Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
I hope Mr. Hong gets fast tracked fast, so there won't be any delays. UGH!! I worry about Here (It's been like…
IA with that. It's what makes them grow as an actor tackling diff. genres/roles. KJW is talented, but weirdly she's not an OMG, love her actress. I feel like neutral on her, which is weird b/c she was strong/cool in DOTS. I think she has sad/dreary eyes which gives her a more somber look lol.

If he and KJW, or any 'single' actress get paired. Oh boy, cue the dating rumors. I wonder how he'll handle that. Do you think he'll handle it well? I notice in his BTS clips, he seems quite affectionate to the FL's. Like from a casual eye, it looks like flirting lol. Wonder if he's the type to fall in love with an actress on set?

Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
Shin Min Ah is positively reviewing the script so I don't think she would reject the offer and KSH is popular…
I see so many talented yet under-appreciated actors. So much of it is timing, lucky, and opportunity. The PD of Start Up gave KSH that chance, and well look how well it turned out for him. If that didn't happen, he would've prob. been in the same boat doing ML's before doing 2nd ML's for the rest of his career. In K-dramas, it's not about the acting :( but the visuals rme. Now, the tricky part is for KSH to chose a quality project/role next.

I think b/c of MKY's age, she was 23 and he was 33. Of course, age gap pairings have been done before. But I think it wasn't a rom-com, so they didn't focus on that aspect. Yeah CTG is underrated! I really enjoyed it too! Too bad, KSH doesn't seem to like CTG that much. He doesn't really talk about it that much. It's always Start Up, which I get, but ugh lol. I wonder if he and Moon Geun Young talk still?

I wonder if he doesn't do romance centered shows b/c he's afraid of rumors spreading? I remember he and the 2nd FL from 2 Cops had them. She and him, well their vibes together in pics seem almost couple like...

As a fan, I want to see him do an actual rom-com. Like Her Private Life or I Need Romance like lol, where he and the FL have a adult/sexy/flirty relationship together.

Ah SNS is toxic lol. I had to step back b/c it got too much. Although I do hope SALT takes it easy, I feel like KSH has been so much lately. I still can't believe he's 35 lol.

As for SMA, she's also signed for Here/another drama. So dunno what'll happen. I do worry if she declines, if they'll cast someone worse. As for dating rumors, its good too/less pressure on KSH. SMA is great! She donates/helps burn victims annually, and visits them in hospitals too. Love her!

One ?: Do you like the direction KSH's career has gone too? Do you miss his pre-fame days? Taking the fan goggles off, do you think KSH is going to be hot rn but forgotten about later?

Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
I feel like I look at Kwak Si Yang who is talented, and has worked with big A List names, more so than KSH has worked with. Yet, his career is stuck/not propelled in the way KSH was. Life is weird lol, who knows whose going to pop off and not.

YDMC kiss was more so b/c of Lee Yoo Young lol, as in we see more of her face than his. I don't know, I don't think w/o the help of Netflix/2 Young Hallyu stars/Love Triangle, he would've blown up in a huge way. The PD choosing him was a god send for KSH. It changed his career hugely.

If not for S.U, he would've done another Waikiki like show that goes under the radar and is forgotten about in the general public. Before becoming a 2nd ML. Plus he's 34 going on 35, if he didn't pop off now, it would be hard b/c he would've been plummeted by younger/'hotter' actor vying for ML's.

SMA is curvier then most K-drama FL's. She has a more hour glass body. Same lol. She looks healthy and sexy. Very womanly. Meow!! KSH would be lucky to work with a goddess!!

Same. I saw a tweet saying Christmas in August w/ him and Suzy, and PLS Stop!! Hmm for child actresses, not bad but they're 21 and he's 34. That's a nope for me. Rather see him work with people his age or older. Do you want him to regress in his career? He can't keep working with young pretty actresses, or else he'll be pigeonholed to just do fluffy rom-coms like Ji Chang Wook.

Thank goodness for tvN!! I know he's at KBS, but tvN has better quality scripts. So him having a relationship w/ them is very smart. I hope he can do Mr. Hong/Link this yr!! If he excels in those 2 dramas, and they do well (reviews/ratings) then KSH's career is going to sky-rocket into another level.

I don't think he's that innocent looking lol. Have you seen some of his play clips or promos? I def. think he has a mischievous side to him, that's yet to be revealed in his roles. I want to see him play a dick lol. He semi did it in SDM, cocky arrogant prick. He was super hot lol.

There in lies the problem. His loyalty could cost him in the end. Same with 2d1n. SALT is trying to make him a big star. But what does KSH truly want? He's no longer just a theatre actor anymore. He now has fans, expectations, and more eyes on him.

I think the more he stays on 2d1n, the more his acting could suffer. Trying to do both well, but not really fully committing. Ravi has to enlist next yr, so I guess we shall see if anything changes to the core cast. I think KSH might be on 2d1n for 1-2 yrs tops.

HJP was his breakthrough role career and fame wise. But it was break through role, not career defining. As in changing the trajectory of his career where he's now a superstar A List leading man. He's now a rising star, where before Start Up, he was a talented but under appreciated actor who would've gotten some ML's in under the radar dramas that people forget when it ends. Before slowly going into 2nd ML territory.

HJP was such an iconic role. It's good that he 1st has a role that is known with his name now. It's a good start. But yes, HJP's role in the latter end was weak/diminished his arc which could've been more. So many people I know who watched S.U, said KSH/HJP killed/smashed the role. He's gained so many fans due to his role.

Shin Min Ah got nominated for the Korean version of the Oscar for Diva. Which is a dark horror thriller psychological film. She was fierce and mature in Chief of Staff. She's a goddess!! More curvy than Korean actresses. KSH and SMA pairing is genius. Thank god, he got paired with SMA, and not some crappy young idol actress or young actress.

This is one of the dramas that made me realize how beautiful she is. Also her character is so smart, cool, and…
She's grown A LOT as an actress. Which is what you want to see an actress grow. 2016-onwards, she's been aces in all her works.

This show is pretty much the first kdrama I've watched where anybody has said a prayer and mentions Jesus Christ!
I LOL'd when after someone says Jesus Christ, a child starts screaming haha. Also 56% of Koreans are non-religious, so I think that's part of it.

I hope they pull back on that aspects that might be KSH's traits in the future. Although, he would have to do more crime/thriller/political thrillers if that's the case. He's played a villain in Strongest Delivery Man. And he's played grey characters in Two Cops. His next role is somewhat of a darker role, he has to scream/curse/fight/hit an innocent child/suspect in his next play.

I don't think he needs to do 2d1n anymore too. Like 2021 should be his year to focus on his acting career. If he loses 2021, then he might regret it hugely. He has to win more at the Baeksang's imo, as that's more of a bigger picture of whose actually the best in Korea.

Well he's the only big name outside of PSH in SALT. PSH got her roles/offers b/c of her name. So I don't have much faith in SALT in ushering his career into long term prospects. They also need to be carry not to over expose him, like Jung Hae In and create backlash on him.

Korea's idol worship of celebs is creepy. I'm sure with more fame, comes more attention on their personal life. Let's just hope KSH doesn't get into any scandals, and focus on his work. Trust no men lol. Like who knows what the future holds?

I rather him do 2 dramas this year, and solidify his plan in the TV industry if he had to choose between acting or variety.

I worry that he's giving way too much into fans requests. He's not an idol or a pretty boy. It's veering into a territory where I feel like creates false barrier. When in fact, it does seem he is privy to fan's requests. I remember he told his fans not to give him any gifts or presents. But now with all these things, I feel like that line is slowly going away which worries me a bit. Like I see why he would, but I do feel a bit bad that on his day off, he can't just properly rest anymore.

GHJ is charismatic and natural. She looks distinct from other printed copies that other Korean actresses look like. She's also has a cool and frank persona in real life. She doesn't do any aegyo or cutesy acts.

KSH is 34, that's an age where in 5 yrs, he'll do more mature/melodramatic work. He's at an awkward stage, look at Cho Seung Woo, he did Stranger when he was 36. Or Jang Hyuk who did Chuno when he was 33, same age as Lee Byung Hyun was when he did All In. Ji Sung when he did Kill Me, Heal Me at 36.

He has to be a Main Male Lead in a career defining project like those actors in 2 yrs tops. He has the potential to get a potentially career changing/life changing role like those men got in their mid 30s.

Hmm, I suppose. I hope he gets a Chuno, Stranger, All In, Kill Me, Heal Me type of project/role that boosts his career in a big way not in a short term popularity way, but actually career wise.

For ratings, he could. But he has to choose a right project, acting wise this guys brings him mass critical acclaim. Like not a "He's the best part of this show." but "This show is excellent, and he's one of the reasons why."

I would choose Shin Min Ah. She's worked with some of the biggest and best actors in Korea: Lee Byung Hyun, So Ji Sub, Hyun Bin, Ju Ji Hoon, Jo Jung Suk, Jo In Sung, Cho Seung Woo, Park Hae II, Kang Dong Won, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Sung Min, Cha Seung Woo, Jung Yu Mi, Lee Seung Gi, Lee Jung Jae, and Choi Ji Woo, That alone says a lot. Kim Seon Ho joining the ranks of those people is huge for his career going forward.

Oh I see! Is his screen time good? As in not just 5 minutes, but 10-15 minutes per episode? I just heard that he was excellent in this show. More serious and bad-ass than his other shows.

Also what is up with him and FL's? Like why does he always have to like them/harbor a crush on them lol?

JCW is well a unique case. As for KSH, it does seem with him, he at least seems more hellbent on furthering his craft, and learning more. Thing is JCW was 27/28 when he did all those things. Compared to KSH. who is 34 going on 35. Age wise, very diff. issue. It's like trying to latch on to the fame whereas it took other actors in their early to mid 20s to get there.

K-dramas typically shoot 5-6 months. I personally don't think health wise/acting wise/mental wise, doing all those things are going to serve him well. Best to focus on his TV career, and helm a well written show first before latching onto short term prospects.

Interesting...Objectively speaking, do you find the roles he's been given thus far, have some overlapping traits (Not acting wise) but personality/background wise? His family background is always bad in his dramas. And he always is portrayed as a softie when it comes to love.

The tricky part is getting him a ML role that shows off a different side to him that doesn't remind us of HJP.

You and me are both like he'll prob. have to leave 2d1n. Objectively thinking, even if he wants to stay on. Eventually, he'll have to choose between his acting career or variety career as he gets more offers/greed in his acting. The issue is, he's still on 2d1n and seems to want to be on it as long as possible. But will his agency/his blooming acting career allow that to happen? It's worrying me that he seems ambitious in wanting to be a better actor, but thing is he can't just do plays/2d1n. Even if he wants to, SALT won't allow that to happen.

I just hope he doesn't get turned into a celebrity (It's already happening to him), but I mean long term wise. He has to choose good/quality project. Slice of Life shows if it's not Reply Series don't do so hot. And he's not an actor that has proven himself to lead a show to ratings victory yet.

He's not in a place to be picky/take a break yet. Maybe in his 40s? But not rn. He has to capitalize on HJP's success well. There are actors who got massive love, and then the next year someone newer/better/hotter came in. I notice other than 2020, every year since his debut in 2017, he co-starred in 2 dramas every yr. So I wouldn't be shocked if he does 2 dramas this year until he finds his footing in the TV industry. Before taking a break, later once he establishes his name in dramas.

GHJ is an ex. of an actress that doesn't rely on the pretty, but makes weird/un-conventional choices. She's unique in a world full of copies.

I personally think the older actors of the prior generation just had more class, mysteriousness, and took more chances. The actors you mentioned are all great.

On terms of a great actor, I consider versatile actors to be great. As in, doing diff. roles/genres, and being a chameleon. One they're a hero, and the other a villain. Comedy/horror/drama and excelling in that too!

As for KSH, I don't consider him in that league w/ those actors yet. I feel like he's always the stand out in his dramas, but I feel like the give him similar personalities. Of course, he performs the role differently.

I think KSH's strength lies in the fact that he has a boy next door appeal, but can be manly too. He's not a pretty boy nor stunning looking. He has a distinct look, that the more you watch in motion, the more his looks grow on you.

As for epic shows, I can see him in a Stranger or Signal like show in the future. I would love to see him in Kingdom in JJH's role adjacent. Somewhere imposing, bad-ass, and commanding. He did mention being interested in debuting in a film too. I think, doing films can be a good way for him to exercise his chops further more.

I personally don't know if a LMH/NJH route suits him. Dude is 35 now, those 2 guys got big in their early 20s. For KSH, b/c of his late bloom, I don't think he'll choose fluffy stuff as he's at a stage where he'll be 40 soon. And I don't think he'll want to do teenage stuff/fluffy stuff, b/c his transition in his 40s is going to be awful imo.

Imo, for KSH, he's just getting started. He was great in CTG, but it wasn't until Start Up where he fully tapped into his acting prowess. I saw a different actor in the show. He became more confident and transformed completely from the image I had of him in the past.

Thing is, he's always the best part of whatever he's been in. Now, the trick is using that into a well written show next. So his full potential can be un-locked.

I don’t know. As long as he stays true to himself and being humble as he is now, he’ll be fine. I think people…
That's a good point. His agency seems to be making him out to be a star? I think time will tell. It's a tough business. He might have to do choices he doesn't want to do in order to sustain his footing in Korea. I seen some say next Hallyu star too. Which is another diff. level. He can keep doing theatre/2d1n, but at some point his agency/himself want to do more acting esp. given his popularity rn.

That is true. We all start from somewhere. This is the role that launched him into stardom. Only thing is, the role that made him known is HJP. So every role he does from now on, will get judged in comparison to HJP. Which can make him stressed out and pigeonholed, as the role that made him known is also what might hold him back? HJP is a cool, confident, charismatic, and cold guy at times. He was great in his other roles, yes, but what if the other roles he does doesn't pop off?

As for him outside of acting. Thing is, he keeps saying how much 2d1n means to him. And helps him after shooting is done. I mean, it seems like he says he wants to be on the show as long as he can be. But issue is, on Start Up, the PD changed the shooting schedule to accommodate him. Issue is won't this cause issues in the future?

I heard Shin Sung Rok couldn't do Penthouse because of Master in the House. What happens, when your project conflicts with the variety show? I don't think SALT would like that, if they get an option of acting vs variety, they'll surely choose acting for him.

As for theatre, he said he'll never do a drama/play at the same time again. So plays are 3 months right? So that leaves him 9 months out of the year, to do a film or drama. As for workload, he's crazy lol. How did he do Start Up, and 2d1n which is strenuously on the body/mind??! He's going to have a mental breakdown at some point :(

I mean, it's 1 month since the show ended. Now imagine, a few months later with him leading a show for the first time alongside doing variety too. No way, a future PD will be as accommodating now with the shooting schedule because he's now the Main Lead.

Even if he doesn't want to leave 2d1n, his agency will surely force him to do so, if it interferes with their future prospects of him.

Hmm, random note, since you seem more well versed on K-dramas. Who do you think are actually talented/versatile actors in Korea? Do you feel Kim Seon Ho is a great actor or a likable/charming actor? Do you think he has what it takes to become a critically acclaimed actor going forward? Or not?

Did he have his own separate arc from the two leads stories?

I heard his character got more to do in the last two episodes.
