The leads being alive goes against all logic

This drama really confuses me.
Since the beguining that I feel like half of it is amazing and the other half is crap.
The dialogues, music, humor, romance and some fight scenes are awesome.

But then there are things that make no sense.

Like LTG is built to be a great antagonist that gives scary and psico vibes in the beguining. And then he is turned into a crybaby that trows tantrums all the time. He literaly looses all momentum built from the beguining of the drama after he met his master. And he keeps beeing an awful person doing awful shit until near the end when he does an 180 and becomes an incompetent leader (he was a great leader) and starts liking and respecting the ml.

Or how the drama spent too much time draging their journey to save the emperor and then had to make a million things happen on the last 10 eps or so. A lot of things were rushed and not properly explored.

It is typical chinese drama ending. Don't think about it because it isn't suposed to make sense. If you want a happy ending then you can invent wild and impossible theories for them to be alive.

If you want a story that makes sense then they are dead.

The scene with the kid is just stupid and typical chinese ending.
Basically they give the drama a sad ending but then in the last second invent a happy ending that doesn't make sense so that the audiences don't revolt.

It should be impossible for that kid to be the leads son.

LTG is just badly written. At the beguining he looks like a psicopatic villain, then he becomes a moma's boy (sorry shifu's boy) always crying for his moma and trowing tantrums and by the end he fails miserably at leading troops despite him being a great leader in the beguining of the drama.

wait, they give the award of most anticipated drama to a series of dramas? that is so funny.

I believe he is very popular overseas because he did a lot of very interesting dramas in the past. But this year sel kind of floped and wol doesn't feel as big as other dramas this year. for example, we would be hard pressed to say it was bigger than kunning palace that aired at the same time (though I think wol apeals to a wider ocidental audience than kunnning palace).

For example, the ml of my journey to you and kunning palace was in 2 huge dramas this year.Or the guy from till the end of the moon.

edit: if you are talking about actors that participated in big hits from tencent then maybe you are right because I don't think they had many great dramas this year.

Because I garantee that the most anticipated drama of 2024 is joy of life s2 and pretty sure that there were more popular actors than him overseas this year. I find it hard to believe that he is more popular than the actors that participated in the big hits this year...

yeah 2025. and if he films dramas that are not cgi intensive after midnight reunion it might also air early 2025 or even late 2024.

sword and fairy already has its distribution license. It will air much earlier than june. And maybe tencent will apply the same strategy to yang zi and air lyf2 shortly before best choice ever.

At least I think it makes sense for them to release modern dramas after costume dramas to use the popularity of the actors at the time.

Until 2022 xu kai had a great career. He played characters diferent from each other and even had a drama (alp) where he played 3 versions of the same character.
Even in 2022 his bad drama is lost in the kunlun mountains. I didn't see the other 2 but I guess even though their story could also have been better they had good audiences.
Then this year snow eagle lord floped and wol was kind of boicoted by the powers that be.

Having 3 dramas released almost sequentialy might be an interesting adverstising strategy.
And the new drama will probably be released early 2025, though I hope not. The cgi of TLI took 8 moths and it isn't that good.

I think both his upcoming modern dramas are out of the box choices. They will either be a big hit or a miss.

SaF should be pretty good.

the rumors are sof in january, abay in fev and bce in march/april.
