How many times have we seen male and female leads develop emotional bonds through cutesy and charming interactions. It is good and rather fresh to see they develop the bond through taking care of an unexpected tiny human for a change.

Depends on the story. So no, not every story requires an antagonist. Specially not this one. Will be super weird.

That does not go anywhere no, as far as I can recall. The drama is impeccable from the start until episode 38ish. Then the rest went over my head. Building up so much mystery to much ado about nothing. But the ending for the leads was nice.

That would have probably required more episodes. Reading about insane people like Kongming or Liu Ji (real), Changsu, Xie Wei (fictional) etc, doesn't make me jaded seeing brilliant people like Zang Hai. Besides, personally, the ending was quite rushed. But the resolve was good.

So adding more episodes to showcase the knowledge acquisition plus play out the ending better, to already 40 eps. Yikes.

Don't think it is based on any specific dynasty but the ambiance, fashion etc resemble perhaps the Ming era.

I don't think this particular show requires a villain, as it's about raising a kid by clueless unlikely parents. As for love triangle, as long as they don't drag it until ep 10, should be alright..ish.

Based on the usual complaints, love triangles are annoying most of the time ..if not done well, but in this specific show, I don't mind it.. so far. Because the premise is pretty much like, you thought your life was heading one way and a shocking incident alters your trajectory in a direction that you could have never imagined. Romance is a part of life as well and a bolt of lightning hitting your ass (my metaphor to not give away shit) can alter the course. And besides, I am familiar with the core concept. Ahem..life as we know it..ahem.

Now if they decide to drag this until episode 10 or something, that's a whole different issue. Remains to be seen.

It is a very common trope but this drama did it well without making it look far fetched.

It's ok, you don't have to like everything. It is a slow burn romance show, so if that is not your thing, totally cool. I won't tell you that it would get better from ep 20 as it is already good from the start. First kiss on ep 26 anyway.

You will get the answer later on as to why. Hard to put in a few words but think of it as ML's place of solitude/his inner mind where he can be himself. The VR scenario is there only when the ML needs to be there. So whenever he is content in real life, he doesn't need it.

Like or dislike is subjective, chemistry usually is not. Watching a few episodes won't give you the chemistry answer as their relationship has like 4 phases (meeting, courting, dating and solidifying) spread over 25 episodes in a linear way.
