It’s a unique drama, I will tell you that. A thai drama trying to be japanese while obviously being thai. lol Not complaining about that but clearly this concept was not executed well. This was one of those dramas I had to skip through the whole thing to reach the ending, which by the way made as much sense as the rest of the drama. Personally, I would not recommend this, but hey, we all like different things so dont let me stop you from giving it a try.
Honestly, this did not meet my expectations. Not even close. The cast was a great choice and the main leads had chemistry but that is about it. The pacing or the way the story was told was off, there were way too many characters that I could not care less about, a lot of random events happening without proper explanation, main leads not spending even near enough time together on screen, mostly in the first half of the drama, and the ending was not better than the rest of the drama.
I have watched so many chinese historical dramas and I have really liked most dramas where Zhao Lu Si played the female lead. But this one was quite disappointing. I thinks its biggest fault is the way the story was told. It might be because of the editing or just the way it was directed, but this one definitely did not impress me.
If you havent watched it yet, I would have to spoil it for you to explain properly.
Basically the male lead can do whatever he wants, but if the female lead tries to do the same he ruins it for her. And if he is not the one making the decisions he "does not let her in." That kind of attitude annoyed me and that is the most I can say without giving you spoilers.
It started well but I did not like the direction it took towards the end. It became too much about the schemes going on and the Emperor making rash decisions and people being tortured left and right and the ending...well, I dont even know how to rate this. I need a 2nd season. That is all I know.
I have to admit that I postponed watching this because I just didnt think I would like it that much. And although there were a few episodes that were frustrating to watch and the last episode felt like I was cutting onions for hours, the experience as a whole was good. I really appreciated how they did not make the female lead cry the entire time but only once in a while. The way she was portrayed made her seem really strong and selfless. Same with the male lead.
Of course this had its faults, but I think it was a pretty good drama.
Mistresses? Whose? I guess the man that was hitting her in the trailer? He is old enough to be her father so he is not only hitting a woman but a child, what a coward.
I have watched 5 episodes so far, so about 1/3 of the drama, but surprisingly I cannot get into it. The cast is good and the idea for the plot does not seem completely bad but for some reason I dislike a lot of the characters and the pacing and events feel off. I am mostly bored and skipping around a lot.
I cannot find it anymore either. At the time I searched for "husband" and this drama appeared but now it is not showing anymore. It has been 2 months since I last checked so they either removed it, completely changed its name to something that does not have the word "husband" in the title or it is just not available in our countries anymore.
they're aunt and niece. also no he doesnt sleep with the aunt but the twin brother did before he died. Dw i hate…
Ok, thank you for answering my question. I really wanted to watch this too but I had to make sure I was not getting into a weird trip. lol You never know with thai dramas. One of the most recent ones I watched had 2 characters that were married with a grown up son and later found out they were biologically uncle and niece, she was his brother’s daughter with one of his flings. - o -
I watched the teaser and there is so much slapping going on...even for a lakorn. It seems like the female lead here is everyone’s punching bag. Not sure if I will watch this one once its subbed.
I only have one question and I dont mind spoilers. Is he going to sleep (aka have sex) with both of them? If so I am out. I mean here it says they are mother and daughter and in the website that is subbing this they are aunt and niece. Either way they are blood related, they are family, so the male lead getting all cozy with both is not to my taste. Eww
She is not with either of them but it is strongly implied that Ja is going to wait for her and she seems like she will be giving in soon. Typical lakorn ending. The male lead can sleep around with the whole town, treat you like trash and then at the end he is a new man and the female lead goes back to him. I would rather have her be with the other guy or just go travel alone or something. Better alone than with the male lead.

I am currently watching Deja Vu.
