Sure! I am a big fan of rebirth/time travel/magical do-over stories, so that probably has a lot to do with it. I really enjoyed the ost and cinematography in this one, I felt like it captured the emotions of the characters really well. The mystery about FL's past life as empress held my interest, I think I am one of the few who actually liked the constant flashbacks haha. The political intrigue and ML revenge plot line was very well done imo, I never felt bored with it. Not a single episode bored me, actually.
I liked all of the characters, even the villains, they all acted their parts very well. ZLH did an amazing job portraying such a complex character, though I can see how XW could put people off. tbh, I didn't like him either until I understood his character and story. I liked how the FL felt mature, like she had done and seen it all before (which is true because this is a do-over for her), it made her character feel more believable.
As for the romance, it's one of the best I've seen. It's not your typical sweet romance, I understand why some people might not be into it. To me it was clear how much the ML loved the FL, he was desperate for her and had difficulty controlling those strong emotions, especially during his snowy episodes when the trauma of his childhood would affect him. The fire between the ML and FL felt real, and it was captured well. I think their love story becomes really special when you can understand both of their true feelings about each other, and the world around them. ML doesn't know how to love properly, which is not a suprise when you look at his life and how he was brought up. I love how FL tells him in the extra 38.5 ep that she has seen every side of him, the good and the bad, and that she will teach him how to love someone properly. This is such a good scene! It's the best happy ending I've ever seen in a drama, I feel like most of them skip over the happily ever after.

ayyy I also started watching this drama because of WXY! 🥰 ...it took a while for him to make an appearance, and when he finally did I was so excited~ 😂 I especially liked that the FL was already in love with him.
imo it was good that XW and ZZ weren't skilled at fighting, it felt more realistic and it also gave Yan Lin a chance to shine. mannnn YL was so cool in the fight scenes.

girl, I agree! NOTHING can justify what he did in the past life. but I am just saying that we can see (not justify) how he got there, the circumstances weren't normal. what happened to him was enough to make any sane person become unhinged. pls don't take this as me making excuses for him tho, because as I said before... his past life actions are unforgivable and unjustifiable. what he did was disgusting. my love is only for present life YL. In my mind I see past life YL and present life YL almost as two different people, one has made all the wrong choices in life, the other has made all the right choices. same with past life/present life JXN. It's very interesting to see, and one of the reasons why I love this drama.

he's unforgivable in the past life, but JXN wasn't a good person either and mercilessly discarded him at his worst moment when he really needed her. I'm absolutely not saying that justifies what he did though. but he lost everything, and her "betrayal" pushed him over the edge. you can see what a great person he can be when his family and friends are at his side, even when he is constantly getting rejected by the person he loves. but yea you're right, he is made to look like a saint in the present life and maybe he's a little too good to be true, but I love it. 😭
I'm only on ep 2 but Kisaragi Toko looked so much better with long hair, and she feels like a different character in this season... maybe I just preferred her when she was a rookie detective?
For some reason I'm not enjoying it as much as the previous seasons (which I love), I guess it's the lack of Toremi... 😭
