im siwan i can only think of him, if you have seen him in misaeng it fits the image of collar worker dokja.
i never see ahn hyoseop as dokja or like imagine he would be him when LA was announced. i have seen LMH in city hunter and i think he can play that role but i dont like his casting bc that means we only get big casting name and it further proved by jisoo recent casting.
i would very much prefer ORV team to focus more on the production since we know orv world is so complex and needs lots of cgi and i hope we get costume for the constellations.
my personal preference for YJH tho would be ji changwook, he is a good actor and good action actor as well. ofc JCW is a popular actor as well but if they really going to this route i very much prefer JCW over LMH
Maybe because Ahn Hyo Seop tends not to continue reading or watching the original materials (e.g., BP, Sood).…
i genuinely dont see him being hyper in ATCY, he gived more calm chill cool vibe. i don't mean him as calm person tho, but even his teasing is just like cool type way , all in all the character just dont leave a long lasting impression to me. like, i acknowledge him as a good guy but he is just like another good ml character in kdrama where it is easily forgettable.
i just recently finish doona and i enjoy wonjun but he is an example of a forgettable good character, his role in temperature of love on the other hand is an example of impactful good character and that's how i felt about nam siheon, forgettable and basic but him as seo woojin is very impactful!!!

i did not meant for him to act exactly like that but nam siheon is much much calmer, i expect smth like his role in still 17 but not in overreact way altho i personally love his potrayal in still 17 which shows the naivety of his character

This. I think I would like it more if he read and try to understand the source material? Because at least we can see glimpse of the character we love from source material imo if he had at least see it through the end. I totally get his reason but I couldn't say I agree.
I was sad when I saw him casted as LZW bc I just couldn't see it in him, but after some time I was excited and I had faith in him bc he played a bubbly loud character in 30 but 17, but I truly do not like his intepretation as LZW. Nothing wrong about his acting but there is nothing special to it and he make the character looks like a basic character and I don't want him to make dokja another basic guy.
I actually agree with all your points especially AHS I like him as an actor but personally I have never seen him…
i love his potrayal in Dr Romantic 2 and I havent gotten to the third season but I saw clips when he was trapped during earthquake and thought his acting was really good there. But the problem with him is I think he is really weak in potraying a character from source material (webtoon, novel, remake) that is why I can't see him as my Dokja.
I have finally process this, as an orv fan i genuinely think only nana and shin seungho fit their respective characters. chae soobin could prove me wrong, I'm not against her casting and neither do I against jung sung il casting.
The issue I had with jisoo is, she gonna play a high school character, she definitely doesn't look old but I was imagining someone with high school looks tbh. but if go yoonjung can pull it off so I'm hoping jisoo also can? to make her has that youth look...I'm not convinced but I'm hoping they can prove me wrong.
Lee minho, i like yoo joonghyuk and the trio but I don't pay attention to his character in detail so I'm not sure why people are against his casting. I have seen him in city hunter and imo he played that role well as cold cool action character and I do love that drama so anyone who watch city hunter and read orv is welcome to explain why they are against this casting. they seems to want lee soohyuk but acting wise, lee soohyuk fell short compared to lee minho imo.
Now the casting I dislike the most is ahn hyoseop. kim dokja is my second favourite character throughout my novel/manhwa read, so this hit me quite hard. I like AHS as an actor, but I don't like when he played adaptation characters. eg. business proposal, I dont like that drama and idc about the webtoon so idk about his potrayal there, but he played li ziwei in a time called you and while he is a good actor I just don't like his potrayal because i already had li ziwei to compare (can't help it and not to mention li ziwei is such a high standard and greg hsu just nail that role). now he gonna play kim dokja, the character I had read and love and I just don't think he can pull off this character. imo, he is a good actor when he is potraying original character but he will disappoint when he plays an existing character. I do wish for AHS to prove me wrong but that is what I wish during ATCY as well and he still disappoint me.
All in all, I wish this movie a success and for everyone to read ORV, it is such an amazing piece of media and you will definitely cry and kin kim dokja, the one and only reader.
i think he is the worst cast out of all 😠i just cant see him as dokja, granted that dokja is also my most favourite character and i kin him more than others so maybe i'm a bit more critical. i think he is a good actor but not when adaptation is involved.
There is multiple hint that they are still dating in secret
she actually said, jigeumeun niga piryeo eobso (i don't need you). i think she just trying to make herself strong but when he said he knew she crumble a bit bc she still love him and want to get back ig? that's why she ask him to beg.
i too always watch with eng subs but now that i discover my first language gives more accurate subs it's a bit frustrating that the eng subs gives different meaning
There is multiple hint that they are still dating in secret
wait, are you watching on netflix and is your first language english? if not, i do recommend watching on your first language for that part bc i just checked and it translate just like how i mentioned instead of leave me alone that was shown for english translation
There is multiple hint that they are still dating in secret
netflix subtitles is so bad imo i surely dk korean but there are some words that i know and i noticed they translated it differently that gives different meaning. in that confrontation from my very poor korean understanding, he said "i regret it. there is not one day that i dont regret it. so stop shaking me (making me waver), i beg you" geuman hendereo (?) gives the meaning as stop shaking me afaik so while to leave me alone can gives the same meaning but it's different, no?
but of course! i could be wrong bc im not proficient in korean at all, it is just not only this series but other netflix original where i noticed the words i knew were translate differently and it frustrate me.
I must say it’s surprisingly good!! I clearly had no expectations when I read the synopsis. But I am loving…
i had no expectation too at first but surprised that i really like it so i look up at the writer, and it is no surprise anymore that it is good. she always know how to write a good drama
off topic but would you please tell me some of the dramas where mc turned evil? I havent seen much dramas like…
lost of the shows i mentioned actually include anime, novel, movies but from what i could think of:
1) the innocent man - i think it already start with ml being quite a bad guy but we do see his good past self in flashback (i watched this long ago so i dont have much recollection whether it start from him being good or not)
2) king of pigs - i did not consider ml as bad but he became corrupted as the show goes on and all of them truly lead a sad life
3) the bad kids (cdrama) - this is an amazing thriller show with only 12 episodes. it is underrated internationally but it was very well received in china, it has 8.8 rating on douban which is a hard feat bc chinese watchers tend to be more harsh on their own drama. lots of popular cdrama receive 6-7 on average so i really do recommend this one.
havent start watching but if jcw turn evil that would be so predictable im sorry maybe i watch too much show where mc became villain so i actually wish he keep on good side. or if she went back to her first love, can we have show where in a trope where first love came in, an established couple stay strong till the end, pls?
i love cheongah but i really dont like that she did not come and give the ticket to him instead. i know she is doing it for him since sekyeong is going abroad soon, but sk is very hopeful that she would come it make me sad, bc i really adore their cute friendship. this also ofc make sk got even mad at yichan and i wish yichan insist of showing her the ticket. i hate this kind of misunderstanding
