So...I guess episode 9 did not happen. I have not started watching yet but from reading the comments decided to…
From the little I watched of ep 9 before even reaching the kiss scene I could tell the ML was a sleazeball and would eventually cheat. His behaviour was not acceptable for a married man.
Boring. The cases were not as interesting as season 1, the romance was barely there and there was no development to show since they are already married at this point (and they had 0 chemistry as a couple). The ML character also changed too much, if it was not for the same actor playing him you would not even be able to tell he is playing the same character. Not sure if this was a script problem or if the actor forgot how he played the character in the first season.
There are so many dramas out there that really need a second season and they make one for a drama that was ok having just one.
Don't post rumours. This show doesn't have cheating and only consist a slow burn romance between the Main leads.…
So...I guess episode 9 did not happen. I have not started watching yet but from reading the comments decided to check out ep 9 specifically and Idk what is your definition of cheating but the ML definitely cheated. We see him kiss another woman very clearly so you cannot call it a misunderstanding or the FL seeing something out of context.
Clearly im d only one annoyed by ep 20 .... we got 2 eps of dem together? Wasnt the end of the millennium supposed…
I think the writers were lazy. They just decided to forget how everything was set up and did not want to explain anything. It is what makes a drama that could have been great just good.
I liked it but I did not love it. I liked their romance and interactions but also feel like the setup for their romance needed more work. The way she went inside the novel and how they decided to wrap things up felt a bit lazy. Even fantasy dramas need some sort of logic in how things work. You cannot just leave loose ends or not properly explain how and why something happens. The way it started and then how it ended also did not tie as neatly as I had expected.
Don't get me wrong, it was a good drama, I liked it but for it to deserve a super high rating like a 9 or even a 10 the writers would need to put more effort into the initial setup and ending.
There are short dramas that are a lot worse and have better ratings. Yes, the ending might not be what people expected but was realistic. The ML was basically the villain from any other drama, but because he is the ML people seem to think that alone makes him have the right to a happy romantic ending with the FL.
Yes, he had some bad stuff happening to him, but so did a lot of serial killers and child rapists and other criminals, that does not change the fact that he ruined the FL's life and caused a lot of other people pain. Like her sister said, he was selfish to the point that because he was in pain, everyone around him should be crying with him. The ending was very appropriate in my opinion.
With that said, would I recommend this? No. Do I think it was great? Also no. Would I re-watch it? Definitely not. But it is still better than some other short dramas that have even worse writing, worse acting, worse overall production value and somehow have a better rating. I guess people would rather see the FL in an extremely toxic relationship with a criminal rather than getting her life back on track and having freedom.
No wonder so many women are in toxic relationships. They think they can change them. No girl, you can't. At best you will find yourself getting beaten up and humilliated everyday and at worst you will end up dead. Don't you watch the news? Toxic relationships in real life are nothing like in dramas, they are worst.
Idk why they even chose this actress for the role of the FL. I could overlook the fact that her looks are nowhere near the same level as the ML if she was a good actress...but her acting is bad so she does not have the talent nor the visuals...I am guessing connections got her this role.
The drama itself also seems cheap, dropped it after the first episode. There are better short dramas for me to be wasting time on this one.
This actor is so handsome, was introduced to him through My Journey to You! I hope he improves his acting and…
I just watched him in a lead role that is not a short drama - Eternal Love of the Fox The drama is a bit silly but he looks stunning and it is a regular length drama. Hopefully he will keep getting more main lead roles.
what is it w/ the crown prince wardrobe, or rather lack there of?
Part of me thinks the actor is just really proud of his chest muscles and asked to only wear outfits that can showcase them...that or the director thought it was really essential for him to be showing his chest.
For a one time watch this is entertaining and the ML looks really good BUT it is way too silly for my taste. It tries to be funny way too often and although some of those times I actually found it to be funny, most of those moments were just silly to me.
The drama does not take itself seriously so I cannot take it either. If you like silly and have nothing else to watch, you will still probably enjoy this like I did but I cannot say this will be a drama that I will remember watching a few years later or that I will ever feel like rewatching.
Another problem I had is that is felt very superficial and not realistic enough, the investigation, the romance,…
I also understand your POV. I initially liked the romance but when I start to see the plot going in a direction I did not like I ended up putting the drama on hold until it finished airing and I guess that made me disconnect a bit from the main leads and their romance.
Everything you said makes sense but I feel that by the writers making those decisions, the plot as a whole did not feel so interesting. Them taking it to trial would have been a lot more interesting. It felt like we had a build up and then nothing. Her father's case also deserved some clarity. A lot of things were brushed over that I felt should have been addressed as they were initially brough into attention as if they were going to be important. Almost like the writers had some loose ideas here and there, brought them into the plot and then completely forgot about them. The writing did not feel tight.
For me, this is a decent drama if someone is mainly looking for romance and a deeper look into the idol industry. But I cannot recommend it for any of the other genres it attempted to include.
I mean, you've got a point but let's be honest.Did you actually expected a show called Idol I to be an excellent…
You are so right. It was our fault for expecting too much. lol
Not even the romance was that good. I just miss old kdramas. The past few years only a few dramas here and there I find to be actually good. Most of them feel average with weak plots and character development, when there is any at all. I mean, I do not mind a bare chested male lead once or twice but a drama has to offer more than nice visuals to keep me invested. I want good writing, good acting, good editing, good ost, the whole package.
I liked the first few episodes, I did not love them but they were interesting enough that I felt like I should…
Another problem I had is that is felt very superficial and not realistic enough, the investigation, the romance, everything.
They did not even bother to show the trial. I mean, the drama started and was supposed to be about the murder, knowing who the killer was so the ML could be proven innocent but then the whole thing just took a backseat.
Her father's case seemed to be less important than showing some random scenes with supporting characters. This was one of many loose ends or things that were not properly addressed.
And if you were the ML would you really go back to being an idol after going through all of that? If I was him, I would retire and live a normal life with the FL. He can still do music without being an idol.
And what was the deal with trying to make the ML's mother look less bad last minute?
There were so many small things wrong with this drama that just kept adding up and by the end of it I could no longer see it in the same light I did when I first started.
Overall, all I can say is this was very disappointing. It could have been so much better but the writing was weak in every way. It did not standout in any genre it tried to include. To even add the thriller and mistery genre to this seems underserving. The law genre, even with the female lead being a lawyer and the other guy a prosecutor...not much law was present. Of all of those genres, we can say it had romance...but it was not even that great in the romance department either.
I liked the first few episodes, I did not love them but they were interesting enough that I felt like I should keep watching. But then it happened. Nothing. They did not focus enough on the investigation or the FLs defense of the ML and did not make those few scenes interesting enough.
Then out of nowhere they decided to focus on the romance (and I am a romance drama girl) and it was meh? Then on the second last episode they remembered they needed a conclusion for the case, the killer is revealed, there are a lot of holes and the reveal is underwhelming to say the least. Then the last episode is just there, they had 1 episode left and nothing to do with it so they just spent an entire hour showing what the characters are up to after the time skip.
Exactly. People are saying this is a rip off of Dynamit Kiss as if 10 years ago there weren't a bunch of dramas…
RIP. So you read the webtoon, if they follow it yeah. I was kinda getting the vibe the pregnancy would take the entire drama but was hoping to see the baby, see them being parents. It is still possible since they sometimes change a few things.
Not a bad drama but I agree with some of the comments saying that not much happens while a lot is happening. Every episode almost feels like we are stuck in the same place when it comes to their relationship development.
I liked the drama for the psychological genre, the places they visit, the Japanese language and actor who I already knew but not really for the romance. I would not recommend if for the romance alone as if that is the main reason why you want to watch this you might be disappointed. There is romance, there are kisses but the romance between the main leads is kind of boring?
I also liked the first half better because I felt for the first half there was more plot development, things happening that made me want to keep watching. The second half I was watching while playing games on my phone and skipping scenes more often than I would like to admit.
So yeah, it is not as bad as some comments say but it is also not a drama I would rate a 10, not even an 8 and definitely not a drama I would rewatch.
I’m really enjoying this and glad I didn’t pay attention to the negative comments here. It has a nostalgic…
Exactly. People are saying this is a rip off of Dynamit Kiss as if 10 years ago there weren't a bunch of dramas just like these 2. I am guessing people saying this stuff just recently started watching kdramas.
I started back in 2010 and it feels very nostalgic to watch dramas like Dynamite Kiss and Positively Yours, yes, they are full of clichés but they are fun to watch. I hope they do not take too long with the first few months of her pregnancy. I want to see her belly grow and they better give us enough baby time. I hope we do not have to wait until the last episode for her to give birth.

But like Paulina said, I'm not complaining. ^^'
