Another stellar episode. I was impressed with some of the lines used here;GIA- just because you were loved once…
"- how do you tell someone that you will never love them when they are asking for a chance to love you. - im too afraid to say it directly, because i was once the one asking for a chance."
the emotions here were conveyed really well by Dunk - who has no acting experience for major roles.
female actress for Papang did well to set the mood/tone as well - majority of the lines at the front part were hers - good line delivery! Actor for Phoon took the baton pass excellently too.
Dunk's pauses and injection of emotions was apt for the setting - he wouldn't straight up cry, but would have internal emotional tension as he reopened his wounds while facing this situation again.
i was initially disappointed that the duration for part 4 was so short - but the content did not fail to deliver.
im rooting for phoon at this point, but we all know his heart will be shattered to pieces like how Gia's was, when Kluen found out he didnt like her (inferred from the QnA that Kluen answered on stage).
in real, non-tv show life though, i'll tell Daonuea to be with Phoon (and stay away from Kluen), as Phoon is warm and sensitive enough to hold your wounded heart and help take your past hurts away. importantly, he's CLEAR and STRAIGHTFORWARD when he has to be, and he makes sure to do it at a comfortable distance too (respect)
Not sure if anyone caught that sad / hurt look from Gia's usually-sparkly eyes when Kluen was answering the question on stage.
at some point (maybe even now), Gia was in love with Kluen and told him. Kluen took time to examine himself if he'd really love her - i.e. he tried, but didn't like her in the end.
This explains that somewhat mask that Gia puts on when she's with Kluen, i keep feeling like she's forcing herself to be happy.
Perhaps this timing coincided with Kluen figuring out his feelings for Daonuea too? at least Gia knows properly that Kluen doesn't love her that way.
I still have no plot idea what's stopping Kluen from being clear though, his personality to keep things inside ain't cutting it.
at this rate im rooting for Daonuea to be with anyone other than Kluen - every single closer move without clear intentions by Kluen is just scraping Daonuea's old wounds deeper and deeper (coupled with the fact that Daonuea doesn't know Kluen is single and would end up blaming himself for his own uncontrolled emotions towards Kluen).
so sometimes i enjoy going onto the chinese 'version' of youtube (bilibili) to rewatch the episodes cos they do floating comments from other viewers while the video plays coz it's really fun (feels like you're watching with a whole room of people)
but for some reason for this show, there's not much of a chinese audience?? doesnt make sense to me cos there are other wayyy lower budget, lower quality shows that have a following on bilibili.
I can't remember if I was looking forward to this or not because there's like a dozen series I'm watching or waiting…
agree with you - but at the same time i've learnt that it's not just about the plot/ideas but the execution. Bad Buddy (which Dunk had a teeny cameo in) gave me a slap on the face for it - the plot was literally simple, just enemies to lovers. but the execution in terms of acting detail, camera angles, framing, editing, pacing etc made everything quite exciting.
at the end of the day it's a team effort, but of course the first line of raw footage needs to come from decent acting, good script, and purposeful directing.
I wouldnt say this is top-tier, but im kinda feeling some chemistry, decent levels of acting for now. Hopefully it's an upward climb.
the only thing that's pissing me off plot wise is how Kluen is so tight-lipped about his relationship status with Gia for no reason (for now)
Forget the reality of this world and dive into love...In this deliberate attempt to write a review, i would like…
the second ML (roy xie) has such natural acting.. in fact the two female leads were alright too. sadly, first ML's character is not easy to act, and his acting feels the most unpolished (a good attempt though)
Yes you are correct. I’m guessing it’s bc he is young. He was probably like 19 when they filmed this. With…
not sure about the age thing, could be plausible!
additionally, i saw one reason on chinese sites was that a song was sung in the scene by the female lead - but the team had no budget to pay for the song to be used (this director's budget is always sad i have no idea why)
lol I love this show already and I majorly feel the affection between them, and the dynamics going on. I am all…
i think there's a high chance for a good ending with marriage in mind even - the dudes are proper working adults with financially stable jobs (lawyers.. they earn more than most already)
but it being a taiwan-japan collab is worrying me - let's hope they dont do an 'open-ended' ending just cos they're 'special'
I thought Jirachon was LukChub’s brother. His reaction was strong. Also this series is giving Love Stage vibes.
you accurately brought up every single thing that annoyed the hell outta me this episode.
my somewhat halo for Phai is now gone - he's gone past the overprotective bestie line, with just unfounded delusions, and being unreasonable, rude and accusative. He could have politely declined and been nice about it from the start. let's hope there's something in the plot to redeem him..
my boy Lukchub needs to stand up for himself and not get led around by the nose (though yes i'd admit some parts of the date do look cute). For the 39th time, i'd like for LukChub to formally, bravely, ask to 'define the relationship', or at least define what it isnt. I think he realises it somehow but is too entrenched in infatuation to consider the long-term happiness.
On Jirachin.. this should be the brother. I recall there was a flashback on Lukchub's mom being an actress and leaving the house or sth. Something along the lines of not having Lukchub in the limelight to protect him etc. (let's see how Lukchub's family storyline pans out, im quite interested in it). I wonder how Lukchub feels towards Jirachin, he doesnt seem very present in his life - im hoping for GOOD DRAMA between him and Ram. Dude Ram has been at peace and chill for too long, just bullying my boy chub HAHA.
After Joong and Dunk are done with this mini series, they need to be in another one lol. Dunk is just so cute…
i liked Dunk from his minor role days in Bad Buddy alr for his vibes and voice (the voice - the audiophiles will understand me, that timbre is rare.)
his interpretation of body language, line delivery and eye expression are the top few things that need work - so im pretty glad it's a mini series for him to hone these stuff. Director P'New knows his stuff so it's a good level up experience for Dunk.
plot is simple but clear, told cleanly. Director New's screen cuts timing and change of scene pacing is on point, as usual - no sense of discomfort at all. The angles and framing are great, too. Lighting feels slightly less polished than his other productions, but no biggie. pacing.. we'll have to see.
regarding enchante.. everyone understands the assignment except for enchante's production team, excuse me for the bluntness.
I hope Ram can be clearer to Chub. Don't torture Chub like this... after all that and it's not a date? I wonder…
i was kinda triggered cos at some time it felt like Ram was playing with LukChub's emotions when there was no 'good fun' to do so. Lukchub really needs to stand up for himself - i hope there's a turning point/dramatic plotline that forces him to do so - to lift their relationship from primary school level to proper mature adults in college.
Missed opportunity!

get your @#$%^&* together, Kluen!

weird.

and mind you they were pretty important scenes! (kiss scenes that signify breakthroughs in the relationship)

so that scene had to be cut

of course that does not absolve either of them of their wrong in this.
status-check, relationship talk, please!

it's superb storytelling and plot but erm trigger warning everywhere lol

you'll have a seat in heaven for your contributions, thanks Typhoon
still not exactly convinced about Kluen buying Nuea's 'im over you' deal.
dude has stars in his eyes when Kluen is around
