I have seen the actor playing the ML in other dramas and this was probably his best performance, unfortunately I cannot say the same for the FL or anyone else really.

Even the best actress could not have done much better since the character is badly written but the actress playing the FL could have done better at portraying the role even if it was not a great one.

The plot, acting (aside from the actor playing the ML) and ending make this drama one that you can safely skip if you do not have a lot of time on your hands and have to be selective.

I would not call it a big plot-twist, more like a big disappointment if they do not go for a different ending. This is a character that was on screen like twice for the entire drama. Hope they give us a different ending from the original.

Also, I have not watched the originial but I think the wife of the detective is a bit too old to have been Suhos ex. Her and the detective seem to be maybe 10 years older than everyone else, maybe like in their 40s while the others are in their 30s.

I am not sure they are going for the same ending as the original. I have feeling they are trying to do something a bit different, tho I have not watched the Japanese version so I could be wrong.

Maybe they showed it here to throw off people that have watched the original so they would think it will be her in this version too but I have a feeling they are going for a different ending. I did not watch the Japanese version but with what they have shown so far, if they make her the culprit it will be disappointing.

I don't think the bar owner had found out he was the same person so she was probably wondering how common the allergy was that both the FL's first boyfriend and now this client had the same allergy.

The friend acting like he did not know about the allergy did not convince anyone. He knows EVERYTHING about the FL and the people around her and was friends with or close enough to every one of her boyfriends.

The bar owner herself is a bit sus too. We do not know much about her but know the FL always runs to her when things get hard and tells her everything.

I hava to say this part, unfortunately, was quite realistic.

I follow several true crime cases and the amount of cases where the police set their eyes on one person and just charge forward even when there is evidence saying otherwise, ugh, it gets on my nerves.

Some of the consequences of these cases have been stuff like:
- innocent people staying in jail for 20+ years;
- family members being victimized a second time by both the police and the public opinion;
- victims not being saved in time when they were still alive for quite some time or their body being recovered a lot later than it needed to be (when it is recovered at all);
- killers getting away for years resulting in other victims or having the chance to off themselves without being brought to justice or giving the family of the victim closure.

And I could go on. Bad police work makes our blood boil in dramas so just imagine people who have to suffer the consequences in real life.

The wife of the main detective definitely looked sus when was looking around too much at the board to find out how much the police had figured out. Maybe it was just out of curiosity but I found it weird. The main detective himself also gives me a weird feeling.

So many people in this drama look suspicious. The writers are trying really hard to distract us from the real killer. ^^'

I agree with you about Eun Hyuk's motives falling short but the CEO's motives would fall even shorter if you think about it...and it would also be lame for it to be her.

At this point the person behind it either is possessive of the FL or really hates her and wants her to go down for all the murders.

I would gladly welcome a plot-twist too, like the FL being the mastermind behind it all.

I love that I found someone else like me. I also like to leave reviews/comments full of crazy analogies.

I now know this is something I wouldn't dare watch during my lunch break (eating while watching a dumpster fire seems like a health hazard) but maybe something to watch late at night before going to sleep.

Same. The first episode did not wow me but I pushed through it and it has gotten better. Now I watch new episodes as soon as they air. ^^'

There is also the other side, the haters that flock to dramas with actors they love to hate and give it a rating of 1 just to lower the rating as if that would have any impact in the life of that actor/actress.

I used to trust MDL ratings but it has been some years since ratings stopped being accurate. There are average dramas with high ratings because of the cast and great dramas with average ratings because the cast is mostly made of unknown actors.

The best way to find out if a drama is worth watching is to go through a few comments and see what people are saying. There is the risk of reading a huge spoiler if the drama has already finished airing but it is a risk I am willing to take since I usually add them to my list pretty early on and no one knows how it ends yet. It is also very easy to identify the comments that are from someone who is actually watching it and judging it for what it is and the ones from fans/haters (these are usually more about the actors rather than the plot and sound extremely biased when you read them).

I myself like to leave a comment after finishing most dramas I watch so it can help someone else make an informed decision as to if that drama is worth watching or not.

He basically kidnapped her, she never stayed with him out of her own free will. Since she never gave him her consent, they were not really a couple. It was all one-sided.

Yup. Yu Qian Qian and Qi Min cannot be considered a couple so yes, you are right, the strategist and the princess are the REAL second couple of this drama.

Sure the story around them was interesting but they were not a couple so there was no need to show so many scenes of them, they were also repetitive, it was basically either him forcing himself on her or threatening her. I found their storyline intriguing like you said and think it added to the drama overall quality but I wish they had a bit less screen time, specially if it meant reducing the main leads screen time.

The main leads had a lot of chemistry as well, unfortunately a lot of their steamier scenes were cut while for some reason they were allowed to air when it came down to Yu Qian Qian and Qi Min's scenes. You can find some of those cut scenes on social media. One of them was from ep 38, when they were in bed.

Totally agree with you. They were never meant to be considered a couple. Even in the post-credits the writers make it clear that they were never supposed to be together, even if there was a next life. He was an obsessive man and she was a woman just trying to survive and keep the people she loved safe, even if that meant being intimate with him or pretending to care about him like he wanted.

My only complaint is that they got too much screen time. I would rather have that time being spent on showing the main leads' wedding and kids (actually showing the kids, not just mentioning them like they were an afterthought).

I really liked this one as a whole, one of the best Chinese dramas I have watched in a while. I would have given it a higher rating if it was not for the last few episodes.

They showed so many scenes and characters that were not that important, even showed us a "what if" in the post-credits but did not bother to show us their wedding (even tho the ML spent a big chunk of the drama promising her a proper one) nor show us their kids (only mentioning them right before the ending like it was just an afterthought).

If they did not reserve so much screen time for Yu Qian Qian and Qi Min (why are they even listed as supporting characters when they got almost as much screen time as the main leads?), maybe there would have been more time to show us what we REALLY wanted to watch.

I hate when I love a drama so much and then the last episodes are disappointing because now I do not leave this drama feeling the way I wanted. I wanted to be so satisfied with the ending and empty on the inside that no other drama would be able to fill this emptiness for a while. Unfortunately, that did not happen. T T

There were several things about the way things were wrapped up that I did not agree with or thought could have been done better but listing them all would take a while and would only make me feel even more disappointed than I already am and I want to remeber this one in a good light so I will stop here.

This drama is so good that although all episodes have been out in some sites for a few days, there are still no reviews or people leaving comments about how it ends because we refuse to watch this with auto-generated subs and ruin the experience.

A few days ago I thought I could binge-watch the rest of the episodes but once I got to episode 34 I realised the subs were bad and just could not continue. I just watched episode 34 and 35 today and will wait for the rest of the episodes to be released so I can watch with decent subs. I can't believe we are so close to the end. It has been a while since I watched a drama that I liked so much. T T

Ok, I think I know who you are talking about now. I will pay more attention to him from now on.

Sometimes these characters that stay more in the background turn out to play bigger roles than the ones that are in the spotlight. So it is possible his character is more important than we would initially think.

If the revenge is satisfying and the main leads are always or almost always one step ahead, I might give it a try.
