Wow. My estimation of this series has risen dramatically from episode 1 to episode 3.
I am impressed to see a BL that is directly portraying a gay "friends-with-benefits" relationship and the complicated dynamics that can arise in such a situation.

Furthermore, the exploration of sexual/personal dynamics and potentially sexual harassment in the workplace is interesting and well-played so far, though there is MUCH left to learn.

I have never been able to separate my body from my heart/head in sexual situations so I learned long ago that FWB relationships don't work for me. But MANY other gay men claim to be fine with it, and who am I to say they're being dishonest?

I like that we see Kazuma obviously wanting much more from the relationship but playing it cool in hopes that Ren will come around, while Ren seems to be fine with a FWB arrangement, but by the end of episode 3 something else seems to be happening inside him. The look on Ren's face when he grabbed Kazuma's hand near the end said it all. He doesn't want to just "do it." He wants to "make love," even if he insists that's not true.

It's intriguing that when they are "doing it," Ren insists on hiding his face and not speaking. That's pretty indicative of some serious psychological issues so I look forward to learning what that's all about.

To people here all agog at seeing two 15 year-old actors exchange a tame kiss, get a grip. They are above the age of consent. NOTHING even slightly explicit is shown or even indicated in their hookup scene. This is called "acting" and "directing" and "filming," the adroit combination of which can make it appear as though all kinds of things have happened when in reality the viewer's mind is receiving a few bits of information and filling in the huge gaps between them to come up with an assumption that certain activities have taken place.

This is called "live-action fictional story-telling." Humans have been doing it for centuries.

But it is totally unsurprising to see the usual BL prudes wringing their hands as they collapse onto their fainting couches here at the suggestion that teenagers have sex. I knew that's part of what I'd see in comments after episode 3 and I can't say I don't get a kick out of the predictable, sex-negative acting-out. It's as amusing as it is eye-rolling.

lol It's called "acting." Nothing even the tiniest bit explicit was shown. You saw two 15 year-old TEENAGERS exchange a fairly chaste kiss. Is it news to you that 15 year-olds kiss in real life? Furthermore, both actors are above the age of sexual consent, so what is the problem?

Fifteen year-olds kissing in middle school and high school plays is nothing unusual. And 15 year-olds kissing IRL happens all the time. So again, where is the problem?

If you can't handle the vibe of two cute teens kissing, then you simply should stop watching the show. This isn't complicated.

Of all the millions of BLs I have watched from beginning to end, the storyline of this one is among the worst. Yutaro is ridiculously unappealing as a romantic lead, and his character here was as incoherent as he was a little bitch, right up to the bitter end. The ONLY reason I kept watching is Kondo Shori. Sexy, charismatic and talented. I hope to see him paired with a worthy partner in another romance soon...hopefully a gay-as-f**k one.

The "naked dining" concept, and the promise of at least one butt shot of Shori per episode, was completely forgotten, or it was a red herring from the start, who knows?

There was no kiss, though one was teased for several episodes, but I consider that a blessing for Shori's sake.

I'd list all the things wrong with this mess but there'd be no room for comments from others.

I agree completely. Kondo Shori is the only reason I did not drop this disaster. He's handsome, sexy, charismatic, and a good actor. I look forward to more from him too. Yutaro, on the other hand, has the romantic/sexual energy of an eggplant. If I never see him onscreen again it will be far too soon.

Thanks for finding more plot holes I had forgotten about. lol I agree it COULD have been plausible that they took off together, but to me if they did it because they were being irrational in the moment, that factor was not played, directed or acted well enough to make it believable. The fact that he called 911 and then later suggested going to the cops when they heard the dad was still alive suggests he was NOT being irrational. But they kept running nonetheless.

I don't want to over-state my dislike of the film. There were elements in it I enjoyed, and I kept watching until the end so that shows there was something there I was interested in, even if it was only Nijira's eyelashes. 😁😁😁

Wow, they really got me with that beautiful, lingering kiss on the balcony as the rain fell. The look on Yul's face when he pulled away, kept his hand around Yechan's neck and just stared at him, directly into his eyes, was extremely real and powerfully moving. I saw the realization spread across his face and in his eyes that he truly DID love Yechan and he was a bit overwhelmed by that. The kiss itself was stellar: Started as a lame mannequin kiss and I started to roll my eyes but then those mouths began to move and interact and I was riveted by their connection in that moment, totally glued to the screen.

My god, I'm a cynical old fart but as I watched I got goosebumps all over and tears came to my eyes. What a lovely scene. Do Won is a talented actor, as he has been throughout. Never false or over-acting or stiff; very natural. Also, he is beyond beautiful to look at. The combination of his delicate facial features, his height and broad shoulders puts him in a spectacular sweet spot between feminine and masculine that I find breath-taking at times. He's not really my type but that doesn't prevent me from appreciating his beauty. His smile is dazzling, but sweet and genuine too. This actor has it all and it will be interesting to watch his career going forward.

Yoon Do Jin is harder to evaluate because to me he played the part too broadly. I perceived Yechan as a stereotype of a goofy hick/farmer, slightly dense but big-hearted. I kept thinking of Jethro from the old American TV sit-com "The Beverly Hill-Billies." I wouldn't be surprised if Do Jin watched old episodes of that show to inform his character as Yechan. Honestly, the similarities are striking, now that I really think about it. Jethro was beautifully built like Yechan, goofy and slightly dim-witted but overall extremely likeable and sweet. My problem with Yechan is I feel Do Jin took those qualities too far and I repeatedly thought "wow, how admirably progressive of this production company to present the first BL featuring half of the main couple as intellectually disabled." Which WOULD be a rich concept but I don't think that's what they were really going for. lol All of this lies at the feet of the director, as I assume Do Jin was doing what he was directed to do.

Overall, a light and "fluffy" (I generally HATE that word as used on MDL) story saved by the charm and charisma of the two leads, a well-filmed setting and fun side-characters. Yechan's physical, sexually-attractive stature implied a welcome vibe that even though we weren't SEEING any down and dirty action, it was definitely in the cards.

I liked that there were no stupid side-couples to eat up time the MC should have. The focus stayed right on Yechan and Yul, where it belonged.

Well-done, light as air but successful at being what it was meant to be and nothing more.

Watched this for a second time after 2 1/2 years.

I remembered most of it as it unfolded and should have bailed but held on through the entire two hours. I had forgotten what a mess it is. The "gay" tags are not at all warranted, as the relationship between the leads never progresses beyond low-key, lame intimations. There is a large side-plot that is a waste of time. Meh

SPECTACULARLY FUNNY and intricately constructed. If you need to know everything right away and can't appreciate hysterical, quirky, low-key humor for its own sake as it unfolds from the beginning, this is not a flick for you. Everything comes together in the end, but I emphatically enjoyed the trip getting there even though I'd no idea how that would happen.

Fun to see Kora Kengo, Itso Atsushi, and Moriyama Morai so young.

All over the place. :) Seriously, I'll give it some thought and see which ones I can remember. It's been a week and it's not a film I cared about remembering so I can't just reel them off.

Oh, biggest one sets the entire plot: Why run in the first place? Daddy was doing his nasty bizness, the guy stopped him, he fought back, so the girl did what she did. The guy was a witness to what was happening, the girl had reported this time and again so there was a history of accusations to build a case on, so why run? Her weak-ass assertion that "no one believed me before" was lame. Before, there had been NO witnesses except perhaps the mother who was obviously trash. Guy should have slapped her and continued his call to 911. Instead they just...run. Stupidly.

Also, they could have simply said the guy did the deed instead of the girl, when he saw what was happening and the dad fought him back.

Not even the slightest plan of escape, nor any attempt to stay out of sight. Supposedly cops everywhere were looking for the pair, yet there they were walking down the middle of deserted streets and highways in the middle of the day (where are the people?) and were never spotted. Lame.

Farmer couple hires these two bedraggled, suspicious-looking young people who have NO clothes or luggage of any kind on them, not even a backpack. Apparently, the couple has no radio or television with which they would already have heard about the knifing and the male/female pair on the run. In the real world, they would have called the cops.

After the pair argued and separated, how the hell did he find her, having no idea which direction she went or how far after two or three days?

That's four holes off the top of my head. There are more I don't recall right now. If you disagree, that's fine, but big holes like that take all the credibility out of a story for me.
