rewatching as an adult (up to ep4), i find myself liking the humour, i used to find it dry before but certainly i have changed and accustomed myself to this kind of comedy. but i find ji euntak quite unlikeable in this rewatching experience, never thought she was greedy before but she wants both comfort and company. i get her, with all her painful experience i truly do, but i still think beggars cant be chooser 😭 ig it supposed to potray her young age but some teens will be comfortable with just getting one of good things yk.

i wonder why he want to retire in his first timeline and what's the pill he is taking that he seems hesitant to tell her when they met again for second time in present timeline (EP8 iirc)

i also watched after hype has died down and for me it's worth the hype. watched the first time when LR first start coming to netflix and enjoy it, not to the point of obsessed but i can see why many like it, my initial rating was 9. i rewatch for second time ytd and it became 10. probably bc the first time i had prejudiced towards KHY (i dont like her past acting for this kind of role) so it influence the watching experience but after getting used to it i find myself liking the show a lot

i think he definitely would if he like the project but maybe not anytime soon. just like it took him years to finally star in his first BL, maybe it will take him another couple of years before doing another one

the story of kyung pil and her father breaks me, cried for kyung pil and saddened for her father.

idt he is supposed to be likeable and that's what his character are

ik but it was too long, the arc could have been shorter imo, it was too much unnecessary details of what happen in the past (that was not related to them as in hua yuoxian backstory, lovestory etc) imo, they could touch all these with less details

idt you read my other comments bc i said i was no longer repulsed about it being HE simply bc he suffer and she took long time to marry him. so im not really someone who think no one deserve second chance. his suffering is exactly what made the second chance worthy. i understand him, and his characterisation, but he is exactly like most men in the older day, a misogynist. and i dont fully blame those men with those backward thinking in those era, but the long suffering is a lesson to him to value women more, that they are not just a plaything, that men chastity are not superior than women, that the standards they hold to women should also be held on them and mingyi taught him exactly that. hence him being a loser malewife later who advocate for women made a good redemption arc on his part, eventho he solely do it only for mingyi.

i never said mingyi was perfect in fact i feel conflicted when she establish her harem, bc i am someone who believe in gender equality so it pains me seeing her doing things she hate happening to women to "innocent" men, but at the same time it was a needed lesson for men of those era. i just wish no one end up hurting in the procrds but ofc two people (ZZH and STL) still end up getting hurt. im not against her harem i just wish she handle it much better and as for approaching jin bozai, it takes two people to make it work, he could not have fell for it but he did bc that was just in his nature. as i said i can understand all his ambitions as a person but for a lover, he was truly a terrible man just as his master said. it was not only for the fact that he "betray" her, but angry at the fact that she cant understand him instead of apologising properly, stringing her along when he was not even interested in marriage (before he betray her) instead of coming clean and just all his mindsets which he think he is entitled to just bc he is THE man in the relationship. but he has character development and it is solely due to mingyi not making it easy for him that changed his views and turn him into a better person (in term of his mindset towards women)

pls recommend more dark romance like this that are not cringe to watch. i knew short cdrama has a lot of it but i always avoid watching bc of poor production (i tend to always only watch longer ep cdrama bc it is more well produced). i remember there is one japanese drama where he kidnap a girl and they became friends so pls do give recs for any interesting plot like this that are well produced

youxian arc is too long and unnecessary. as i keep reading, idk why i need to know about this, the story would be just fine without it. idk what the editor is thinking should have given us more of liu bowang and princess if the writer wanna drag the novel. hopefully the drama just cut this arc short

if i must be honest rereading still make me angry with jbz so i do like seeing him suffer 😔 and i feel like each time he made a mistake he think that it is already a great thing that he yield for her (which it is for someone like him) instead of recognising he did wrong and expect her to listen and understand him, hence the long suffering is kind of necessary to make him realise this flaw and fix it bc he learn to "bow down" to her and his love became more sincere imo. i wish the drama change in the aspect of ZZH & STL love for her, make them care for her but was not romantic kind of love

while it is good revenge to JBZ i cant quite enjoy it bc my heart break for ZZH 😭😂

i was no longer repulsed of them being together bc i like that it took her quite some time to get back to him but zhou zhihong...why cant the writer be nicer to him, why cant they make him love lady xu, why must he fell for mingyi in the first place and there is situ ling my baby 😭😭😭

idk why he cant just tell her about the wedding, they have schemed together, she even once pretended to be abandoned by him, i fully believe she could understand had she known, tho it is not like he want to marry anyone in the first place. i like that she is calm after, that's the best reaction to confront your partner who played you

as i'm 178 chapters in the novel, currently hoping this will have BE, if i were mingyi i would understand ML ambitition, stuffs he did, things he hide so i will forgive him but as a lover i cant bring myself to accept him as my partner, that would be doing disservice to myself and giving happiness to him.

thank you. but i still think the father is unforgivable bc he ignore haejo for years (prior to haejo running away) we witness him seeking affection from his father from child to him graduating, if i guess correctly it is quite comparable to 8 years but not more, i get the initial reaction of being shocked and ig he cant adapt to the shock well bc not soon after his wife passed but his grief is long enough, ofc he can grief as long as he want but not to the point of ignoring his child in this situation, (as their situation is quite sensitive since he was not their biological child which may lead to the child insecurity) i do think he probably suffer from depression but regardless i still think he is a horrible father 😭

nothing wrong with watching 2x speed, one still watch whole things. some ppl skim watch bc they do not have much time but impatient to know the story and will rewatch when they have times on their hands again. some ppl got their interest going after knowing things, some ppl got their interest died if they have to wait for long, i am these kind of ppl. and simply bc the whole parents story irked me so much i wish to know first bc my emotions is handled much better after being spoilt. it is the decision of either i will watch the part or skip it, if some viewers can skip last episodes due to sad ending why cant some skip certain scenes that makes them angry or giving secondhand embarassment? if you refuse to entertain with viewers like me you are free to scroll away

im asian too but i think it is more likely east asian things. so basically everything the father did is still unforgivable and there were no misunderstanding. did the mother commit suicide or was it due to accident?

pl spoil me the real misunderstanding with his parents bc up to early ep10, i dont see how any reason could just justify their reaction and the choices they have made after. even if the father did not abandon him, the lack of affection, the no communication is enough to make a child feel unwanted
