pls give him more comedy roles like gu yanzhen this man is made for comedy he excel in it and he does it so so well too, i know it also probably his sharp face that keep landing him cold guy character but gu yanzhen was iconic and i miss liking his character

i mean personally for me idt he was faking/hiding all his cheerfulness as he was potrayed in HL. i feel like his real personality is more like sarcastic chill indifferent guy but when we see in HL we more inclined to see him as comedic relief, but i definitely think it's a matter of POV and when combined with how we understand his character in TFF, you get new understand of what his character actually is.

idk if im explaining this right but basically when i first read HL novel i would view him as funny character but after reading first frost i would reevaluate my understanding of his character in HL novel, and intepret all his behaviours, talking and traits in TFF and compares with how he was written in HL. so basically, on my first read of HL i would find him funny, but on my second read i would read and imagine him saying all this stuffs in sarcastic, indifferent, witty kind of way.

maybe that's why i prefer if HL drama sang yan would retain more of sang yan chill character in TFF novel bc while i was always entertained by sang yan, i think he would never say and do all those stuffs in exaggerated kind of way as HL drama potrayed him. basically he is and never was a comedic relief, he is still the same as he is in both novel

baby sister and widowed refer to jia lin and xuyan right? i have not watched this but i think that was also pretty much how they were written in the original drama? (gentleman dignity) ofc i might be wrong bc it's been years since i watch it but i remember liking them out of all couple in the show so i kind of like want to watch this just for them

idk about this version but the original is totally not bl for me and i like it that way personally, it is fun to see pure friendship in a show, nothing against shipping but i think love between friendship is as precious as romantic love

bc it is from adaptation, ahn hyoseop can act but he has act in 2 drama adapted from original source and i dont like his intepretation. i think he is good if the show is not based on anything. i personally had no issue with lee minho as YJH, ik many said he is a bad actor but i have seen him as doctor and assassin (if that was what his role in city hunter) and i think he was okay. he wasnt horrible and his acting was decent to me

im not seeing lee soohyuk as YJH and sometimes finding his acting stiff but heavy on siwan

i cant relate with the not feeling romantic chemistry comments bc their relationship are what i love and there were my IT couple in 2021 (along with zhou siyue and ding xian) everyone has different preference for the kind of love they like, and i like the kind of love mika and xing kelei had for each other. there were so many popular romantic drama that ppl swear has the best chemistry but i personally not feeling them bc it could get too cringe for me i would find myself suddenly making face bc i couldnt understand the sudden emotions in some other romantic drama. but the feelings i get from this is just right, the banters the development, i love it. maybe they act like friends for some, but certainly there are lover out there who also in this trope irl so it isnt too weird 😄

i think that's just the character she supposed to potray idk, try watching a romance of little forest, she played kind of like 'diva' character, idk if ppl think it's childish but i certainly dont, in fact that's kind of my fav character of hers

i think saying victor ma only suited for comedic roles might be a disservice to him, even if he think so, bc frankly i havent seen much of his show but i do think his acting talent can be explored more to see what other roles he capable in.

but simply put, this is different production not a sequel but spin off. and bc the novel is really popular & sang yan character itself is the most popular in the shared universe they cant use victor ma. there's a reason why victor ma got some lashing when they first revealed he played sang yan. and i dont think victor ma was ever considered bc of all the rumours of possible ML casting, there were never his name not even after HL aired and the casting rumour has exist since FF announced adaptation (late 2022 iirc) and the casting rumour gotta be one of melons that keep appearing and keep changing bc this is such a popular IP.

when HL first aired, first frost douyin team even took the time to comment that HL sang yan is not the same as FF sang yan, so it's obvious they already had other actor in mind. so they chose an actor that has both looks and acting talent with some reputation among gp (so far his recent drama since 2022 has good amount of views). easily said, they want the drama to be successful. ofc some would still debate that bai jingting do not really fit sang yan look, but out of every sang yan rumours, his acting is the best imo.

probably intl fans dk much about BJT and still prefer VM, but at least in China BJT is more well known for his acting. and for chinese production team, while intl recognition is great, it is always more profitable for them if the drama is successful in mainland. also, sang yan character in first frost and HL are different. sang yan is more like sarcastic cold and indifference than being funny as he was shown in HL

i mtled the novel here. it is quite easy to understand imo, the novel is really long i already stop reading bc i can no longer escape my irl responsibility lol

the novel is much worse and FL is more dumber than she was in the drama but guess who couldnt stop reading? yes me! this is a fun read when you trying to escape your responsibility, she makes me angry but not to the point that blood boils 😂

as i mentioned i understand their suspicions, i do see things from their pov but there were also many undercover women, many female assassins (tho im not sure about historical facts) so while women in those era do not possess the kind of knowledge she did, if they think of her as extraordinary and have the means then it is not that weird. everything about her is suspicious but it does not mean colluding with the uncle is the only thing, she could be in some secret organisation for all we know (if this was in other drama) my point is they could not even spare her some doubt, not even thinking out loud, not even once, that she might not in the same page with the uncle when song mo himself was different from his father. imo they just want easy conclusion for her suspicious behaviour. all i need is simply a one moment of doubt, idc that the opinion of her is with her uncle is the stronger opinion, it make sense anyway, but at least if it were me i would be listing all the possibilities and weighing between my options, but they seem to be set only on one conclusion from the start.

song mo i havent even settled with the fact that you still long for your father affection in early episodes, i consider dropping the show simply bc of that bc it's character like his be pissing me off the most than evil characters 😭 like know your worth!!
