he tried to ask nakatani out... smth about his tone and the way he had asked her didnt really feel like he was doing it bc he liked her lol but more bc he felt that she liked him and he was doing her a favor of asking her out

anyways, unique storytelling to this one.... we only see mukai's perspective until he talks with sakaido, and we see the other part of the story. i find it very interesting bc the framing just fit so well with how sakaido mentioned mukai doesnt really think about others. it leaves me curious on if the entire drama will follow this type of storytelling

maybe bc i was really looking forward to this drama... but ep 1 was really disappointing... not that it's badddd, but just a lot of stereotypical scenes and characters that it kinda feels like a drama from the 00s.... at the same time though, the summer romance drama vibes are perfect so that may be enough to keep me around until the end  😂 also how can i drop this when it's so rare for mamiyan to do a romance drama lol
