It was rare to see Elder Romance on short drama

I watched this on Dramabox back then and it was rare to have elder romance drama since most of people was quite uncomfortable with this theme (I have watched countless drama with same theme on J Drama and there is nothing wrong to get elder romance, I quite like J-Drama Second Chance to Last Love for one example).

It was actually decent for short drama level and the plot was generic rich man with poor woman together for fake marriage. But the kissing scene was quite safe and the couple has chemistry which is quite better to look. It feels this drama was like test water for this genre.

Only recommended if you can tolerate elder romance.

Relationship development was too slow but the ending was like a flash

I've binged watching Zhang Jinyi drama again since her recent drama with Li Zhuoyang make me cheek crammed for too much smiling and search the drama that i haven't watch and i never realized Huang Youtian has collaborated with her (I rarely check his drama since he is more into ancient than modern) and i was happy to check this drama. Both of actor have CP vibe and i hope they can collaborate on modern drama.

Let's recap this drama: they have 97 episodes: 1 episode on the past life, 3 episodes on revenge, 3 episodes on political intrigue. FL luring ML for 90 episodes. Although the plot is thin and the relationship development was too slow, it's surprisingly not boring at all. Just watching gorgeous leads in love is very satisfying. FL is quite busy, responsible for "fishing," political intrigue, and revenge, while ML is very idle, only responsible for being flirted with. From initially being stubborn but soft-hearted, he eventually can't wait for the FL to give him a title. Although the entire series is relatively clean (passionate scenes only exist in the ML's mind).

The cons is the costume was not nice and ML hairdo was bizzarre at the 10 episodes and the political intrigue was too simple. The ending was like flash since they packed the ending in 3 episodes.

If you're looking for revenge or political intrigue, this drama might disappoint you. But if you want to see a handsome man and beautiful woman having a sweet romance, then don't hesitate to watch it—you won't be disappointed.

The best version for that year

I watched Wang Xiao Yi version first two years ago on the same day on 2024. Both drama are watchable and still decent to watch but this drama give more point because FL character was so stunning when she reborn, less verbal sparring-more action and plot was on right track. Although Min Jie isn't particularly stunning at first glance, his acting is quite decent; the tear he shed during the kiss when they confirmed their feelings was just right. The chemistry between them was underrated. It was my secret CP back then. This is my favorite version of the story.

This version is really well done for that year. The cool and domineering FL is incredibly powerful. True revenge isn't about killing him outright, but about slowly tormenting him. It's satisfying to see her take revenge on the scumbag. The romance between ML and FL is so sweet; FL always takes the initiative.

Even Zhang Jinyi couldn't save this drama

I watched this because of Zhang Jinyi sake only and the cast point solely for her but her voice actor has soul and i prefer her original voice. I will make statement: Xie Hongxin can't act despite his longer experience than most of short drama actor i know, he needs biggest improvement since most of all his show with many different kind of FL was always carried by actress; he appears wooden and dull in this drama, although the kissing scenes are technically skillful and intense. The chemistry in this drama was completely off.

The plot cannot aim lofty theme, simple rebirth premise is sufficient.. Even after the ML and FL clear up their misunderstandings and unite in their resistance, they are clearly outmatched, with the SML and SFLs constantly causing trouble. ML and FL know the plot's development but lack strategy and fail to prepare defenses beforehand; if it weren't for the SFL's betrayal, they would likely have died at the Crown Prince's hands. Therefore, the drama's satisfying moments of punishing the villains are lacking; watching the ML and FL always feels powerless, fearing defeat. The part where they confessed their feelings and then each tried to call off the engagement was really unnecessary and felt so weak.

The only good thing is Zhang Jinyi carried the entire drama even though its not enough. Avoid at cost.

The most unexpected comedy

I watched this because of Zhao Huinan and never familiar with Gao Yang works. Both of the actor are delivers their role and i never expected both can do comedy,

It's hilarious and worth the time to watch. The storyline is different from other shows. It's very funny and i noticed ML eye bag was growing BIG as the story goes because FL was stressing him out. I love that for he. The combination between FL's fierce and domineering FL combined with the ML's arrogant and aloof demeanor is a perfect match for fire energy person.

The ending was quite unclear and i haven't found the season 2. Worth to watch.

Main Problem: No sparks between WHZ and HCY and Sloppy Production

I watched this on last year because of Wang Hao Zhen and the premises was very promising at first but it turns out to be my biggest disappointment from him.

The plot lacks twists and turns, as does the romance, making it overall quite uninteresting. The acting itself isn't the main problem; Wang Hao Zhen and Hou Cheng Yue still delivers the role but their acting weakness was obviously shown as chemistry almost non-existent and there is no sparks between them. The plot execution was the main problem and the production team were lack from the way they editing the drama.

There are too many close-up shots, and the lack of filters and beauty effects exposes the actors' flaws in appearance. Every screenshot is unflattering; to exaggerate, this series is truly a disgrace to the leads reputations. Even the most handsome men and beautiful women can't withstand such close-ups.

The color tone is also poor, the camerawork is terrible, and there are many meaningless long takes that leave viewers confused. The kissing scenes are also full of close-ups, with no background music, resulting in neither aesthetic appeal nor any atmosphere.

I never rate Wang Hao Zhen drama lower than this .Even two of his dropped drama was better than this, ugh.

Quite decent History Fantasy drama

I watched this because both of leads are my favorite but the romance in this drama seems weak but i quite enjoy historical drama so i can tolerate this drama (I quite like 1930-1950 history so i eager to watch this).

FL accidentally travels back to 1936 Paris, where she meets ML, a seemingly calculating man with a deep sense of patriotism. Together, they embark on a legendary journey across time. From initial mutual suspicion, they gradually become partners, jointly protecting cultural relics and supporting the anti-Japanese war amidst the turmoil of the era. Ultimately, they go their separate ways for the greater good of their country.

Their romance develops in a relatively peaceful setting, with some plot points involving struggles for national survival added as turning points. FL is a time traveler, so she's very determined about the future, and her change of heart towards ML is based on her understanding of the future, making good use of her expertise. The screenwriter is quite clever with this. Chen Fang Tong's crying scenes and Wang Hao Zhen's deep affection are both very moving and this is one of the greatest selling point in this drama.

ML isn't some unrealistic hero; he's an ordinary person who uses his wisdom to reclaim national treasures. The story of ML and FL going from enemies to partners is neither melodramatic nor mindless; the subject matter is positive. Although the plot is largely predictable, it's still a good work.

Recommended to watch for hisotry fantasy enjoyer.

One of the best Zhang Jinyi-Lu Huanyu dramas.

I watched this last year but i only found out the page and rewatch it when i missed Zhang Jinyi-Lu Huanyu combo.

FL is quite pretty, and her character is good—she gets revenge on the spot and hasn't suffered any major injustices. TML hasn't done anything too outrageous either. There's a misunderstanding about a "white moonlight" character, but it's within my acceptable range. The production team seems to be relatively well-funded for a short drama, which explains why so many people watch it; it's really quite good. The kissing scene was good and the comedy was quite on point, the best part when ML put a ring into FL middle finger and she only show middle finger to everyone.

Recommended to watch.

Beside Motorcycle scene, this drama was awful.

I watched this because i like Wang Kaimu and Ma Lejie and almost their drama have one problem, they tend to have great in first half but sometime plot was deteriorate on the latter part with abrupt ending.

The story isn't particularly original; the main attraction is Wang Kaimu and Ma Lejie. This third collaboration is highly anticipated, but unfortunately, they didn't choose a good script. The makeup and styling of the two leads in the drama are great; Wang Kaimu's motorcycle outfit and leather jacket look are especially handsome. Every scene where theML takes the FL on a motorcycle ride is incredibly beautiful and cool. The acting and chemistry between Ma Le Jie and Wang Kaimu was okay to watch but amnesia plot was too boring and the editing feels disjointed so i ended up fast forwarding the drama.

Fl's character was being nerfed in here

I watched this drama after watching another adaptation with Zhang Jinyi and Yi Hang but this drama was quite waste for Zhi Chun He skills. Her styling was quite good but the plot was flat and weak.

No need to nerf FL character into love stuck person. FL is portrayed as weak, the plot is flat. I just sigh when knows the FL's magic was about to fail, I knew I was doomed. Sure enough, she needed a kiss from ML to restore her magic power.

The story feels like a mere formality, lacking depth. The ending, with the FL being kidnapped and the ML taking the fall, feels forced.

The biggest lack was Gang Wang Xing acting (he suits modern drama more than ancient) and the romance felt so abrupt that I couldn't connect with the plot at all. There is no chemistry between the leads.

Only to hardcore fans.

It still too raw to be drama

I watched this because of Zhang Jinyi and i quite expected reverse harem but the pacing was to fast and messy especially in the middle of drama the scene was too fast and plot was kind of messy. The premises was actually good about FL who transmigrated into harem and get liking from four previous harem that being humiliated by her. The harem MLs was quite not memorable even the Chaplin assassin and don't expected kiss or romance scene. The system was practically useless. If the script could be polished and the character could be more developed it would be better.

Avoid this at cost.

Quite depressing drama

I watched this on last year when i want to search Wang Ziyi works and it was one of her decent dramas. I only found out Li Yin as ML even i don't watch his previous work, i think he nailed the character especially when he was on hospital.

This drama has depressing vibe and the deserved end since there is no one in here was good person even FL had her own agenda to stay with ML, she never in love with ML since ML took her former lover heart and she only love his heart (literal meaning). The pace was quite fast and packed.

ML never took FL as her priority due his pride and only choose her when SFL are leaving him. I think ML really love SFL even she did him wrong. He is quite inconsistent he angry when FL refused to divorce but when FL agree to divorce him since SFL was betrayed him he still got angry. His ending was quite deserved.

Recommended if you want to get depressing vibe.
