Ive already tried looking at it from her supposedly “brilliant” detective brains perspective. First off, the ML was shot into the lake. Before that he was even poisoned and not able to speak. That kind injury wouldve been hard to recover from (arrow wound through and through, poisoning and possible asphyxiation and collapsed lungs from drowning) and would take a long time to heal even with proper medication. With him on the run, id suspect proper medication is a privelege that he could hardly afford. Second, by the time he recovered, he wouldve had to burrow deep underground with that full scale manhunt going on and it would have been hard to get close to FL who should be at the centre of it. Third, he might not want to implicate her yet before knowing details of the criminal, as to prevent her from being targeted and him not knowing how to counter attack. Forth, without ample information of Yesha, which is so because Yesha went dormant for 3 years, there is basically no way of moving forward. By this time, he wouldve have realized how deeply FL hated and blamed him for her dad’s death, so without evidence, it wouldve been impossble for him to explain and her to listen with reason.

Based on how well FL knew ML, and how strong their bond had been, these are the things that she shouldve deliberated and analyzed regardless how stupidly cocky and reckless ML had been before this incident, considering she had numerous avenues at her disposal compared to the restriction on ML’s part being the fugitive that he is. She freaking grew up with him and became his wife fgs. She shouldve known how he would think as a desperate detective-turned-fugitive. So yeah anger and grudge might have clouded her judgment shortly after the incident, this is totally acceptable, but if 3 years have passed and she never got her analytical thinking straightened out, then yeah, the FL turned out to be dumb with pea-sized brain after all, and apparently im not the only one who thinks her so, based on other reviews. This is not me hating Julia cuz ive never seen her before to hate her as an actress or me loving WXY cuz i have neutral opinion of him, the only thing ive seen him in was the double and he was just okay there. This is me strictly speaking about the written characters and not the cast.

At this point there is no amount of explanation you can say to convince me to pick this up again because I cant stand stupid, gullible FL and I dont like WXY enough to go through the annoyance and anger of watching FL’s unreasonable antics. Hopefully it stays faithful to the novel then. I hate when adaptations opt for a sad or open ending when the novel had a completely different ending, just so people talk about it.

Yea i heard he doesnt do kissing scene to stay faithful to his wife. Adorably loyal is an admirable trait so i got no problem with that 😆

This is off topic but i saw your review of Legend of Shen Li and you said the novel’s ending had them blessed with 3 kids. Cant find comment section on your review so am asking here. Where did u read that version? I read the novel translation twice on different platforms but both had ending like the adaptation. Mind sharing the link where you read it from (i hope its a translation)?

When i was attacked by those rabids, i decided to look at other reviews. Turned out all of those who dropped this show did it due to the FL and the weak storyline. So I am actually not the odd one out. Gosh. These people act as if their life depended on good reviews and rating of their favourite shows. So childish.

Lol why would i be a mysogynist when i am a woman myself and had served in the navy alongside men, took command over them and more? 🤣 that aside, even my fav shows mainly have strong brilliant FL, some with stupid worthless ML but i dont care cuz it’s the FL that usually attracts me to a drama. Btw i think you gonna love Ah Mai Joins the Army cuz it doesnt have the stupidly in love FL as shown on screen - Really hated how she easily fell in love with Shang Yizhi on screen. But wrt the adaptation, i am in love with Zhang Tian an’s portrayal of Ah Mai. I usually am not fond of cross dressing theme shows, cuz the actress usually did it really badly (too feminine looking and not convincing enough, most dont bind their chests 🙄). But Zhang TianAn’s A Mai really looked rough like a boy from the slum. Totally in love with her character there. ❤️ had she been taller she wouldnt have stuck out too much. The novel’s ah Mai was supposed to be 1.7m tall, so it was easier for her to really blend in with the rest of the troops. Honestly had they they not butchered her character by making her fall in love with Shang, i wouldve rated the adaptation much higher.

Btw what is the drama title for the “ I became the cannon fodder who died early, and I angrily married the villain" novel that u mentioned before? Since the FL is so capable, i might give it a shot.

Anyway for fighting for love and kill me love me, the novel is better than the adaptation (you can read my reviews there). For example in KMLM the FL never got defeated by the ML, she was actually trying to run away from him. And she never actually cooperated with ML to fight off the crown prince, in the novel the palace power struggle was in the background and never elaborated thoroughly.many parts in KMLM adaptation was expanded and added to lengthen the episodes i guess. The novel only had 24 chapters and theyre only about the interactions between ML and FL outside the palace. The ending was better in the novel too whereas the adaptation decided to make it a sad ending instead of a happy one like in the novel.
