Oooh , I watched it today too . Long time no see ! How're you ?
Hi. You’re right, it has been 2 years I think. I am fine and you?
I watched this movie with my sister yesterday while having dinner. There was nothing good to watch on tv and then I remembered I had this movie on my plan-to-watch list for months. ^^'
It's really bad lol. From the acting to the plot to the editing ...
Really? I guess I will have to see it for myself since the 2 people that replied to my comment have very different opinions. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
First half of the movie was a little boring, the second half was hilarious. It felt like the movie started the way the first episode of a drama starts but then they remembered they did not have 16 hours on their hands to include everything they wanted and in the second half was where all the good stuff was. I wish there was more. The ML kind of reminded me of Mr. Bean at times. XD
Can someone explain why the average rating is so low? The story seems interesting, heartbreaking and something I would enjoy watching, but the low ratings are putting me off.
Japan is completely unpredictable. Sometimes they create dramas that are so well written that they break you and make you cry like a baby. Other times they make trash like this.
I feel like they were trying to give some sort of important message, which I more or less understood, but did so by using cardboard characters that were unlikable and not human like. The only character that I felt some sort of empathy for was Manabu. Everyone else I could not care about, including the female lead.
The ending felt like the writers tried to wrap their own poop with a fancy bow and offer it to us like it was some sort of treasure. Like, please, I am not that mother sister duo who have no brain cells. I am not taking your **** and saying thank you with a smile on my face.
Anyway, just go watch something else. This is most likely not worth your time.
People who gave this high ratings must be the same kind of people that know nothing about art but will go awww at a piece of junk put together in a museum just because someone told them it was created by a famous artist. But oh well, they also say a man’s trash can be another man’s treasure so...maybe they are right and I am just unable to appreciate this "masterpiece".
It is a good drama, just keep in mind that the romance is not the focus. Romance was even removed from the genres. It’s there, it plays a role, but it is not as important.
The focus is on school corruption, the rich trying to get away with everything with money and connections and honest people trying to clear their name and make all the corrupt people pay for their crimes. Also, about the importance of following your dreams, how negative it is for parents to put pressure on their kids and not actually listening to what they want, and so many other important and very real subjects.
I personally did not really feel the chemistry between the main leads and found the story quite boring. Another problem I had was how instead of having one nutjob (which would be bad enough), they had 2 - Nita and Venice. The ML’s friend was close to being one, but she wasnt as bad. There were only a few characters I liked.
I would have preferred for it to be focused on their relationship and them being together as a family rather than drag it like they did.
With that said, it was not all bad. There were some things I liked.
I don't know if this is the correct translation or not but i just read the synopsis for episode 29. Dan Dan is…
Yeah, I watched the preview and it seems like something along those lines.
I am just worried the writers will pull something like her having a one-night stand with Cha Gun and getting pregnant and then saying she is pregnant with YG to force him to marry her. Or even just faking the pregnancy since she is already used to making things up.
I know they won’t actually get married....probably....but I am afraid this engagement thing will drag for a while. Hopefully not because I would rather see more of DD, YG and the children.
After watching episodes 27 and 28...my first thoughts were right. They ruined what could have been a perfectly good drama by making it a 50 episode long drama instead of 16 or 20.
They just dont know how to keep the story going so they keep adding extremely cliché tropes and wasting screen time on supporting characters that I dont care about like the stepmother, the aunt, ....
If I could go back in time and call the shots on this drama I would be like NO, NO. This is going to be 20 episodes long, we are going to remove this character and that character, and that one too, tropes like amnesia, truck of doom and separation are not allowed...actually, just fire the writer. I will write the whole thing.
If you are going to end the show pretty much the way it started, at least give the viewers some valuable lesson or something. This was one of the most pointless dramas I have ever watched. That Japanese dramas can be weird sometimes is nothing new, but this is not weird, its more like it shouldnt exist, there is no reason for its existence, to be more clear....it is a complete waste of time.
Even short dramas need some sort of focus or logic but this felt like the writer just threw together a bunch of loose ideas that were never used in other dramas and made this whole mess. Because it had so much of everything but so little development to each of it, the result was a romance that was not believable, a comedy that was not funny, characters that were not consistent, a story that made no sense and an ending that was as random as the rest of the drama.
I have watched a lot of short dramas or dramas with silly plots in the past, but this one got be one of the most ridiculous I have watched. I just did not see what was the point of creating this and honestly, the actors time was wasted here.
If you want a fluffy romance or a funny drama, there are better dramas out there.
There were some sub-plots and characters that I could have done without and that made this draggy at times, but overall it was an enjoyable drama with a good amount of cute and funny scenes between the leads, but mostly focused on the struggles ice skating athletes go through and how much hard work they put into their training.
The FL was very well written and was probably the most interesting character of the entire drama. There were some other nice surprises, like the coach/male lead’s mother who seemed like a very strict and cold person at first but was so much more than what I expected.
So yeah, I recommend this drama even if you have to do some skipping, like when Xiao Qing is on screen. XD
I confess I felt bored several times...but I also loved how strong and cool the FL was and liked most of the other characters. But was that enough? Probably not.
I feel like this could have been much better. The plot was draggy and it was hard not to skip several times. Although I liked most of the characters, the plot itself was not that great so I understand why some people have given it ratings of 6.
I am actually going to abstain from rating it just because I am having a hard time deciding how I feel about this one. So I will let people who are more clear about what they think about this drama influence the average rating.
Ahh, A Good Supper. Another train wreck I will not forget for a while. Drama logic sometimes is everything but logical. Glad to know I am not the only normal person around here who is always questioning writers decisions. 🤣
This is problematic on many levels...but entertaining, as expected from Japan. lol Btw, am I the only one who thinks that if this was real life Rize would have died by episode 2?

It came out today so the ratings might be from people who rated it before even watching.
I will give it a try when I have time.
