don't like Bas being drawn into this mess. These collateral spillovers need to stop already. Can you really love someone one week, and then shift so quickly! Please don't do this.
look at Teh's face when Oh saying that to Bas. and why is he doing right in front of Teh, is that a signal to Teh too that there is no going back!
Teh's expression is a masterpiece of acting, gosh, how can you make it so realistic. Its like someone plucked the heart out of him.
p.s. The inference in this comment seems to be incorrect. Please see bbrader's reply.
Perfect interpretation! Thank you! God there is so much to unpack!
SO what I got based on what you said about control: Teh says he likes the support or to depend on, but Aew says that if you depend you are being controlled, so "let it go, don't control, give up the support".
Its so sweet the way Kurosawa is looking at Adachi when he encourages Rokkaku. He is moved by Adachi's kindness but also concerned about Adachi's low self-esteem. He really has fallen hard for Adachi.
and the preview, my current theory is this: "The decision you make will be the one that will take what you’ve always dreamed for away from you."
Teh screws up the exam and doesn't get admission. Remember him completely distraught during the Chinese test. But Oh passes the exam and gets admitted. Lost everything, Teh finally comes to term with his feelings for Aew and his sexuality. He apologizes to Oh and wants to get back together, but Oh is just too hurt and decides to move on. Although Teh is disappointed, he acknowledges the hurt he has caused to Oh and to Tarn.
He is not confused anymore. The final clarity and acceptance of self ends all his doubts and fills him with confidence and determination. He decides not to give up on any of his dreams. He resolves to work even harder and get readmission next year and get Oh back.
Please comment on what you think about this ending. This also opens the door for a second season!

Thanks..:). I thought the point about Teh's behavior needs to be made. Everyone is carefully treading around it. It is no measure of empathy to be accommodative of someone's hurtful behavior. To understand it is different from denying it or criticizing it. Even the writers are too accommodative, the way Tarn says," I don't care you are hurting me, but you are hurting yourself." Why doesn't it matter that she is getting hurt. In that scene with the hibiscus coloring, she leans back extending her shoulders, with so much expectation and desire only to be painfully disappointed.
About the unpacking, there is still left...lol. In the scene, where they are floating on the water, Teh says "it is so nice this way, as if someone is holding me" but Oh says, " but you have to constantly hold your breath this way." Still not clear about this one.
My first impression when I saw Aew trying the bra was how magnificent, as if a fiery red phoenix has finally spread its wings; but then after he quickly deleted the post and broke down , I thought he did it to make himself acceptable to Teh. On rethinking, (I can't stop keep thinking about all of it...lol) I feel the first interpretation was correct. There is always this conflict, the conflict between the false self-image moulded by heteronormative society and the true-self. On the beach, when Teh denies him, he repeatedly asks, "What did I do wrong, why can't I be myself?". Then he asks his parents whether they are proud of him. After their affirmation, he finally found the courage to assert a little more of his true self but then the image struck back.
The conflict between the image and the self is even more striking in case of Teh. Teh's false self-image is much more solidified due to the constant comparison with his 'perfect' brother. The true self loves Aew and tries to assert itself, but the image is threatened and brutal in its suppression of the self. The conflict between self and image is the conflict of 'coming out to oneself' that every gay man goes through. The self is too strong in its assertion, so the image can't fully suppress it. So, it tries to 'contain' the relationship with Oh 'in the veil of friendship'. As long as the label of friendship is there, any level of intimacy is fine ; be it an embrace behind the stairs or an underwater tryst. But Aew takes that option off the table. The conflict magnifies to an unbearable crescendo, ultimately leaving Teh with a tattered and ripped self-image, and a broken relationship with Oh.
The brutality of the image is striking. In this episode, the brutality spills over from oneself to others; repeatedly to Aew and to Tarn. It was almost like Teh travelled back to his childhood in his repeated hurtful treatment of Aew.
Every gay man is not necessarily immune to the beauty of a woman. But that is not important, as that is not the predominant nature of sexual attraction( and that does not make them bisexual either). However, during the conflict of coming out, the image takes every little evidence in favor of itself and magnifies it hundredfold to prove to the self that he is actually not gay. "If you were gay, why were you curious about breasts?". This is the confusion of Teh about breasts.

this looks more like the 4th episode,
Also, I just realized Teh has still not lost everything. He still has the possibility of admission. He needs to lose everything for the image to die.
