Wow. This series just keeps getting better with each week. Bravo!
And that girl keeps getting more evil each week. Anyone else suspect she's not deaf at all and feigns being so as a means of getting close to Kohei? I hate her.
One metric I use to evaluate the quality of an ongoing BL on a 10-point scale is: "How embarrassed would I be if I were forced to watch this show in the company of one of my close RL friends who doesn't know of my secret BL fetish?"
Takara no Vidro is a 9.5/10 on that scale.
The Thai...thing "Secret Crush On You" is a 10/10.
I don't think any of you are thinking about what you're saying. I understand that this show isn't everyone's cup…
Wrong. Actors who allow themselves to be put in front of a camera and the audience by a director, have to be ready, as part of their job, to accept whatever comes their way as reaction, positive AND negative. If they aren't able to do that, they need to change professions.
The audience does not exist to take care of the actors as real people, it exists to react to the story and the characters. A character's looks are an undeniable, natural element to which the audience will respond and have opinions about. To demand those who don't care for Taishin's face zip it is silly and childish.
I don't agree that he is "ugly" (did anyone actually say that?) but he is definitely off-beat looking; his hooked nose with those huge eyes and tiny mouth is combo people are either going to love or hate. You love it and said so. Others hate it and said so. Get over yourself.
Okay, that's it for me. Not reading the comments here anymore. Way too many negative comments that are actively…
I've never understood this attitude. Why don't you just scroll past the many negative comments and read the ones you agree with? It's not hard. And someone else's opinion of something you enjoy should mean less than nothing to you. Maybe you have your own doubts about the quality of this show, and they're touching a nerve?
Is it possible that the plot, such as it is, was written DELIBERATELY to be boring? That would explain everything except why that choice was made.
The core problem here, as in all episodes to this point, is that there is no way in believable hell a handsome, cool dude like Takara would be romantically attracted to someone like Taishin. I have known people like Taishin: That unrelenting, constant insecurity, self-doubt, low self-esteem, need for reassurance, and general cluelessness is exhausting. Such people are vampires who suck the life and fun out of any situation one shares with them. They may be cute, they are likely not doing it on purpose, but nevertheless they take MUCH more than they give and it's impossible to relax around them. Every interaction is walking on eggshells.
This show is a fantasy written for an audience of insecure nerds, in which they get to pretend that a cool hottie like Takara could be drawn to them. In that respect, it reminds me of the horrid Thai abortion "Secret Crush On You," in which hot, straight collegiate athletes fell, one after the other, for insecure gay nerds to whom not even other insecure gay nerds would be attracted.
In the real world, if Takara paid any attention to Taishin it would be to make note of his crush, use it as access to his moist openings a few times, and then dump him. That's how it works.
My continued hate watch of this show continues for the beauty of Takara, and because a part of me still can't quite believe HOW boring it is. I keep coming back to check. lol
