what is going on with the editing and pacing of this show??!! i want to like it and can overlook the amateurish acting, but you need to at least give me a good/decent story flow?
does this go on for all the episodes (i've only watched 1 and 2)
I'm not saying that I take Gao xi's side, not at all, moreover she annoys me too and I don't find her so professional…
seeing the episode count, i think there might be one later down the road. im okay for it as long as it is reasonable and there's rationale - not MISCOM please thanks/
i do hope they address how they come to terms with their differences and accept each other. they DO have a 10-year age gap and have vastly different habits, personalities. I hope the scripting does a good job in showing beautifully how two different worlds clash, break, and form a new universe together, and grow/develop together.
I saw so many comments about confusion on Lian's sudden behavior change. Imo, it's not sudden. Lian and Kuea were…
thank you for clarifying/explaining the motivations, it was helpful.
unfortunately, it just goes to show that the scripting is sub-par to communicate all these to the audience (i don't think it's a problem with Zee's acting, at least).
While plot development takes time, there is a limit to the audience's patience to wait for the 'big reveal' on Lian's inner thoughts and rationales.
It is a TV drama, and engaging audience thought processes and emotions should be a huge consideration too. We don't even need big revelations, but small bites (meaningful bites, please) of Lian's thoughts with context might have been helpful.
So far, most of the scenes where Lian speaks to himself or thinks out loud just presents his current emotions, instead of giving us a glimpse of his rationale or thought patterns. The only scene done decently for this purpose was the flashback to his conversation with his dad on business and kuea - more of those please!
Same thoughts. My best guess is the conversation they had at the race track and bar that made them realise they…
that's a plausible explanation - if it's really so though, i hoped the directing/script would give clues that he's doing so. right now it seems like he's 'believing' in that duty, which is inappropriate and unwanted.
@Merlin Kun now that you've mentioned it - 'sneaking out of the house' is also weird. at that age, it would be normal to head out and just.. have a life and friends..
cultural differences + im not from a rich ass and long heritage family to understand HAHA
i feel a bit confused after this episode. how come hia lian and hia yi's behaviour suddenly changed? i welcome…
Same thoughts. My best guess is the conversation they had at the race track and bar that made them realise they had to realise their faults and 'take action'.
That being said, i don't think the script was that smooth in bringing that across. I have more misgivings about Lian and all that talk about 'straighten him out' to Kuea's mother - perhaps it's a translation mistake or just cultural difference.
Dude is old enough to makw decisions/say no to things - even if they're seemingly bad choices. He has to bear the weight of his actions and responsibilities..
Well put. I agree 100%. I think even the bully did well in making the most of a small part . I mean, he really…
agree with you - the setting is vastly different also.
High school vs university. and with family baggages.
emotional outbursts are into crying scenes and embraces based on the different personalities of the characters as well.
in general the whole vibe is different - SE feels more punk/pop filters while CBAW feels more 'light family drama' + 'coming of age' vibe (of which both i enjoy cos it fits the theme of the story)
Same! But it was actually better that he cried, in my opinion😁Jin is such a good fit for this character. He's…
im sincerely impressed because the actor for haebom isnt even experienced? like he's a singer who started / am trying out to act it seems.
the crying scenes are decent and the whole vibe of being cute isnt overly done that it becomes cringey. Line delivery with emotions and pauses are not bad too. Kudos to the director for guiding the actors into the mood/scene well.
I love this show and I'm impressed by how it evokes a mood of gentle, tenderness, and how there is that age old…
I feel that the floral shop is probably set by the scriptwriter as a separate space for Haebom to think, feel and be away on his own (aside from the part-time job to show growing independence)
he could reflect/introspect in the house too, but the mood is different because of what the house means to him at this point - a nice auntie's house.
but the floral shop space is a boundary that truly belongs to him and not anything to do with Taesung and his mother.
I foresee that the safe/isolated space in the floral shop will have more importance later on when tension arises and the house area becomes 'unsafe' to tread, or where hae bom is not ready to face at that point in time.
Kuea is insecure with Lian's brainless move (saying that he doesnt love Kuea) ----> defense mechanism in 'being who i am' and screw the person who rejected me (though I pretended so hard to be a version i thought he liked) + tension cos I still like him [journey of self-discovery, 'free to be me']
Lian is insecure AF cos of upbringing, circumstance, and his innate fear of failure be perfect and successful (for Kuea and to fit Kuea's noble family). Makes it worse that the love of his life (Kuea) only likes the 'perfectly suitable' Lian and not his full, complete self because - 1. Kuea did not show his true complete self to Lian - 2. cos Lian himself did not show the 'imperfect' real self to Kuea (cant blame Kuea, he doesnt even see your other side?! even if he can fall in love he needs to at least be aware that it exists??!!)
Defense mechanism as Kuea is on 'self-discovery' ----> chain him closer to me on the pretext of guardianship cos i am insecure AF and hope Kuea understands that i love him (HOW about instead of telling Kuea how u reject his 'fake self', wouldnt it be better to show him that you accept his every face?)
(dude you expecting a younger kid to be more mature than you?)
if we're to go into themes of Lian and Kuea liking versions of each other that are not complete and having the same incomplete fear of the other party's liking (yes it's a logical mouthful) - the plot and script needs to be a little better at portraying their tensions and development (flow, pacing) so the audience can appreciate their actions better. (even wrong/pathetic actions that trespasses on each other's rights - resolve it later though please) Character development thank you.
There are moments where the acting and chemistry shoots real sky high - just hoping for more consistency as we go into the later episodes.
Excellent job for NuNew as it's his first project though!
The other couple.. i love yall cute but the acting needs to improve. Yall have more chemistry with yr friends than with each other. hope it gets better too in the later episodes.
I had this feeling that Pat's declaration of love for Pran in EP10 was devised by Pran and Wai.If we recall EP6…
to add on, besides Pat taking the challenge to declare his love for Pran in front of the 'enemy' faculty
i'd like to appreciate the fact that Pran, being such a private person at the beginning, would choose to allow/set up this whole scenario - if anything i feel it's indirectly Pran saying that 'i want to show you to my whole faculty' 'i want to let them know i love you too'
perhaps plus a teeny bit of ' haha you guys are so single af'
For those who went through a weekly dose of BBS, do you regret you did not wait for the whole series to end for…
i hate to admit it but i actually like being clowned by the director's teaser previews
yes i scream bitch but i like the whole suspense and 'could be's' that the preview shows - it's kinda like a side-series altogether when people get involved to guess what happens next

Halfway through this episode I'm like - isn't this what you wanted Kuea.
And the lack of common sense when it comes to proximity and relationships..
I'm just sticking it out cos the production quality is not bad, songs are nice, and cast is likeable. But the script by far is a bit disappointing
That being said, i don't think the script was that smooth in bringing that across. I have more misgivings about Lian and all that talk about 'straighten him out' to Kuea's mother - perhaps it's a translation mistake or just cultural difference.

Kiyoi can have Hira, they're meant to be
can i have kazuki please thanks ><
hoping the actor gets more shows and lead roles, his acting and portrayal is quite natural and line delivery, emotion balance is very fitting.
can u believe that Jimmy is quite a bit older than Ohm!!
