It's a combination of her agency, but also herself. She said she doesn't like fame/attention that comes with it. She said after her successes after The Good Doctor, that the life that came with fame wasn't something she wanted. So she made a conscious choice to roll back with her roles/promotions outside of her acting. I respect her choices, but she's better than majority/if not most Korean drama actresses.
I'm glad Kim SeonHo rejected this as tbh the story feels weak, he already has good momentum so he needs to choose…
IA. KSH would've aced this role, and the premise while funky could've been exciting. But now that he's declined the ML, I feel like he has to choose his next work wisely or else it could stump his momentum. Wonder if Mr. Hong could do it for him? Hmm...

You would think it would be the other way around lol. LJG since he's a veteran/bigger name, would be offered the role first. Then he would reject it, and Seon Ho would be offered the role after he declined it lol. Oh well, the PD knows that this is creating buzz for the drama as its going to be airing in May. Such a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing sexy KSH as a chef. The premise sounded messy, but I was jazzed to see him in this show. Had Moon Chae Won been the FL, I would've been pumped. But alas :/
I think its the FL linking emotions with her that's getting whomever they want in the show, a hard time? Seriously, LJG to KSH to rumored LJW is so random lol. Seems like the PD is sticking daggers on the wall, and seeing what fits. Yeah, LJG always gets ML's first (well officially), so I'm sure that/the story made him decline cause he didn't want leftovers. Which is weird to me lol, b/c he's the bigger star/veteran, so you would think he would've offered first.

You get an idol or rising star, and they lack the brand/name power to lead a show, or you get an older actor, and the age gap is way too large/off. Like is there an actor in their 20s that can work? She's written some great works, so your in good hands. This drama reminds me of My Ahjussi, characters lost in their lives before meeting one another. I assume, b/c this is a melodrama its in great hands b/c the writer/director has written melodramas that have been critically acclaimed/praised. Very excited for this drama!
How come Namoo Actors (LJG's Agency) is so fast with rejecting or confirming news like 1 hr after he was offered compared to SALT? Like KSH probably did decline the role, so what's up with this mystery lol?
Yikes. KSH was first offered the ML in Early Nov. No word officially until this week, with MGY offered the FL. And now LJG declining the ML too. Seems like they need a big/hot actor to be the ML, as MGY is still not a big star/name yet. But seriously, as much as I like KSH, how is he and LJG even in the same league acting/career wise for LJG to be offered leftovers lol? No wonder he declined the role.
Speaking of, I don't see any big names joining the show. I think someone whose desperate for their big break might bag the role. Definitely means the overall selling point of the ML must be hard to convey onscreen, as the role calls for syncing with the FL's emotion as well as other emotions. If done poorly, it could be a colossal flop. But the PD/Writer haven't written anything substantial/great, nor have they worked in ages so yeah this show seems messy for now.
