can someone spoil me with the main plot (eg the conflicts etc) because reading the summary and watching the trailer, I can't seem to figure out what the story is about lol it seems a bit too.. flat so far. Like girl goes to see doctor for insomnia and they fall in love. where's the conflict to drag this out to 28 episodes lol

imo China does historical dramas better than modern dramas. I prefer to watch korean or japanese modern dramas. China's modern dramas are always unnecessarily long and as a result end up dragging too much.

btw Chasing Jade will start filming on December 15th! I will avoid weibo on that day because I feel like the fans of the leads will fight over billing lol

have you noticed ZLH and Dylan Wang have a lot of overlapping female leads lol Esther Yu, Bai Lu and now Tian Xi Wei all within the last 2 years or so. Almost expecting ZLH to work with Shen Yue too. I know fans were protesting Chasing Jade but I am sooo happy he's working with TXW. She's my fav of the newer generation actresses. Super pretty and a good actress. Plus same age as him. Feel like he usually works with actresses older than him or a lot younger than him.

the director is a long time cinematographer for Guo Jingming and anyone that has watched Guo's films would know he reallyyyy likes dark material lol the source novel is kind of light hearted so was kind of weird seeing the teaser look so dark

I've watched one of the mini dramas he's done (the one with Cheng Lei) and it's VERY good tbh. the director knows how to shoot people. Honestly, I think ZLH's cfans are just causing him more trouble.

tbh I don't get why. the scriptwriter and director are both good. sometimes fans are just stupid. they haven't even seen the script themselves yet are trying to control the actor.

the reason to reject it because "the director never directed big dramas" is so so so stupid. by that logic, you can only work with veterans.

"too many episodes" can describe 99% of cdramas. romcoms have no business being over 30 episodes imo.

tbh I think Tan Jianci should slow down a bit with his projects because some of the dramas he's picked aren't good enough and if it airs poorly, people end up blaming him. this drama is just very.. awkward. the humor is too slapstick and unfunny.

is it just me or has this drama been aired continuously without breaks?

after seeing some of the filming pics for Our Generation, I think I look forward to this drama more lol the styling is just so much better

modern dramas don't have special effects so post-production is usually quicker. how soon it can air depends on IQIYI's scheduling. I just hope they PROMOTE this drama lol ZLH's other drama that aired on IQIYI recently had like zero promo :/

filming apparently starts tomorrow! they will be filming high school scenes. both ML & FL will be on site. dunno if there will be paparazzi pics tho lol this isn't really an idol drama..

also you guys the most impressive part of this project is the production company, director and scriptwriter! look up Daylight's filmography. they've released some of the most acclaimed cdramas in recent years. that's why given their involvement, I don't think this will be a simple romance drama.

no this isn't true. he interviewed for the role.

the screenwriter in particular is impressive. she has almost no misses but this is also a different foray for her. makes me think this won't be a simple romance drama.
