I'm halfway through it but since day 1 of this its obvious the communist party are going to win and they're the…
sure enough, i never disputed, that they were gonna win.
its just, the way of presenation, who is majorily are the good guys, and who are the bad guys, its just the way, its presentend in communistic dictatorship countries. its expected, and yet, i have never learned yet, to get along with it.
in USA at least, you have movies, where their policies, their history and their wars? are ripped apart, and their directors are allowed to say, well USA Goverment did and does shitty things , and are the scums auf humanity. (of course, they have equalliy movies, that are on the same level of patriotic enthusiams like the chinese).
while USA hat Top Gun Maverick, China hat with QYB "born to fly".
its competition, that makes things exciting, right?
china has to go a long way, before they can achieve that level of soft power and manipulation, that america ist capable of.
That’s quite a take. lol. I say that as a BL fan. Ah, capitalism, the failed economic theory cultivating and…
true enough. But just the way, my upbringing was, (all of my family HATES communists, no matter where my family lives (france, germany, USA, Australia or whereever), so honestly, anything i write about that era, or anything i watch from PRC china about that era. is completely screwed up, and not relieable , and is deeply DEEPLY with prejudices against communists.
the show itsself , and the presentation was great, no denial here. i actually did expect only a little bit of het romance, who would have thought, though, that the chemistry between Tunan and Ruloai was so great! i was completely overwhelmed.
we all watch dramas with our own set of , who we are and where we are coming from. age-wise, i am at least , twice as old as the average member of MDL i guess. with me being 45 years old, thats a given.
but also, my overall socialisation, and to how i grew up without the internet, and in the 80/90 decades, being a half chinese/half vietnamese, growing up in Germany, my sources of entertainment were either american tv dramas, or hongkong dramas. hardly anyone, who can relate here in this forum, with me.
none of my german friends, ever know anything about the golden age of Hongkong TV series, and me despite growing up with Germans, and have only german friends, funnily, i know nothing of German dramas and movies.
WYB has chemistry with anyone tho not only with that man. Youre sounding borderline fujoshi.
lol, i dont even know what fujoshi means!
but if its a modern word for "slash fan" (that was the term, when i started to read m/m fanfics in ähh the year 2000, when i was 21 yrs old) then right, I am not just a borderline fujoshi fan, but a hardcore "fujoshi" fan.
me saying, that i love WYB with Tunan, does not negate his hotness and chemistry with other actors though. or does it? if my wording cames across that way, then of course, polite person that i am, i apologize for hurting your feelings.
why are subtitles so bad? I am loving the show but have to pause for now and wait for better subtitles to come
but how are you going to know, when and where better subs will be coming?? aside from here, is there any board, where one can be notified, if there are better subs available?
the ending was more or less as i expected. i am not happy with the communist party propaganda, that they are always the good party (despite maybe have some bad members, and vice versa the KMT is the bad party, despite maybe having some good members.) but alas , its a PRC production, in a country with no real freedom to look close into their history the last 80 years, so whatever ..
i was along for the ride, because the chemistry between Ruo Lai and Tu Nan was AMAZING from eps 1, dear hell, if every Republican communist propaganda movie and dramas has this level of eyefucking and heat between two MLs , that is way more hotter than nearly any BL drama that was banned the last 4 years?? i would forget and turn my back on all my Chinese ancestors who were killed or tortured by communists the last 100 years and turn from fully-faith capitalist to communist anytime! hahaah,
JESUS, I didn't think, I would ship WYB with anyone else after untamed, but here?? there should be a million Roulai and Tunan fanfics out there, making out!
i am confused about this part in the summary ", akin to the legendary Mulan, " are the comparing the FL and her success in the business world, to the success in war, from Mulan?
does anyone know the reason behind china's airing schedule when it comes to dramas? why do they insist on giving…
well there are tons of production studious and streaming companies , so they all compete with each for the attention of the watchers/audience. I guess, in China, its all about the numbers of watchers, the more you have, the better you get paid for promotional ads, so you need to get the watchers hooked on your specific drama. Just like make them addicted like drugs and on. and for international fans, well part of us (those that do have money and are willing to spend) are paying for the apps like youku, iqiy , wetv and so on. our for free with ads, on youtube. and some of us, well watch it on illegal streaming sites, but if you like a show/drama , maybe they hope, you will be wanting to pay in the future, to support your fav actors.
Definitely heartbreaking for episodes 25 and 26. Yeah, Shen Tunan is likely going to die for his faith in KMT,…
yeah, well corruption is in the human nature, not something specific political party or political system thing. i was born and grew up and live in Germany (and i really love my life here, and I am happy that my family managed to get out of vietnam after the war), but sometimes, the western hypocrisy grants on my nerves. They think, they are more or less much better on the war on corruption, while on a worldwide corruption index, "chinese" societies like Singapore and (former) Hongkong are placed higher on top, in the rankings, in terms of corruption free goverment officials.
alas, its a PRC drama, so actually i didnt expect anything better from them, but with my family's history , and the kind of "indoctrination" i went through (my family elders hates communist governments to death) , its always hard for me, to go through this kind of dramas. (my grandfather were send out of china like a 100 years ago, they went to vietnam, only to meet communist again in their lifetime. so they had to flee with their family a 2nd time).
i dont think, PRC's party in my lifetime will allow a brutal honest view on their society in dramas like lets see the TV dramas i watched in my childhood from hongkong or taiwan, or the last few years from Southkorea or Japan.
still 12 eps, and my heart is already breaking. i doubt this will have a happy ending. a good ending, probably.
but... damn I don't want a Ruolai and Tunan fallout. its probably inevitable that Tunan will be killed ( I dont see him converting from his beliefs to a communist one).
It's now very obvious to me that Yibo is on a mission. It seems like when it comes to choosing films to act, he…
thanks for giving a possible explanation why this thread only has like 370 comments.
i was totally confused, coz i love this drama! not just because WYB is in it (of course, it helps, that he is eyecandy, but come on, there are lots of pretty other actors out there) , but i am really surprised, i didnt know the other second leads/actors , those were from Joy of Life and love like a galaxy , were in it! i have not memorize their names, but one is the senior banker guy, and the other the police officer!
and it helps, that I find the story exciting, despite yeah sure, its Chinese propaganda, but so are most if not all Chinese dramas and movies from that time and era. (maybe in another 100 years, when China's worth has improved and they are arrogant like USA, that LOL, they will allow movies like "apocalypse now" or war films that criticize and destroy their own history and pathos and myths. )
I guess, I thought, here would be tons of comments, coz either yibo has lots of fans, or as some haters claim, he has tons of water armies fans?
but wow, that other drama that I love currently, in blossom, he several thousand comments, so here the thread seems insignificant in comparison. but alas, watching a show without all the dramatic fans and stans and so on , dramatics, is also kinda stressfree.
i have read somewhere, don't ask me where, that both yibo and dilraba are being build up by Communist party to be their poster boy and girl for well, patriotic and propaganda reasons. neither of them can leave the c-ent industry anymore, without facing massive backlash or being cancelled. whether they did it freely and voluntarily or were more or less pressured and coerced doesn't matter. i am on their side, you do what you have for a wealthy and famed (infamous) living. at this point, either of them leaving is not an option anymore , probably. lying with the devil and so on.
i mean, c-ent and its fans, have memories like a sieve. if you ain't present, you will be forgotten next year. who of the young fans national and international, could name, who they did like , like 5 or 10 years ago, who were the idols of that time? i bet , 99% could not name anyone.
so , whatever, I am usually always on the side of the actors, it doesn't matter if they sell their souls, its china and its communistic. I wouldn't want yibo end up like zhang zehan, the guy who went to japan, how many years ago, and then it turned against him.
Everyone, the C-ent circle has enough hate and fan wars as it is, let's not start more. Stop spreading hate for…
i dont know, reading about fan wars here in C-ent, is kind of comforting for me , lololol.
at least, i know, girls will be girls, or rather humans are still humans, no matter ethnicity, no matter which continent, and no matter what entertainment industry.
when i was young, and the internet was young, and there was no notable C-Ent yet? it was the same in online boards , only it was american shows. and US stars and starlets and well, we didnt call the actresses or actors idols. fan wars were all around as well.
26 years since i went online. its kinda fun to see, how humans did not evolve!
thats prooves, we are still humans and no A.I.s. hahaah!
loving this!!!!!!!!!! i mean, i was prepared to sit through it coz I like both the ML and FL lead , but darn, is the story interesting!! I didn't read the summary before, so I was a tad confused who was evol and who was not ( I thought, huhh, isn't she the FL? how can she be that evil?, ahhahah and how come the heroine is so quickly dead??)
its midnight, shit, only managed until ep3! and the next 5 days, I have got like 14 hours shift :( on the positive side! once I can pick up upcoming sunday`?`I will have a hell lot of eps to catch up :D:D:D
very true. I thought, after blood of youth, that 2023 would be his year, but alas it was not meant to be. There were a whole lot other male stars, that were pushed more, for instance his co.star in Blood of youth, the one with the streaks of red hair? cannt remember his name, but whoah, he must have a hell better agency. I mean, i liked him enough, i just didnt think, he would be star material...
either way, will never give up hope. off to rewatch the trailer ;D
Yang Xuwen kind of reminds me of a young Miu Kiu-wai - esp when he played the cheeky side of Yeung Hong and Chor…
gosh, dont mentioned Yeung Hong , i am not sure, how i survive the waiting time, until they air the new condor heroes dramas.... ITS ALL LIES, when i was small yound and stupid, they said, if you have money, you can BUY ANYTHING. now i am all grown up, work like 12 hours a day, make tons of money, and I still cannot buy all the dramas in the world that i want *lol*
