Quite understandable considering the situation she was in. They toned down the drama a lot from the novel due to censor issues but boy she's a strong one.

Everyone in this drama is flawed but that's being human. ML was understanding. He started to soften up when he saw her making an effort trying to break out of an impossible situation, realizing that he has not quite moved on and trying to push her away wasn't gonna work. He was understanding enough to not reveal to her about the whole ordeal knowing how that would totally break her.

It is baffling that China are producing better shows recently even with 500 different censor laws that they have to navigate through lol. I hope K-content producers get a reality check.
With the entry of Netflix, Disney plus, amazon prime.. garbage ratio has increased a lot.

Netflix has an algorithm of producing content. It's an open secret. Basically they use big names, throw a lot of money and use extravagant set pieces yet the content is hollow, and still make good money. Most of us who watch something on netflix, we pay half attention towards it. But it keeps on playing in the background while we are texting someone. Stuff getting streamed, makes them money. Netflix knows this, and doesn't bother on deep writing.
They do have some good stuff but most are just empty inside. Netflix K-content has more popular IG and YT reels compared to the actual show premise.
I have a doubt? Do mdl users are mostly cdrama fans?
Not a whole lot of good kdramas taking place, mostly mediocre, while cdramas had some bangers come out one after another. So that side is more buzzing.
I have to ask, how is the pace? is it slow burn like Amidst a Snowstorm or more like...dunno, the best thing,…
It is slow burn but not as slow as Amidst a snowstorm of love. It helps that both leads here are cheerful people while the ML in the billiard show, is a quiet dude. It is somewhere in between Snowstorm and The Best Thing, imo.

Fair enough. If you don't like tragedies then that show is a no go. It's a shame that they had to split the novel into two series because of the censor laws. Proper story adaptation would be, one and only/forever and ever taking place side by side.
If you do rewatch Forever and Ever sometime, make sure to watch the detailed recap for one and only and read the background song subtitles. Only drama where songs include story bits and context.

It does NOT have a happy ending but that is why it makes Forever and Ever much more special. Both dramas are connected. These two shows also elevated Bai Lu as a titan of an actress.

You can blame Netflix for that.
