watching avidly all the new trailers for the upcoming Q4, but thus, nothing that makes my head spin.

but then, trailers and teasers can be deceiving, so we will see, when or if there is going to be a drama coming along, that will have a fanbase such as CLJ.

despite raving for this drama, i still cannot get into Miss the dragon, simply coz the make up artist and stylist make Dylan wang so ... well, he just doesnt look good with his hair and costumes and styling and make up and so on in Miss the dragon.

i could not get into that drama last year, and still cannot this year, even after this success.

it depends on how you define stupid.

she is at the beginning and through most eps, actually a teenager .

so yeah, if naive, immature , innocent, silly, and so on, like teenager age appropiate behaviour is something you consider stupid, I(which she partially grows out) , then yes, she might be partially called stupid.

i guess the point is, our human brain wants and yearns the fictional story and the fictional characters mostly to be better than we human beings are in reality. hence the need and want for mary sues and gary sues?

actually, i have always felt like, the more stupid the fictional characters are (in terms in intelligence , or mature behaviour or like really anything ) , it actually looks always more realistic. as such, if FL are acting overtly sweet, or innocent or stupid, i am mostly , aww thats how i see my younger female cousins. and if the ML heroes and villains also have like the most stupid reasonings and failed plans, i am mostly LOL, yep, right, just like real life, those grandeur of heroism (USA and playing world police in afghan or elsewhere) or villainism (putin suddenly invading other countries) are just, so realistic. sure thing, everything will fall apart, and will fail.

hence also the impossible standards that those poor chinese actors and idols have to live up and adhear to towards the - right now, still in the infant shoes, - the PRC chinese audience and to impossible standards (putting into the mix the toxic censorship of the chinese state) , no prostitutes, no girlfriends, or boyfriends, no gays (in China) no overtly feminine male people, no overtly boyish , or androgyn female people and so on.

i am addicted to c dramas like the average mary sue, but honestly, as someone with wester socialisation, i just feel sorry for actors, actresses, idols and script writers and directors and whatever there is, in that chinese drama and movie industry.
however, i doubt things are much better in so called democratic asian countries such as Korea or japan. they might allow a little bit more freedom in terms of story telling (gay people, threesomes, polyamory, and so on) but still , rigid frigid asian morals (as in contrast to the anything goes US storytelling which is also... not really some sort of stuff that is inspiring. only drugs and sex, and incest and being strict on being diverse and woke and having enough people of color in each show? urggghhh, i am glad i left US dramas behind. better deal with stupid chinese hypocrisy than american ones.)

i need to make a list of all the dramas, i need to air, to maybe move a little bit on from CLJ.

till now, no trailer of anything from 2022 or 2023 has really been mainblowing, but then the trailer from CLJ wasnt that great and overwhelming either.
if i just hadnt download the first ep, to give it a try i might have missed it as well.

i remember the female lead! my mother and my aunts were crazy about her in the 90! she had so many of these similar roles (I think, most of her dramas were back then filmed and made in taiwann? ) where there was like neverending sad and cruel stuff happened to her , and the mother in laws were almost always sort of evil !

and my mother and my aunts were like, crying without end.

but hey, I liked the music of that era!

lol, not sure how the numbers are where you are from, but in germany, average divorce rate is 50%.
talking of relationships and marriage and so on, drawing from these figrues, every couple has like only a 50% chance of a happy ending.
so no mystery in real life, how chances are, to end up unhappy.

in the current world full of crisis (ukraine war just in my immidiate european neighborhood, and covid still looming around, life is not boring, life is actually just a string of crisis.

if life would be boring, that would be like a blessing right now.

i know you have no quarrel with the show. or the character.

and i just want to explain, why the way it is written, with her character, is simply not unexplainable. you said you dont understand.

it doesnt have to be brainwashing. doesnt have to be complicated. human beings and human brain is simple and simple minded.

coz real life, human beings, men and women alike, no matter what age, are mostly stupid, AND immature, and will disappoint.

coz real life is cruel, and dramas, if well written, is always better than reality. (no to mentioned, everybody is of course , better looking like true immortals, instead of us ugly or average humans XD)

whenever there those stupid moments, i am trying to remind myself, in the context of this story, the character of XLH is just a few thousand years old, so practically a teenager compared to all the other characters, that are ten thousands of years old.

i mean, i am not sure, how stupid you were between 11 - 18 years old, and with me thats more than 25-30 years ago.
but i vagely remember my teenage years, i am was kind delusional about a few things.

same probably applies to her. just coz some things just seems to be obviously stupid, doesnt mean, the teenage (or normal adult) brain of strange homo sapiens / human brain, will accept that.

her being stupid , illogical , childish, immature, homesick , bratty , actually makes her looks more realistic to me, than if she suddenly in the beginning of the story could think everything completely like a genius adult logically through.

it would be unforgiveable, if later, once she regáined her other persona , the one that is a goddess, has the same reaction. that godess persona is like ten thousands of years old. and would have known better.
but not a mere fairy with no memories and who thinks, she is nobody and nothing special and has no life experiences.
