so they keep the misunderstanding yining had for jiaxue in the novel altho they tweak it a bit, i feel sad for him for that. anyone who read the novel can let me know why she think he tried to kill her in the novel?

lol the comments honestly it is all about preference. i like this drama better than are you the one bc it keep me engaged while AYTO is too chill for my liking (both leads esp wang churan is my bae but it couldnt keep me engaged), and bc i love zhang wanyi to death in lost you forever (S1 Is masterpiece & S2 is acting feast) so i find his serious cold face in AYTO quite similar to LYF which made me dislike his acting there a bit (still love him tho)

so do watch all these 3 shows and see which is more to your liking

a thriller show could kept me on the edge of the seat too but it could or could be not angsty. tho i agree about love between fairy and devil, it could definitely be clarified as angst for some or many as it has quite sad moments tho i personally wasnt really affected emotionally, i do cry but my heart did not ache for them (if you get what i mean 😅) i can cry for lots of sad/touched moments but my hearts will not necessarily be moved or terribly ached.i never dislike any kind of tropes and definitely do not dislike strangers to lovers trope, it just in term of emotional pain i was always moved more in second chance romance, it is predictable but again as you said, it is how it is executed bc imo the longing, tension, and yearning in second chance, if executed well, is greater than if it being shown in other other tropes and it always made me feel something bc i dont consider myself as easily moved. my most angst drama of this year is tender light, it is a stranger to lover, i dont think i cry but they definitely stab my heart. all in all, it goes back to our preference on what we consider angsty

i definitely didnt imply most couples are uninterested and while i do think strangers who fell in love can definitely giving angst moment (depending on the trope eg. not approved by family, class problems, star crossed lovers etc) but most of the time people who broke up and still hung up on their ex are most likely to be more angsty. angst genre in my understanding is like the insecurity, frustration, depressive, darkness, sad, emotional pain basically opposite of fluffs and warmth. the feeling of falling in love for the first time, knowing strangers, going on first date ( yes one will be scared to make mistake or even get sad thinking they did bad or not reciprocated but genuinely i dont consider those as angsty feelings unless it was a very strong one sided feelings (when it was not reciprocated)) the every first...those are exciting feelings, being nervous, having butterflies and very rarely are giving sadness. i guess we just have different views of angst bc i associate it with emotional pain and heartwrenching feelings, and falling in love for the first time just dont give me that emotional pain unless it was one sided or misunderstanding trope and it was never about physical stuffs for me

genuinely i dont think interested strangers that just met are more angst than ex lovers that still had feelings for each other but hesitate and scared to get back, the tension the memory of the past, the longing...not many strangers to lovers will give those feelings

i feel the same about kim hyeyoon which made me unable to enjoy her acting, her voice in normal tone is fine but when she get so chirpy and speaking in higher tone it bothers me so much i couldnt bring myself to watch lovely runner despite the hype, but one day i was so bored and finally start watching and i am so glad i did bc her voice didnt bother me as much as it was in extraordinary you and i get to see lovely runner hype, not among favourite drama but deserve the hype

really dont understand drama logic and settings sometimes, they chose yuanjing bc there will be lots of people but end up meeting in the forest kind of place and quite secluded if you ask me 😭 my guess is it was quite near to the pavillion but i dont see it as a safe meeting place at all

i think the netflix one is like poor adaptation of the book while this is the good adaptation, tho i never watch both and read the book but i would say if the book fans most likely prefer this version then it probably worth watching this first

in the chinese drama they also shown very early of ling xiao having feelings for jian jian but in subtle way

1) LX keep saying he will marry her to her face
2) LX getting flustered when she said his blanket smells good and forbid her from staying in his room (in the kdrama they changed it to his perfume whatsoever which kind of disappointing imo bc this clearly shown how he has always seen her as a woman)

maybe it just me but it is pretty much known to me that he liked her since early but it was her feelings for him that was not executed properly in the OG version that made me not rooting for their romance, tho i hope the kdrama would show their romance better

it was not forced childish, her voice is naturally like that. go watch her interview and watch one of the best show of last year, ray of light and judge her acting after watching more of her. probably so far her potrayal is not to your liking but she is a good actress

zhang wanyi is known as one of the actor that has great line delivery this is why most of the time he dubbed himself so yall highly likely dont have to worry in the future too. unrelated but this remind me of esther yu, some ppl find her voice distracting but she too has good line delivery that's why she always dubbed herself in most her drama (or probably all?)

not saying others who were dubbed has poor line delivery, it could be the dialect, the noise, the setting or the suitability itself but sometimes it indeed bc their line delivery is not good enough

are you the one has different plot from this tho and it is very light.....just say you like the actress more but storywise i prefer this more

as someone who watch cdrama their rate is quite fair, drama that get high rated are also popular in mainland. meet yourself 10/10; there is a reason why it is highly rated in china. they probably felt creeped out by jiaxu honestly me too but i didnt stop watching bc of that and idt it should be rated that low but our dislikes can fuel us to be biased in rating. best choice ever has annoying mom and ml which thankfully has character development but i get why it is rated 1.

did they toned down haejun life story? have yet to watch but curious bc his story arc was the most heartbreaking part of the story

start off so good and i was almost obsessed for main cp but idk if i can handle this if the SML continue having lots of screentime and keep being insufferable. at first he was annoying but then he get more annoying and his annoying level just keep on increasing that i keep frowning the more he talk and had to stop at some point bc man just wouldnt stop being nosy? i genuinely believe if one care about their friends they wouldnt do this to them publicly just to humiliate their ex especially when most of the facts are wrong. idk how she continue being friend with him honestly

but him aside i totally dig the main cp, i love second chance romance bc of the angst and yearning and they definitely deliver in that aspect so far the post interview hello?? im hurting for them!
