i just came here, to say, wow, this is like one of the few short dramas, that I watched until the end. the ML and FL looks familiar, though I cannot say, from where I know them, and its actually not important.
important is , that this was REALLY funnily cute and sweet! more kisses than in an s-drama production! actors that have chemistry with each other, despite the story being nothing really overwhelming or novel! despite the storyline being more or less generic, wow, the leads pulled it off!
if anyone knows, if this is available as one big file (I have dl all 22 eps, but jesus, 30 min per ep, and 15 min is just trailermusic at the beginning and the end, pheww) , please point me the direction ! Tyvm!
I'm tired to watch this. Currently on ep 21 but I think it's too much action scene. I watch it bcs it's a detective…
i came here, to write the same, though i could not pinpoint, why i like the first 12 or 13 episodes more, than the later ones. i did not fast forward with the first cases, but the later ones, strangely, i did not feel the same. but no matter, for a mostly non-romance focussed drama, with a cast, that i am mostly not much familiar with, this was an enjoyable start into 2024!
i dont know if this drama is an S-drama or not, but all the F/X and the costumes and the landscapes mostly really felt beautiful and immersive.
i am glad i did not skip this drama, despite initially being quite unsure !
but it feels unfinished, with what the story behind judge Dee's father death? so there should be more eps/another season coming in the future?
(And also: that's the most popular ship for this fandom on AO3. And AO3 doesn't lie.

i wouldnt say "most fics" but rather , like 50-60% is still english in Untamed, and the rest is a mix of chinese , russian, french, spanish , even german, and some others.
oh, they blocked ao3 there? i thought, youtube and facebook and such were blocked, but not fanfic archives, okay probably silly of me.
i wonder though, if the chinese teenagers have archives or forums similar to ao3`? to write fanfics? i am of chinese vietnamese origin, though i was born and grew up in germany. I have some family members telling me, that they are reading fanfics (mostly heterosexual romantic fanfics and fics though) in written in vietnamese, in vietnamese forums and boards. (well vietnamese goverment is probably much poorer than chinese government , therefore they dont have the means to block all the stuff, that chinese are blocking.
back in my youth here in germany, i started with printed star wars and star trek fanzines, which often had at least short gen PG-rated fanfics. later all those official translated novels from X-files , and many US shows of the 90s- one of the first things i was looking for, when i finally went online in 1999? hahaha looking for fanfics! and the rest is more or less history :D and later , all those million fanmade music vids from the shows...
honestly, fan shipping wars three decades ago , were no less stupid and vivid, and fierce, comparing to what is going on nowadays on Chinese weibo. its just, both American as well as European /white fans more or less grew up. my generation at least. no matter how silly and stupid Chinese fans might look nowadays from my POV? i always think , well they will one day grow up as well. no stars and idol shipping , no obsession will last.
wow, all the reviews (both from US, as well as from a few german TV magazines) so far are pretty much positive! i am very, very excited, to see this in 2 weeks!
has anyone posted this trailer?? is this here the right place? no eng subs, but GOSH, it LOOKS AMAZONG; I AM DYING! COMEON; PUBLISH IT; YOU WANT MY MONEY! I WILL GIVE YOU ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION!
wow, i am really surprised by this drama! or rather I am surprised by myself how much I liked it, without it having any fairy immortal lookalike, photoshopped to death (lol) idol actors or actresses! yep, I am usually very shallow, I have no depth, and I want to see inhumanly pretty people in gorgeous costumes on screen when watching Chinese fantasy dramas, but I was browsing yesterday on youtube, and this was suggested, so I tuned in in the first ep, and spend the rest of Chinese new year devouring the first 5 eps available on yt!
my first thought was, wow, I know that guy! the Judge Dee, he looks familiar! yep, the male lead from The rebel (which I didn't finished). wow, he is 3 years younger than me! lol, this might be the first time with a mainland Chinese actor, where I am watching a drama coz of the story!
( I mean, I have plenty crushes for actors older than me, but that is mostly from my childhood, when I was watching Hongkong TVB dramas in the 80s. Household names such as Andy Lau Tak Wah, or Tony Leung Chiu Wai, are a given. They are both now very elderly, grown-up distinguished stars, known beyond Hongkong borders due to films such as Infernal Affairs or Tony in the Marvel movie 2 years ago)
anyway, I like how the cases are very mysterious, and everything is not easy to guess! i hope, the eps and the cases can keep up for the rest of the episodes!
well, he is not young and pretty and an Idol like you know the usual taste of i guess the "normal" fanbase audience. (thinking of dylan wang, yangyang, wang yibo, Zhao Zhan, Xu Kai and the even younger idols from last year, the male cast of "Lost you forever")
i guess he must be around 40 or older? pretty sure, having wife and kids , makes you (in any country) less attractive for the casting, coz younger audience usually want single stars, between 15 - 25 years, which they can ship.
I am 45 yrs old woman, and i usually want to watch young and pretty guys and girls on screen, who could be my children. this actor is the exceptions, it seems, lol.
they do still picking up BL novels? i mean, those production companies, would they not need funds and money and…
ah well, maybe its a gamble. I mean, if they take less known stars, or newcomers , and make the entire production cheap.. who knows. maybe some day , some official will revert the decision, and c-gov will think, screw it, SK is making tons of money with weird stories, and is more present on netflix, we need to compete with them, alas, lets allow BL again... LOL, you know, we could always dream.
its not like c-gov is sane or sound. They make crazy and illogical decisions all the time (admittingly, hey, democratic gov are not that much better! its only that our gov, are more limited in their power, to do crazy stuff. otherwise, all politicans brains are---mostly disfunctional.
I'm honestly kinda surprised that production companies are still picking up BL novels for adaptations even though…
they do still picking up BL novels? i mean, those production companies, would they not need funds and money and so on? if those investors knows, the c-gov might never allow those dramas to air, who would give those production companies money or fund them?
https://ohitv.net/xem-phim/tro-choi-tri-menh-phan-1-tap-1/Someone shared it below in the comments. This has Vietnamese…
dang, this is one of the few times, where i regret, despite being of vietnamese origin, that i can only speak vietnamese, but never learned to write it!
I can watch the show on viewasian.com.. actors speak Shanghai dialect and subtitle in Mandarin ( so far)..
i cannot speak for @pytheos , but quite frankly, i am 45 years old, the native mothertongue of my grandfathers is cantonese. i grew up in Germany, and watching hongkong dramas in cantonse for 20 years (1983 - 2003) , after that i stopped, coz i started my professional career after my university, so not enough spare time. (just as a grew up in Germany, watching American tv shows, which were all dubbed in German, on german tv)
so, yeah, i watched taiwanese dramas which were dubbed in cantonese, and i have watched chinese dramas, that were dubbed in cantonese. i am not expected anything, i am merely hoping, there would be some dubbed cantonese version of blossoms shanghai, if they decide to do it for the hongkong market. and audience. if not, i will be happy to watch it in mandarin, or shanghainese or whatever, with subtitles.
"Do not reply to me, etc. I will not reply to anyone, etc. "
well since this is still a free forum, thank god, we dont have to adhere to your demand, to "not reply to you, since you will not reply to anyone etc."
well tough luck , tough shit, i dont care what you want, i will reply with whatever I want.
and think, this part of your unnessary essay is the most arrogant shit ever: "China should stop the dysfunctionalities of separating actors into idols for their looks and other people for their so-called acting abilities because it's dehumanizing and their charm, grace, soul, etc. are all part of the person just like when a person is dancing, "
Who died again, and made you GOD, that you demand from "china" to stop doing something? huhh? Àhh??hÀhh? i mean, of course, i respect your opinion. just not your demand to a country such a CHINA, to do or what not do. its so hilarious. its not just china's movie and drama industry working like that, the rest of the movie and drama business in the rest of the world works like that.
tell me, are you going to Àhh France, UK, Russia, India, Japan, Korea , American , brazil forums , who are comparable and have their own Mydramalist forums, and write in those places: "USA, Germany, France, "should stop the dysfunctionalities of separating actors into idols for their looks ..." as well???

since when is it allowed in PRC china to depict a "sadomasochistic relationship" on national (or even online) television?
is this a show from taiwan??
what got mixed up here?!??!
i grew up in Germany, and watching hongkong dramas in cantonse for 20 years (1983 - 2003) , after that i stopped, coz i started my professional career after my university, so not enough spare time.
