The novel briefly went through the nine lifetimes so it wasnt bad but I skipped this novel back then because it was long and the pace was slow lol. As for good xianxia novels, Shang Gu is being adapted into Ancient Love Poetry with Xu Kai and Zhou Dongyu. He might topped as most patient male lead lol. Other novels might be licensed... waiting for a production to be picked up to film.

Do not read if you want to be spoiled (can't guarantee absolute accuracy as the drama might change details and I am inferring on some things)
It all started off with Luo Huo Ji Du who is an excellent warrior of the ashura clan and is a friend of Baidi (White Emperor aka Hao Chen). Then the demon king from the demon tribe ordered the demons (including the monkey demon) to attack the heavenly realm. The heavenly emperor sent a bunch of people to defend against the demons. Hence the start of the war. During the time of the war, LHJD ended up being betrayed by White emperor who poisoned his friend. He used parts of his friend as weapons and used a part of LHJD's soul to create God of War (she is a female as he used a glass figurine of his aunt for her body base). Whereas the other part of the soul is Mosha. Note the war is still ongoing at this time. White emperor then sent God of War to basically fight against the demons and also Mosha (basically her own self). Eventually she found out and confronted the white emperor after she has defeated the demon side and the war ended . She attacked him and injured the soldiers at his palace which meant she broke the rules. She felt utterly betrayed. She was sent down to mortal realm to overcome 10 tribulations (10 lifetimes) in order to "redeem" herself and return as God of War. What the heavenly folks don't know is that she befriend a golden heavenly bird during her time as God of War and that bird is SF who made a bet to go through with her the ten lifetimes to prove to her that true love exists and there is someone there for her. From there 1000 years have passed and I am assuming through the 1000 years is our female lead going through her nine lifetimes.

From my understanding, productive procrastination seem to upload one episode per day for eng subs. However, I'm not too sure on the schedule. and like what everyone else said, it's the later half of ep 27 to a good portion of ep 28.
Seems like the five sects will go fight against Li Ze Palace around ep 44. That angst >.<
