i mean, they will never go there, but still, I wouldn't mind if this show would end up with FL and SML (which I am 2000% sure, will not end up, but hey, a girl can dream, hahah)

if I were the FL, I would just marry one guy, and have the other guy as my lover. or even better, go for a threesome, honestly ML and SML are gorgeous, there should be AU Fanfiction with them eloping, hahahah omg my brain is surely rotten by all the waiting for tomorrow.

i knew him from miss the dragon. but i couldnt get into that show, coz, well no matter how often i try, but with some actresses, its hopeless. i just cannot stomach them, and their acting.
same for some actors, such as xu kai ? he is that guy that was so popular with the military academy drama? his looks do nothing for me, and well, its a shallow world, dramas first and foremost live from their visuals to appeal to watchers, and for me, no matter how brilliant the story, if the actors just are not my taste, its aint going to work.

i really wish, they would give him some better motivation behind his villainness..

honestly, i love complex villains, more than that, i adore them already back 20 years, when there was an US show called smallville, that started with lex luthor (the evol villain) and the hero clark kent (Aka Superman).
they made Lex a complex human being with reasons why he turned to be villain anyone can relate to, and hate.

just... make villains, but made them better. with better characterizations.
not just some strange cardboard villain, just so that we have more pity with the heroes.

villains are necessary for a good story, but to write a really good script, the villain should be as interesting as the hero.
otherwise. its all boring, normal greed, or being evol out of nothing and no reasons? is boring. just always being envious of the hero or heroine is also boring.
i want villains that are convinced that they are doing the right thing, for the right motivations. just as heroes.

this is what made stories compelling.

yes, i already have subscriptions via the WeTV and IQIYI apps on my smartphone.

but both networks are not widely known in germany, and netflix is much more spread here (along with amazon prime, apple+ and other US apps) this is the reason, i hoped this drama would be on netflix, just so that more germans might be exposed to Chinese dramas, and that the chinese producers gains more audience.

seriously, after years of depressing / serious / dark german or scandinavian shows, and US dramas full of ... well at some point, as racistic this might sound, at some point, i am bored by the US shows, coz its just all about sex, sex more sex, and then incest, and whether or not the cast in US is enough diverse, and if there is at least a black person, an latin american person, an asian person and a white person on the cast.
racial issues are important, but for television, i am just.. as German person of chinese origin, i am tired of the US race problems.

at least, watching either Chinese, Korean, or Japanese or whatever south east asian dramas, race (as in white, black, latin or asian) is not an issue.

its mostly mono ethnic in their fantasy world, and i am here for escapism.

china and chinese people are racistic, but at least, they are honest about their racism. and dont make it an issue in their dramas, unlike Americans.

thanks! an no, access to all sorts of illegal sites, that upload the chinese dramas for free is not a problem from Germany (mostly because we are hardly a market that is of any relevance for chinese dramas, so the IP owners rarely protect their stuff here in front of court or via other means).

its just, with shows that i REALLY REALLY like, i want to be able to support them by any legal means, meaning paying for subscrptions and such, and let the network and IP knows ,why i am buying them. (so that the relevant workers on a show, get their legal and monetary recognition).

sure there are, but i think, not all countries have access? like myself, i usually download all my stuff from https://mkvdrama.org/ or https://www4.dramacool.movie/, but there surely are more (illegal) around, just not sure, with 1080 p, if the poorer sites have , as you said, more than 720p.
when i really want to support a drama, i usually download the offical apps like wetv and iQiyi, and then make my subscription and payment, and then delete the apps. coz I mostly watch my shows old fashioned wise on the big monitor at my computer .

i live in germany (ethnicwise i am chinese and vietnamese, but i only understand cantonese, coz thats why my grandfather with me, when they were alive. vietnamese is fine with me too, but i detest watching their dubs of chinese shows, its HORRID, i would rather live the rest of my live watching the shows with subs, then having vietnamese dubs...horrid i am telling you...) so, in my country, since this is hardly a market of interest (in regards of dramas) so there are hardly any sites, where i have to put off with restrictions, neither legal nor illegal sites. (the legal owner of the IP usually don't protect their stuff here, coz without a big market share, its just not worth the hassle to put on restrictions. gemany is not like US or UK, where there is substantial Asian population, where you could pressure them to make official paid subscriptions.

its all a question of economics.

while i am totally happy to distract my time with very old TVB dramas from the golden age of HongKong dramas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cwAzsw7CtM&list=TLPQMjgwODIwMjLp1GE9KlJivQ&index=4 this one for example, its still as gorgeous as I remember, when I was in my early 20s and watching it. its nothing like LbFaD, and that's why its a great distraction) , I would like to ask the rest of you here, if there are actually any anime xianxias that are worth watching , and that might have a similar story lines like LbFaD?

i have never watched a Chinese xianxia anime before, neither normal romantic ones, or BL ones.
i know nearly everyone is raving for the untamed version , and this other show with the really long title - wait a moment -The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System!

you are right, and just because so, maybe you put your comment under spoilers? i dont mind, coz i seen those eps, but others, might not want to be spoiled by your commentary.

yes yes yes, and i say that as a middle aged woman, who has watched tropes for like 20 years (i grew up in the 80/90 with Hongkong TV wuxia dramas) and then paused for more than a decade (busy with studies, work and getting rich, and also in between , waiting mainland chinese dramas to get better than in their early years)

if tropes are made to perfection , like in this case, i totally worship them.

its just when kinks and tropes are soooo poorly executed, that they are at best annoying, and at worst, totally offputting (like just about 80% of the rest of current dramas).

that is truly the best way to proceed with most shows. i think, as great and sometimes useful recs are, we are all unique persons , and sometimes, we like what all others like, and sometimes , it just doesnt work for us, what works for (nearly) everyone else.

i am for example, i dont separate dramas into genres, i just, when i like them, then i like them, no matter if there are no magic or godly powers , like nirvana in fire, or if its like overpowered magical beings here in LbFaD , for me its all what that story makes me feel, and not what everybody might feel or not.

so go and check out for yourself and then decide :)

actually, both joy of life and snow sword stride are based on completed novels, so i was glad, even though both ended with cliffhangers, at least ,fans get to know, how the stories were concluded.

i am not giving up hope, but i am not holding my breath either.
if season 2 and 3 from both dramas are coming, whether now or in 5 years, that would be great.

if not, well, i am still dreaming about fated general (from 2016??) with Zhang Ruo Yun, a fan can always dream and have delusions.

both dramas are supposed to have the same script writer, i think, the humour in both dramas are similar, even if the stories are very different.

but both are ending with more or less cruel endings, with cliffhanger, and you never know, how it will be resolved, unless you are up to read the novels (both dramas are based on very long novels, and they are finished, so thats a consolation)

i hope, my mentioning of SSS is not misleading, actually, its completely different from LbFaD , like really really different, no gods and immortals and devils. its more about politics, cultivation and revenge and jianghu mysteries... and romance is also very low key....
