I haven't seen a drama like this in quite a while.
It is basically people being miserable and in misunderstandings for the sake of being miserable and misunderstandings

I just watched the 1st ep
this drama feels so bleak. Like is the 2 ml going to lie to the fl so that she stays with him and even use her?
the ml is going to be used by the masked guy?

the dragon deity seems to be also sealed and the only dragon around is wu shi

so is chi wen just a fox impersonating the dragon deity?
and I bet he actually wants to get the dragon powers so he becomes a real dragon?

I think in terms of plot their trip to the void and even the time the ml was a spirit made no sense because they took all the tension out of the story.
The drama had a great start but it went out of its way to answer all the misteries in 15 eps and then to take us out of the human world that was looking really interesting, show us the spirit world and then take us back to the human world.

The problem is that now there is no tension. the ml is aimless because he isn't going to conquer 14 cities in a satisfying way in 10 eps and we are just spending time until the 2nd ml gets enough power to take action against the fl. At this point even she must suspect that he is going to betray her

after seeing the preview from the next ep what if it is the foxes that are bad and sometimes are controled by the big villain?
That would also explain why the 2nd fl is so obecessed in getting free from her sect and make the dragon deity not the monster we have been led to believe he is.

she never hear of a trashcan, alcool and matches...

I feel like the only way to save this drama would be if jun ho and the grandfather are working together behind the scenes to uncover what is going on.

Because who knows xu kai career has seen him in comic characters, wooden characters, tragic characters, normal characters... The guy has a huge range.

For me his biggest problem is that his dramas haven't created enough hype. I can't understand how dramas like love in the clouds or whispers of fate that at most have similar quality to sword and fairy (and I think I am being very nice in the comparison) but have much more heat. And worst of all. wonderland of love is a much better drama than those 2 combined and I doubt it has simillar popularity...

I think that isn't really acurate.
Until 2021 xu kai was on the path of being an idol getting roles in dramas that were really sucessfull.

I agree that he diversified after that. But the truth is that he has had more sucess with projects that aren't suposed to generate much hype like his modern dramas that the dramas that were suposed to increase his popularity.

We can't ignore that lost in the kunlun mountains, snow eagle lord, sword and fairy and moonligth reunion are very average dramas that failed to raise his fame.

The best drama of that type he did was wondeland of love that for some bizare reason didn't have enough publicity to make it a huge hit when it aired.

I can't believe he has tons of projects to choose from because around 80% of his projects are fl centered or they suck.

unfortunately this is the truth.
there are so many problems with the story of this drama and how far the ml was willing to hurt himself for any person that I won't even mention them. I think I lost count how many times the bad guys attacked and the ml never killed them...

And I think most chinese dramas in the last months become REALLY bad toward the end. no idea why...

actually, it might be a drama like heroes (hope I remembered the name right).
where there was 2 mls and 1 fl. the mls were basically 2 friends trying to rise in the martial arts world and both had their moments and the main male lead had a romance plot.

I don't why anyone would cast these actors as the main cp.
the ml leads most of the time looks like a lost puppy and the fl leads like his mother guiding him (and I am not saying this because of the age of the actress but the vibe her character has).

There is no romantic chemistry between them. And I don't get why han mei was suposed to look like a possible love interest. That just drives away the people that don't like reverse harems. Hell, I have no idea why the show tried to be a reverse harem when the fl doesn't ever care about the 2 other male actors...

this makes a lot of sense and ties well with the story.
but at this point it would be interesting to know what is the cure and how it works.

Everybody assumes there is only 1 cure and that the ml has taken it, so is the fl going to steal the cure from the ml body and let him to die? Or at this point she thinks he wouldn't give her the cure if he can?

also, did the hert imprint stop the poison in the fl body?

the people in this drama are so self centered and egotistical.
All the major problems happen because of that.

he can claim whatever he wants.
he leaked fsg's battle plan and helped xjs devise a plan to would kill fsg and most of his army. even fu yi xiao tells him he is lying because of this in the same scene...

he is just too evil in the drama. He is the kind of character that c-dramas like to sacrifice near the end to show there was some good in him...

He literally ploted to kil fsg in the first episodes. The plan was for fsg to die in the first battle...
then he helped xjs escape and that is against his kingdom interests.
he gave money that should have gone to his country's army to xjs so he is a traitor

xjs betrayed his country and his soldiers much worse than the princess.
He kidnaps kids, tortures them, fakes saving them and then has them serving in the army for him! xjs is the most despicable character in the entire drama and completly unforgivable.
