Title My Only 12%
I see some people disliking Earth's character, and just my 2 cents about it. Seeiw is in love with Cake and does…
agree completely and i think the key thing you pointed out was that Eiw does not fully understand his feelings of 'am i still important to you' (i.e. jealousy)

assuming the translation is correct, we still dont know Eiw's understanding of 'Cake kinda seeing Rin now (Cake said so himself)'. As of now, both Eiw and Cake are at the tender age (literally, they are SO YOUNG) to explore the definitions of friendship and romance (boundaries), and the realisations, questions will follow after.

i also like that the episodes before also show us that they are not completely clueless about their closeness and what it may lead people to misunderstand (scene where boys were making fun of Eiw and Cake in school when they were hanging out and being close)

im excited for the entering of a new character - just hope he's not a jerk, please portray reasonableness for budding romance for that age please. So far so good.

i KNOW this show is gonna break my heart cos Earth is getting better at those dramatic/crying scenes. Just show me mercy and let the angst be resolved well and not dragged out

The wabisabi studio flavor is just right for this plot.

The uncle character is wonderful! I'm sure he will be a useful source of advice, just like the uncle in "My Ride".
ah yes you're right! i avoid all male bathroom etiquette by going straight for the stalls/cubicles cos urinals are absolutely disgusting cos they're not cleaned as much as the cubicles are. but that's just for me.

excited for the next episode.

im interested if Q is really oblivious of X's advances or if he's hiding stuff. and yes i still need that backstory of X noticing Q

true! i need to remember the setting and age - these are boys. Not everyone is Q's hot uncle.

the male apparatus shame brings it a bit too far in character for someone who's already aware that he's in love with said person - but perhaps that's just my view

I’ve been thinking about this as well and came to the conclusion that Vee must have felt some kind of way about…
just jumping in late to this discussion - i think the 'moment' that made it clearer for me that Vee's really into Mark emotionally, rather than just a ambiguous concern mixed with physical lust thing, was when Vee took Mark on his bike across the bridge to make a wish.

There's a scene in the director's cut version that speaks very clearly that it was a turning point for Vee as Mark held onto Vee's shirt while riding the bike. (it's also the scene where Vee made a wish upon the bridge sincerely for Mark to end up happy with someone who loves him)

im probably the minority who's in love with Frank (actor: Bigboom Jirayu). Pleasant surprise to see him again as i've just noticed him as Dr. Ana in 1 puny role for Love Mechanics.

it looks like he's gonna get his heart broken by the cool big sister., i hope he has a happy ending! (what am i saying at only episode 1)

@jpny01 "I would also like to climb Q's uncle, but that's not important right now." ------> LOL preach it.

i had the same sentiments as you for the show. however im not exactly convinced on why X has to be mean/cheeky to Q in order to be noticed?

Just by the characterization it feels as if being nice/gentle + having the right opportunity to get to know Q would suffice for X's entry.

perhaps im missing more backstory/history

I’d dropped the 2020 version because it seemed poorly developed. However, now that I’ve seen most of the 2022…
do share - i tried to watch the original but oh man there're like 999 things that throw me off, from the production value, to acting skills, to script, tone in line delivery etc

coz i watched the 2022 version first so the earlier one looks too much like a downgrade for me to continue beyond half and episode.

do share with me the charms u find and perhaps i will benefit from your perspective

the whole point of this show is to hate Vee and painstakingly tell Mark to find a better manyet lose ourselves…
yeah absolutely messy cos all cheaters around the place - no need for homewreckers cos they're all wrecking their own homes.

i believe Vee did like, and loved Ploy though, but it was probably cos it was warm and comfortable to have partnered together, and there was no reason to be apart. Story insinuated that they got together cos it felt like the next step to do after being homecoming king and queen. what puzzles me is that it lasted for 3 years.. I wouldnt have hung on just to a comfortable relationship for that long if it didnt have soul in it.

but as Vee said to his brother at home, Mark was the only one Vee truly felt serious about.

there are 99 things i could have advised Vee as a friend to get his s*** together and make things clearer - but if it were real life i'd tell Mark to stay 10 feet away from this man, it's not worth it.

Nuea is definitely the better choice given the fact that he's actually single (looks, being rich aside) and not a hoe - AND ACTUALLY cares for Mark, makes it clearcut straightforward and nothing ambiguous

sadly, it's not just logical decisions when it comes to love.

Mark must have hated himself many times for feeling and doing what he did, too.

That scene in the orientation hotel room when Vee verbally abused, insulted Mark (projected his insecurities and hurt from Ploy to Mark, essentially) - oh gawd i wanted to slap Vee with my slippers.

War's acting had good flair/vibes to begin with and he improved further with the characterisation in this version. Yin's acting shot wayyy up - i have to say he was really sub-par in the previous version, and acting across War then made him look even worse. Thank goodness they all improved.

The actor playing Nuea is hotter in this series lol

I also think it’s because his voice sounds like a baby that it makes you forget that he’s older than YIn.…
fun fact - Prom (actor for Nuea) is even younger (the youngest of them). that was shocking to me
i look at my potato face and erm

Title Love Mechanics Spoiler
So in the entire series thus far, everything and its grandmother has been predictable (w/a nonexistent plot),…
i'd spoiler tag cos not all have seen -
but it seems to me that Vee did not close the door on purpose (there was a small scene just to show that)

he wanted to show that he wanted to respect and treasure Mark and not go beyond boundaries again - he just managed to 'officially' get forgiven and loved by Mark

Mark has no need for this consideration?! the seduction values are off the chart and Vee got too lost and forgot about the door he INTENTIONALLY left open out of 'respect'

SEE WHERE IT GOT THEM.

on another note, i guess it pushes the plot forward as a penultimate episode lol.

Seriously his acting in that scene was amazing.. I really want to know what happened from the miniseries to now…
he definitely worked hard, but the acting coach really deserves a raise for grooming both Yin and War in the acting department well.

and while not all of us may like it, need to thank WeTV and sponsors cos BUDGET for coaching, workshops, production values etc

i think the fast track for ep 9 was a bad decision, it really just ruined the experience for those who can't afford…
classic WeTV technique.. hate it. it happens for many of China's streaming platforms also. They couldnt care less about it affecting the popularity of the show (and actors) and the audience's viewing experience - it's just about money.

i can't believe Vee said that to Mark in episode 6... guys, i TRIED to like him so bad but it's impossible! now…
the whole point of this show is to hate Vee and painstakingly tell Mark to find a better man
yet lose ourselves in the journey of Mark's belief and courage to search and fight for love.

definitely not the healthiest relationship around, but Mark is willing to give up so much (of his dignity even) just to comfort and make broken hearted Vee happier (yes even while Vee is also a hoe like ploy)

messy.

Mai needs to leave and get a life away from Tim. Keep the friendship but experience other relationships, you deserve better. I wont call shade on Tim cos he made it clear that he was selfish and brought that straight on the table.

Even that 'joke' that Tim made about them being together was a dagger in Mai's heart cos there's nothing on Tim's actions that showed any signs of him moving Mai out of friendzone (and of course Mai would say no - to me it wasn't Mai's chance to confess again. at this point the only person treating Mai's liking for Tim as a joke is only Tim)

Next week Mek finally lets his hair down and maybe there's a kiss between him and Kim ... if it doesn't get interrupted…
something tells me the kiss is a dream sequence or something haha

agree with the overacting - if it's for comedic purposes then perhaps they should push it even further with effects and comedic timing etc. right now the level of over-acting is kinda in-between and awkward because the script, plot, camera language and effects don't support it.

it's most of the casts' first time acting i guess?

ok people i've never watched the prequel/previous version of this and i dont mean to start any wars.
just kinda a technical/skills view

Dude acting as Mark has excellent expressions, line deliveries, and looks very relaxed in his acting. Vee isn't bad but when he's acting opposite Mark it really, really shows. Especially scenes where one is supposed to throw the emotion/response to the other.

So this disparity kinda throws me off, and some scenes i'd rather Mark acts worse so i dont feel so unsatisfied

pls don't shred me people bye
