I saw the property owner "twist" coming from the moment this said owner did not come right away...specially when THAT character was also on a trip. ^^'
Also, I like that he is falling for her first/they are falling for each other at the same time. Tired of when they make the female lead fall for the male lead first and then chase him for many episodes while he treats her coldly the whole time until suddenly he doesn't.
And U Ju is so cute. I am watching mostly for him. When a drama has a little kit or a dog/cat as part of the cast it just makes it so much more enjoyable.
these are my theories/thoughts for the parts or scenes that were left confusing to u (and to me, lols) (i quoted…
Your theories are more or less what I think too but they should have still taken the time to explain some of the things instead of letting us guess. The ending was so rushed. I wish they had wrapped up the drama more neatly.
How can you fairly critique the entire show when you didn't even actually watch it? Skimming through a series…
I still spent quite a few hours watching so it is not like I skipped entire episodes when I say I skimmed through it. I watched all episodes, just found myself skipping a lot of scenes (mostly business and the affair scenes).
I know the drama was intended to be like this, I never said it was not well executed in what intended to do. But it was not entertaining to watch and when I watch a drama that is not entertaining me, the least I expect is to take some kind of lesson from it or at least have one character development that makes me feel like it was worth watching.
To break it down, the drama has 3 main genres: Business, Romance, Life
I found the business boring, the romance was barelly there and the life part was not relatable to me because I am not and do not surround myself with people that act in the way these characters act.
So, it is not that this is a bad drama or that the director is a bad director, just that this type of drama is not to my taste because I did not take anything positive from it.
Yes, I agree. I’m extremely confused on how he remembered their love in 1995 yet he watched her grow up….so…
The actors have really good chemistry and did a great job. They have previously worked together and also did well so I am not surprised they did a good job here too. Sadly the script was not great.
People calling this a masterpiece and whatever and saying this is realistic...I mean, Idk what kind of people you are hanging out with but I was not able to like any of the main characters. From being unfaithful, to lacking self-respect, to doing things that go against what they believe in, to just being completely boring people...you got all of it here.
The drama also portrayed men and women in a way I did not like. Men kept being on top and doing whatever they wanted while women were treated as tools, had no self-respect or just had to work extra hard to accomplish anything. I guess that part was realistic, sadly.
Anyway, there are a bunch of characters I could not care less about, the plot is boring, there is barelly any romance (unless you count the affair as romance, I don't). I skimmed through it and still felt it was a waste of time. The dramas by this director have pretty low ratings and I did not like any of them so from now on I will just stay away from any drama he directs.
so with knowledge of the future wouldn’t it have been considered grooming had they gotten together? they might’ve…
Yes if he was emotionally available for her but as she said in one episode, he only provided financial support and seemed to keep a distance as much as possible...to the point she grew to hate him because he never took care of her in a way that she was able to recognize and appreciate and never bothered to resolve any misunderstandings.
For it to be grooming he would have to have spent a lot of time with her, being nice to her and showering her with gifts to make her like him, which he didn't. He kept his distance as much as possible while also protecting her from the shadows.
Definition of grooming: "Grooming is when a person builds a relationship with a child, young person or an adult who's at risk so they can abuse them and manipulate them into doing things."
So yeah, even if they ended up together, it would not be considered grooming, although their relationship could be seen as a little iffy.
Not bad for a short drama but they forgot to connect the loose ends. Even for time travel there needs to be some logic.
The way she went to the past and then came back to the future were completely disconnected from each other and not properly explained. The ending was also rushed and made me feel like I wasted my time watching this.
Connecting loose ends and taking time to wrap up a drama is something that can really impact how the people watching feel about the drama as a whole.
WOW, I think the ML is as nice as he can be after going through all that. The FL at least came into the story as an adult and knowing the plot, he was just a kid and had no idea what was going on and just had to go through all that while waiting for someone he was not even sure would show up...it also took many years. Having such a dark past, no wonder he decided to hide the truth from the FL, he is probably scared she will lose all the trust and affection she has for him.
The son part gets me confused. So he is actually his son from after he transmitigated? Does that mean he had a romance with someone else in the past or was he like drugged or something? And who is the mother? Does not seem like she is in the picture anymore.
Usually people fell more in love with second couples and love them even more than first couple but here the first…
Usually? I have watched thousands of dramas over the span of 16 years and I can count on my hands the amount of times I liked any of the secondary couples over the main couple. ^^'
zero logic is a perfect description of this drama . i didn’t love it, but didn’t dislike it either 😁
Completely agree but it also never promised us that. From episode 1 I could tell what kind of drama it was. It promised chemistry and it delivered on that so...we can only blame ourselves from having expectations for a short drama. Even regular length dramas these days are often disappointing. Good short dramas are even rarer.
Man, the last bunch of episodes was unnecessarily heavy and angsty for no apparent reason? FL really got annoyingly…
Yeah, I think the writers really dropped the ball for the last 10 episodes or so. But I guess we should not have had high expectations from a short drama. It delivered what it promised from episode 1 - sizzling chemistry between the main leads. It did not promise us anything else. ^^'
1 - How did this even pass China's censorship? This short drama dared to go to places not even those vertical 2 mins per episode dramas have dared to go. The ML was eating her up...literally. If anything the chemistry on this one is sizzling.
2 - Am I the only one that felt the ending song was familiar? It gave Pretty Little Liars "Secret" vibes.
3 - I was not expecting a masterpiece from a short drama but the writing became really weak for the last 10 episodes or so. While I barely felt like skipping any scenes up until that point, I just started to become bored around ep 30. Maybe they should have kept it shorter to avoid adding subplots they did not know how to handle.
Overall, for a short drama, it was not bad BUT do not expect a strong plot or anything. There are short dramas with better plots, this one stands out more for the original plot (although not a very well written one) and for the chemistry and HUGE amount of kisses/skinship. If that is enough for you, you will probably enjoy this.
I do not know how close the plot follows the regular length drama that is coming out tomorrow so I will wait to watch this until later as I am afraid it might spoil the fun of watching the other version.
No matter how ready you think you are for the hearbreak because you read the synopsis or even watched the original version...you are not ready. I'm writing this while wiping tears and snot.
I have watched all sorts of tragic dramas and movies so I should be used to it by now but it still gets me everytime. T T
Depends. Worth it as in is the story well written or as in you will feel glad you watched it by the end? Because I can tell you you will feel empty on the inside when you are done.
If I was to sum up this drama without giving spoilers, this is a drama that shows how the bad decisions of a few bad people brings about the death and pain of a lot more good people and an investigation that reveals the truth but at a cost that we as the audience will find to be too high.
I personally would not re-watch it and not sure I would recommend it. This drama is like a punch on the stomach from real life and usually that is not what I am looking for when watching a drama.
Hope my comment helps you make a decision and if you end up deciding to watch it, at least you will be mentally ready for what is coming your way.
