Outstanding performance in The Red Sleeves. I would say he carry the show well. In fact, he is really good in…
I love Park Eun Bin!! She's so good as well. I think he works well with A List level acting, someone with gravitas. He'll do well in a thriller/crime genre.
He mentioned during Rain or Shine interview that because of his singing duties, that he only had time in his schedule…
Yeah. Him and Lee Se Young team-up in the future pls!! For real, JYPE better not squander this opportunity for him! I hope he can do two projects like he did in 2018/19. Esp. after his big year, the offers he'll get will hopefully be quality works.
why don't he have more dramas than that cuz he's fine lmao
He mentioned during Rain or Shine interview that because of his singing duties, that he only had time in his schedule for one project per year. However, he's currently not performing overseas concert rn either solo or band. I assume he'll focus on this year doing more acting projects.
She gives me Alpha Female vibes with sensuality. I think she has this edge to her. Like she might seem soft from her exterior, but she's actually quite strong inside as confirmed by Kim Min Jae.
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles…
One the Woman was kinda lackluster. He was a cute supportive bro to her. That being said, his scenes all together were like less than 30 minutes. Does he have more to do/more screentime in Jugglers? He also had a small role in Queen of Mystery, like why does his agency select these pitiful small roles? Basically, dude has the charms, but needs better scripts lol.
Yes! Sorry for the way I worded it! Thanks! Also feel free to let me know if this type of info is better said in private and such!
It's great that an iconic director like Park Chan Wook likes to work with young actors. As in, ones who aren't like the Hwang Jung Min/Lee Byung Hyun stalwarts. I would love to see more big name directors work with younger talents.
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles…
Yeah, some shows a S2 makes sense. But generally one and done for me was the main appeal of K-dramas. Exactly! I welcome shorter episodes like 10-12, but ending on a cliffhanger for a S2 that most likely never happens is what grates on my nerves.
As for Lee Won Geun lol, dunno if OCN (or if it'll switch to tvN later) will air this on Netflix, but if it did that would be nice. If Rugal was on Netflix, then this should be too ha. One the Woman/his role was fine, he was cute/supportive brother to her. But it did make me a bit sad that he didn't have much to do in the show. It was nice though to see him finally play a grown up role as a prosecutor/wearing suits!
Random: I asked you a ? relating to your job a while back, and I can't find it now . You don't have to go into specifics, but I was wondering how you landed that job? Was it through your major or by chance? Thanks!
He gave a recent interview where he said big or small role, it doesn't matter to him. He doesn't care about the…
I wish he had a bigger role/more screentime. But he and Lee Honey had cute chemistry together. Plus, he's still young so give or take in 2-3 yrs he could land a good role in a project that pops. I actually mentioned to another user as well, that if he gets into a Netflix project/deal, that would open up more doors for him :).
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles…
Plus, they've less pressure on them in terms of ratings/CFs. I read an article that said that's one of the reasons why OTT/Netflix is appealing is you can create new stars more readily w/o the pressures of ratings. K-drama was always popular in Asia, but yes in the West, its grown rapidly in the last few years. Netflix has played a big role in expanding K-dramas beyond their target audience.
Now, Apple+/Disney+/HBO are joining :O Yeah, I do worry on it becoming too Westernized/seasonal/generic. If it means more risks/chances on the genre/script/cast, I'm here for it. But it seems OTT/streaming is the way of the future. Wouldn't be surprised if Netflix wins a ton at the Baeksangs (First time for a streaming platform if it occurs). I place money on Move to Heaven/D.P/Squid Game dominating.
their character descriptions sound a bit.. meh? i was hoping shk chooses a more interesting role after encounter…
Sometimes I wonder had she chosen Hyena, what would've happened. Now, that would've been a very different role for her. Her and Ju Ji Hoon together would've been so hot.
I'm so excited for his next chapter to begin!! Fighting!! Please work with the following talents: Han Ji Min, Moon Chae Won, Han Ye Ri, Chun Won Hee, in the future!!
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles…
I think after Sassy Go Go, it looked like he could've gone down that route of doing fluffy romance, but I guess the subpar ratings might have hindered him from getting more mains? Its interesting that after his first ML in a drama, he did supporting roles with established stars. Its a job where Jang Hyuk said is seasonal, it might not be now, but eventually it'll come around if they work hard. I hope this role is a meaty one, and can pivot him into working in a Netflix project in the future.
He gave a recent interview where he said big or small role, it doesn't matter to him. He doesn't care about the…
I think he's boyishly cute. He's fresh faced, but oddly I watched him in other roles (Jugglers/One the Woman). He was able to do elicit some masculine vibes, not overtly so, but through his height/deep voice/charm!Either that or high school esque dramas which obviously wouldn't work for him as he's past that stage. I think he's at that awkward stage where he's no longer vying for young romance roles, but also not at that stage to get heavier fare too.
Superior Day is giving him his first serial killer role! I just hope if this succeeds for him, he doesn't get a boat load of serial killer roles next lol.
If The Fiery Priest writer wrote this show, it would've been so much better. He knows how to mix comedy, strong messages, and action very well. Good Casting PD is not a good director imo. Oh well, Lee Honey though she's the man reason for this show's success. She's a comedy goldmine.
He needs better offers for lead roles. Only redeeming one was Sassy Go Go. I saw him in Queen Of Mystery and was…
He gave a recent interview where he said big or small role, it doesn't matter to him. He doesn't care about the size of the role. I guess he probably has realized he's not getting ML offers in stuff he wants? Not a bad mentality to have, but obviously if his roles are just surface level and small too, not a good choice.
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles…
If he was bad, he wouldn't be working in Chungmuro. I think his agency lacks the things to give him better/bigger projects. I was shocked when I found that he used to be at BH Entertainment when he debuted, but moved to a smaller agency like a year later. Had he stayed at BH, I think he would've gotten a bit further.
As you said, he's 31 (Korean age) so he's still young and has a until he's 35 to still make it bigger than he is now. Seems like judging by what he's said, he doesn't crave the spotlight, and thus is ok with taking smaller roles? Maybe this project will showcase a new side to him, and bring him some much needed attention/acclaim. One thing is, OCN's ratings/buzz have declined a lot since Uncanny so I don't have high hopes for him to gain that here :/.
This man deserves more main roles he is so charismatic and that smile.....wow
Lol, I love how this turned into a Lee Won Geun appreciation thread here! Seriously, give him more main roles in more projects!! Netflix please call him!! Dunno, what's stopping this guy from moving on up?!
This guy working on Flower of Evil (Lee Joon Gi suggested him for the role), really upped his career and gave him a big boost again! Aligning with Netflix gives less pressure to artists involved, but a bigger international push on the positive.
