not done with the first ep so it may be too early to say this, but i thought this drama was going to be about how it's hard to live a double life, like your partner not knowing your true identity/real job and having to balance that.... but the real reason why the marriage is difficult is bc suzuki nobuyuki's character doesnt clean up after himself?? idk i was just expecting smth different... it's hard for me to focus on the whole star crossed lovers concept of being in rival ninja families when the foundation of their marriage is already rocky to start with
i may not have really enjoyed this drama to the max, but the final episode really resonated with me... as an artist, i related to the moments of struggle and the constant feeling of comparing yourself and your skills to others, and i admired the scenes where they showed the characters' devotion and passion to their craft. there's this love/hate relationship with it; i love what it stands for, what you can create, the freedom, the connection you can build with people, etc., but i hate how smth you love can also make you feel all this pressure and make you feel like you're at your lowest point
i mean maybe if the drama was focused on david and his brother, the beauty of their relationship and their bond won't be so hard-hitting, but i think it would have been interesting to see more of the brother
same here, watched the first ep but dont know what to think of it.
have you seen ep 2 and 3? i actually find it pretty interesting. im a bit biased towards the cast if i have to be honest, but ive also been pulled into the mystery surrounding the older nurse
the story's not really that deep, but i appreciate the idea... like seeing yourself as beautiful despite whatever you look like bc you're not affected by societal beauty standards. it's just too bad kanade's acting is really cringe... i like her and sanji no heroine, but just bc comedians are funny doesnt mean they can act well enough to be in comedy dramas lol
Really? I watched her in Iribito recently and she delivered such a stellar performance.
i havent watched iribito yet, but ive definitely seen comments praising her acting and i didnt find her awkward in mahou no rinobe, which is why im surprised her acting feels so...stiff?
ig i was wrong about the conflicts being repetitive... i actually enjoyed this ep bc i totally understand manager tetsuko's perspective about the boys needing independence to succeed. i know it's for the sake of the story, but in ep 1 where asuka gets a tour of the dorm, i was literally like ew at the thought of 7 boys being incapable of keeping their dorm clean... and honda tsubasa's acting doesnt get better, but thats actually part of the fun now... i just laugh every time i cringe lmfao but anyways i cant really complain bc this drama season is so bad that this is the best drama of the season for me, to the point that i even try to watch in real time
HM ok so i read some chapters of this manga a few years ago, and i remember thinking the story moved really fast so the drama's got that down... the lighting, colors, and angles make the drama feel experimental and different, but i mean the story is not realistic itself, so i think it's fitting. basically imagine if a smutty fanfiction fantasy became a b horror film thats mixed with the neo tokyo aesthetic
i dont normally watch medical dramas, but i havent watched a masaki drama in sooo long i had to start this... i realized halfway through i never read the synopsis, but even after reading it and watching the first episode, i still dont really know what to expect from the drama 🤔 but it seems like it could be interesting
honda tsubasa's acting is definitely bad, but the entire story has a little bit of an amateurish feel to it so i dont think it actually ruins the drama completely lol other than that, i am a little bit worried the story conflicts will become repetitive, but hopefully im wrong! really want to see how this drama ends
not exactly a bad drama... i enjoyed the first two eps because they were really leaning into the art side of it, and it's kind of refreshing (maybe i just need to seek more dramas about art), but... and this is really surprising to say, but i find sumire's acting very amateur. it's not that shes off character, but some of her scenes make me feel like im watching someone who just started acting
after sae graduate, the story is messy right?, its too complicated and sae never find happiness in her life, the…
i was looking forward to the time skip, hoping that would add to the story and make it better, but the drama writers really just wasted time by unnecessarily complicating things /-;
oh wow wasnt expecting to be emotionally moved by this drama esp bc i wasnt that invested in the romance part of it.... but i almost cried when shikahama and setsuna had to say goodbye
i mean maybe if the drama was focused on david and his brother, the beauty of their relationship and their bond won't be so hard-hitting, but i think it would have been interesting to see more of the brother
i've considered that maybe it is the director, but at the same time, i think kamio fuju is doing well in this so it's just strange
