Eyeglasses, ok I see.But...earbuds gesture ?Why ?But you are right, it's so good.I don't expect a long developping…
maybe Ye will surprise Xu (us) with a high-end sound system gift~
"he's also the one who's pursuing Ye more and putting more into their budding relationship." ---> this is true as of ep4, but i kinda sway towards the mindset that the one being pursued doesnt necessarily mean that the pursued undervalues/lets down the pursuer?
On the giving back from Ye, i think the student council thing is a plot device waiting to explode soon so we might see how Ye gives.
At this age (high school) individuals are more concerned about expressing themselves so the other party knows their feelings (as opposed to cold hearted adults like us who have to consider emotional investment and possible reciprocation cos there aint much love left to give after X years). My point is, Ye accepting Xu's gift and expressing, wanting to connect and be more intimate with him is kinda a gift for Xu already (for high schoolers' maturity - i repeat)
Im excited to see the flaws now cos it means we can journey with them on their growth through the episodes~
Definitely a surprise given that they're mostly newbies (ye guang's actor contributed his own first kiss for this…
agree - i thought that ep 3 had a sudden jump in how Zhang and Guang interacted - more scenes to show them easing up to interact with one another at school would help
and did Guang realise that it was Zhang from the brand of the paper notes yet!! someone tell me
I’m pretty sure in an interview, one of them said it’s his first kiss both in real life and on screen
Just a slight correction!
It's the first kiss on the shooting set and the director wanted to keep the 'first bashful kiss' feels so she told them not to practice kiss (but they did just before the scene)
So in a way it was a first intimate contact in that manner for them
Then, For YeGuang's actor it was his own first kiss contributed to 'about youth'
QiZhang's actor is too experienced for it to be his first hahah (this one from another interview)
Am native speaker so this is what i hear, didn't pay attention to the subs
With Episodes 3 and 4, the series starts to show how it was constructed using familiar parts of many other BLs.…
The earphones thing is a trope too, i think.
I saw it on chinese comments that it's a romantic thing/expression to give something you really like to someone you really like. (把自己喜欢的东西 送给 自己喜欢的人)
And this much is supposed to be huge social signs/flags for the other to know of the liking already.
At this point I'm not sure if YeGuang doesn't know or is faking it, or rolling along (given the character's age yet knowing of relationships like Ray's, it could go both ways)
This is sooo sweet. I love these boys.1 - I felt ofended when Ye Guang mother threw away the soup. Exactly like…
Regarding 2 - ' it's for your own good ' trope. Not sure what failed pursuits the dad is trying to live through his son, or what kind of trophy son he needs to show off to his peers. Mom is showing some miniscule protectiveness and love but it ain't amounting to anything if all she has is intention and not action (plus she adds to the stress)
3 - panic, yes. Gay panic? Don't see it haha. Qizhang has been liking YeGuang for so long, if anything i feel it's more like heart racing + hormones
Fun fact YeGuang actor said in an interview that when they practice kiss for the scene (not a spoiler, we know it's coming cos the trailer showed it), his healthwatch thing showed that his heart rate went up to 144 (Was also his own first kiss)
Definitely a surprise given that they're mostly newbies (ye guang's actor contributed his own first kiss for this drama too - that's how young they are)
Casting choice was great, there's a healthy amount of similar traits of actors and their characters for the energy to be realistic
Kudos to the director for sharp eyes and knowing how to draw all these out!
I still have gripes about some sloppy editing but it's gotten better for the new eps
I'm a bit disappointed with the execution aspects of this series. The editing are clunky, kinda ruined some moments.…
agree with the editing and the stiff acting (more pronounced in solo scenes, generally not as bad for duo/group scenes) . Think the actors don't have that much acting experience under their belt at the moment.
the weird camera angles also get to me..
but yeah the couple dynamics are great (casting well done), the script and plot decent, and the music is apt! the song lyrics also seem to talk about the first couple's relationship
one looks at him as a trophy kid
the other treats him like a puppet doll
no sense of human warmth in the family.
come on we need a season 2

Hope it turns out well in the end - i speak the language but am not aquainted with their politics
Hope it doesn't affect the actors and production team since this really is more a management decision by the production company.
oh wells
do share what political reasons though - by DM if it's sensitive. am interested to find out
and did Guang realise that it was Zhang from the brand of the paper notes yet!! someone tell me
im not trying to start a fire, but by 'local' do u you mean the show's not doing well in Taiwan or do u mean out of Taiwan too?
It's only 9cny (1.5usd thereabouts)
Worth it! Since i understand chinese and can see all the hilarious/interesting/thirsty/fanboy/fangirl floating comments
(It had 800 over floating comments for ep1 last i checked lol)
It's some japanese song that has nice light pop jazz/blues voice

'meeting you when i most needed someone to care'
For both couples at this point 🫶

And hate it when anyone touches you cos everything is confusing hormonally

If you can't beat them, join them?
(Not sure if it counts as joining heh)

I shld have waited till at least 4 were out
