Also I feel SY and XQ should have a bit more of a realistic conversation. I mean she left everything behind to be with him and he said he would be her safe haven but the nature of his job is high risk. They should realistically talk about the very serious death risks at his job. When he clearly knows she is depressed enough to be suicidal maybe he really should rethink or discuss his job and what comes with it openly with her. Otherwise if something ever happened to him, would she be able to bear that emotionally?

Yeah I do agree with you, I really do wish they had done a bit more work to show us her depression.

I have no idea about supertopics , almost all chinese social media apps are banned in my country, so I don't even know about any of it. I don't really care who is saying what , I only pay attention to my own viewing experience and Wei Daxun delivered it well here, he did well in Ordinary Glory and Dr Tang also. Tbh my favourite actor's works regularly get viewed critically, it doesn't matter to me, I like what I like. I am too old to be affected by or pay attention to ship wars or fan wars and any of the related toxicity.

You are not alone, trust me. However here people not only hate him but also the actor that plays him. I kept seeing people saying he is going to stay flop and he is ugly nothing compared to Yang Yang. Honestly I actually like the portrayal of this character by Daxun. Of course it's a messed up character but the performance is good and he brought layers to it , even though he doesn't have a whole lot of screen time,. People will literally come after you if you praise him.

Yeah I actually was liking him with her but as I have now learnt she isn't good in the book, I don't know anymore. It would have been more interesting if he too had a relationship with a poorer person, it would probably help him in good ways, would may be help him learn about respect. He seems quite messed up to me from that upbringing.

I have just started this drama, and I am quite interested already. Let's see how it goes.

In dramas people heal from serious wounds/accidents/serious illnesses in 50x speed. That's the case for any and all dramas.

He was in 8 episodes out of 40 and people think he stole screen time from the leads? Then people are too insecure, cause even in those 8 episodes he wasn't appearing like majorly. Well i spoke my piece yesterday in good faith, but was still deemed a hater. So yeah people really are too extreme.

Love the camaraderie between the firemen so much. Really gets me emotional.

Yeah he too needs therapy because honestly his parents aren't treating him any better. He is creepily controlling towards XQ and extremely elitist towards SY but yeah in some ways he is also struggling in certain aspects.

I do love the slow burn, I prefee drama, complexity, slow burn in an urban romance story. I do think this drama has a good script, it has me engaged for sure , the rescue scenes, the fure fighters' comeraderie are all quite good.

Why is it unnecessary, I don't understand, I have seen many comments here specifically disliking the guest actors. I am making my opinion in a separate post, in a clear way, I mentioned the actors because their performances I really liked, tbh I also am amazed with the performance of the actress playing the mom. She is nailing the role too of the elitist matriarch who is cruel and ruthless. The thing that annoys me the most is how immediately the first thing that comes to mind is that I am a troll and a hater, just because I mentioned the non leads acting? This is baffling.

Any actor is fine with me , if they are able to make me feel things, that's all. My favourite actor is Taiwanese and a generation older, I am not comparing the actors here with my favourite.

I see you keep insulting me and calling me a hater, but yes I do feel Daxun nailed his character, and yes I liked zhang Bin Bin too. The leads have the most screen time so yes their performances and shortcomings are more apparent to me. Anyway since you have absolutely made up your mind about me, there's no point in arguing with you. I will gladly accept that hater tag you gave me. By the way a person here said they did not like Bin bin and I am absolutely okay with that comment cause yeah it's to each their own.

Yes true. My mom got the vertical one for both of her kids, me and my sister, it's a pretty long cut starting from the naval to right up until the pubic region.

I am not a hater , and not a troll, I am absolutely serious about what I have said. I am watching this drama for the story. That's all. I have a clear conscience and no ill will. It's just baffling that some of you can't take negative criticism. That if anyone even politely expressed why they felt the way they did, it's immediately deemed to be from someone who is a troll and who is hateful. Well you can keep going with that belief if that's what makes you happy.

Having finished the halfway mark, I have some thoughts on this drama. I do love the script for this series, it has a solid story,it's dramatic and complex. That being said my biggest problem here in Yang Yang's acting. Now I do want to make myself clear, I am a casual audience , I am not a fan or stan of any of them. I just like to watch a good drama. I felt Zhang Bin Bin and Wei Daxun both out performed Yang Yang here. Zhang Bin Bin did his arc perfectly well. As for Wei Daxun, I have seen a lot of hate towards him in these comments but I want to say I really liked his performance, I have seen him in support roles in other dramas too and he was able to become the character every single time. In this case he is nailing the elitist rich boy role perfectly, and no I do not ship him with his adopted sister at all. But yes he does make me feel interested in seeing what his character does next. Now coming to Yang Yang, the script is pretty solid, it gives the ML a complexity, in his character, his backstory and the person that he is, and I felt Yang Yang's fails to make the emotions come through , many times on his scenes I felt maybe some other actor could do it better. I really hope he can improve in future, I really do. Wang Churan is okay for me , she too has room for improvement but she is better than Yang Yang. Not all the criticism he has received is trolls or hating, a lot of it is very valid. That's really my two cents about the acting. It's a good drama and a complex story which is what I like and that is why I haven't dropped it yet and I am continuing to watch it. Lastly again I want to say this is a very objective personal opinion , you might not agree with me, but this is not to troll or hate anyone. Just a common audience view.
