ML completely makes this drama. kind of wish he gets cast in something more serious because he has a lot of presence. Yoona.. she still can't act. Comedy =/= overacting and twisting your facial expressions in bizarre ways. I wish she'd understand this.

well that's normal because usually negotiations take months. I'm kind of uncertain about the director names thrown around. One of them is Zi Ye Gui's director and imo he really likes to shoot closeups of faces and I don't like his style :/

tbh I'm kind of meh about the plot, it sounds typical historical idol drama, buuut the styling is the same team as Zhu Yu and imo XZ is his best looking historical look so far so I'm excited for more pretty Linghe lol

The Best Thing has insane longevity on IQIYI, both domestically and internationally. I just checked, and it's still #14 on IQIYI China and #8 on IQIYI international. You have to remember TBT is just a low budget modern drama. IQIYI already released so many big budget costume dramas this year yet most of them don't have the longevity of this drama..

I hope after the rumored costume drama, Linghe will do another modern drama

I think we read the same melon? lol I don't think it's confirmed because the melon basically said FL, director & filming start date are all unconfirmed. If we don't hear anything concrete in a month or so, I'm gonna guess it won't begin filming this year.

yeah a lot of people mentioned that it looks like a short drama but tbh I think the production company was going for that kind of feel. it was mentioned at the IQIYI conference

rewatching it, I love love loveee the 2nd part when there's that violin playing omg the fast cuts and high tension!!

yess that wide shot of the building made me go wait wut lol that is modern shanghai...

also this director really likes filming close ups. I hope there's more wide shots in the actual drama.

what was released wasn't a trailer. it's a "director cut" kind of snippet of scenes. I hope they change the filter a bit to give it more of a vintage vibe
