Fascinating drama. Quite interesting to see the Japanese storytelling style so different than the Chinese and Korean of the same times. This series reminds me of the, also Japanese, Gokusen's style.
Also interesting to follow the main character's moral and ethical questions about changing History with his actions. Just finished season 1 and going to 2 now.

You can make cellphone calls in an airplane at 20,000+ feet high.
Add Starlink and VoIP and it can be easily done as they showed.
Other way? Install a gateway in the space lab and connect with the Iridium network.
There are surely other ways. 😉

Good drama. Could have been a bit better. Acting was all over the place with good ones and others really mediocre. Some of the plots were very predictable and, as usual, the way the main characters walked into the bad guys' traps was enerving sometimes. However, they balanced out and the end result was good.

The story concept is great. However, the writer made it drag too much and it led to a very boring pace sometimes. This series could be easily cut to 20 episodes. Besides that, some actors' acting was fine but others' was isufferable. I liked the folk band performances, which helped going on. The current rating is too much as it is.

This was an excellent drama. Screenwriting, acting, direction, soundtrack and particularly the special effects. Did they film at least part of it in those airplanes that simulate zero gravity to train astronauts? The actors' movements choreography in some scenes was perfect, as if they were really in zero gravity.

People need to watch the scenes and pay attention to the stuff not said, the meaning of some of the decisions and why some characters did what they did. It really deserves a much better rating than the one MDL is showing.

This is a great series and unfortunately another one unjustly underated on MDL. The production was very meticulous and does not seem to have spared anything showing a lack-of-gravity environment. I also liked how it questioned very rigid blind obedience vs. discipline and missing the big picture and the missions' objectives. Those "laws" about procreation in space looked very hipocritical when compared with what really happens on Earth regarding laws and costumes here. The ML showed conflicting behaviors but the most glaring was FL's when she had to deal with the situations presented to her.

The title is really fit, since it suggests deities (stars) making humans live similar situations making decisions "from outside" and "from inside" (as in the FL's case). It also left some questions unanswered but I like the way it did it. So, all in all, this is a series that deserves at least an 8 rating.

On a side note. Did they film this series (at least part of it) in those zero-gravity-simulation airplanes? Some scenes are too good to have been done using CGI and other special effects.

I do not agree. She was trying to portray someone with a college degree and aiming for management position. Furthermore, one can be cheerful without sounding like a five years old. Tons of examples in other series.

My impression is that EY's fans love that style and want to see her acting like that. Good for them. She could even "play cute" a little bit in some scenes. However, my head hurts with too much of it, mostly if the drama is trying to portray the corporate world.

I disagree. The main leads and make or break a drama since they have considerable air time. In EY's case, they keep putting her to play roles of females with mental development problems (i.e. someone over 20 talking and behaving like a five). This worked fine in Love Between Fairy and Demon because she was a very young fairy. She showed she can play other styles when she played the demon's demeanor in that same series. However in other series where she plays a 20+ years old but still talks like a five can make heads hurt.
This seems to please her fans who only care about her only playing that type of character. However, for the audience who wants an overall good quality production, this can easily break the mood to watch it.

Esther Yu is playing her usual five-years-old-mentally-developed girl role? I already forgot how many dramas with her talking and behaving like one I dropped. Probably will not even start this one.

This series indeed deserves a much higher rating. I gave it a 9.5 and believe it should get at least 9.

LOL! Yeah, I agree with you. Those scenes in the snow were simply surreal. It's like the screenwriter was on some acid trip. I made a few comments under spoiler a bit above yours. Sometimes I think actors have a hard job because I would be laughing my ass off if I had to film such scenes. 🤣🤣

The final scenes on the snow went overboard on the absurd. Starting from FL stabbing the crazy guy and not making sure here was dead, the ML putting FL on the horse and not going together, ML not using the sword to kill the bad guy and doing some kind of chick fight with him, bad guy causing the avalanche and ML staying buried in the snow for more than one day and not even having frostbite, forget suffocation, FL digging the snow barehanded, also no problems...
I mean, the screenwriter was in some kind of trance or an acid trip.

Nice and easy to watch drama with many funny moments that made it very entertaining. It's one of those that are easy to binge watch and not skip anything. The production was detailed and the director and actors did an excellent job. The story had a goofy moment by the end (comment under spoiler) but the overall result was still very good.

MDL lists several different title variations in the a.k.a. section. I notice that for several titles we can find the one we are looking for when we type one of them. Doing the same for the FSM series would help, since the titles are changing.

Thanks! So there's where Love in Pavillion comes from. I thought it was pretty clear by now that they are independent stories based in a common book (or book set?). MDL should keep the original title at least in the a.k.a. to help finding the info

This issue (getting pretty ladies passing as men) seem to be also ingrained in Chinese dramas where they dress them in men's clothes and add a small moustache and litteraly everyone think they are men. I've been laughing really hard in some scenes. 😂😂

Awesome series. Many plot twists to keep it entertaining until the end. Everything just right from direction, acting and meticulous production. It has a good pace in general and was easy to binge watch without fast forwarding or skipping anything.

Aren't there three series? One already completed and two to go. However, when I search MDL, now only two come up: this and the completed one. Anything happened to the third? Am I missing anything?
