I feel like this is a problem with many dramas, not just thai dramas. They add way too many characters. Like, I could probably count with both of my hands how many characters there were in this drama that I could not care less about. And it is not like they just show up here and there for some comic relief or anything, they actually steal 20 minutes or even more of the episode.

I liked the story, it was new and refreshing and the main leads were interesting. But like, I had to skip a bunch of scenes to even get to their scenes. There were some supporting characters that I liked, like the grandma, but most of the other characters I felt were just stealing screen time and it made my overall enjoyment of the drama be a lot lower than it could have been.

I wish writers would just realize we don't like too many characters fighting for our attention. Less is more.

I have finished this one and although it is nothing special, it was a smart move to make is short. Unfortunately…
Still, iqiyi only puts out auto-translated subs for very unpopular dramas and movies and it does not happen as often as mgtv. I have literally several dramas on-hold waiting for better subs because mgtv messed them up badly. And some of those dramas have very popular actors and interesting plots.

So mgtv kind of gets on my nerves more than any other streaming service.

Too many filler scenes. Should've been 10/12 eps!
Yeah, definitely. Also, there were subplots that were not well resolved or ever explained like the people around the male lead. What were their motivations? Where did they come from? Who are they?

It was almost like the writers kept adding stuff to the drama to make the 16 episodes format possible.

Yes yes...when they showed it at first, I thought they're just intimating, even so I was v disgusted. Then again…
Ok. I might have skipped that flashback since I was bored most of the time while I was watching this.

seeing that this is on seezn I dont think it's gonna get subbed just like another one called "Shh please take…
Just one tip: I complete almost every drama I watch because I hate leaving things unfinished so make sure to check that dramas page for my comments because some of the dramas that show on my profile as completed are not necessarily good.

I just have too much free time on my hands and watch pretty much everything. XD

I have given this a shot because of NHJ. But, this is really not my cup of tea I cant get past Episode 5. Everyone…
I have finished this one and although it is nothing special, it was a smart move to make is short. Unfortunately for whoever created this drama, as usual, MGTV gave us subs that even google translator is ashamed of.

So for me what made it pretty much unwatchable was not actually the plot but the horrible subs.

Yeah. Btw, your profile gif caught my attention since I loved The Romance of Tiger and Rose and after checking your profile I found we have a lot in common. I also think Zhao Lu Si makes any drama enjoyable and so does Park Bo Young, I especially liked her in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.

Vampire Knight was also one of my first animes and I remember reading the manga just to get some closure since they only made 2 seasons. Technically tho, if I go back to my childhood years, my first ever anime was Sailor Moon. I was born in 1994 and in my country it started airing around the year 1999 so of course the 5 year old me fell in love with it. ^^

My favorite genres are also the same as yours. If I ever want to pick the next drama to watch, I guess I will just visit your profile and check what you are watching. XD

About the kiss between the kids. I went back to watch the first episode since I did not remember seeing them kiss and in fact the actors did not kiss.

They show her touching his face and then they show her feet and him dropping what he was holding indicating she had leaned in to kiss him. And then it cuts to a full body scene that is very fast and it seems like the end of the kiss, but if you look closely, their mouths did not actually touch. I think they might have used the hold trick of kissing their own finger or it was a camera angle, but it definitely looked like a fake kiss.

But I agree with you when it comes to the plot. 16 episodes and most of the time I felt like nothing was happening.

As much as I loved the character of the male lead and their moments together, I found the plot to be very....empty? I am not sure how to explain this but I felt like in 16 episodes, which translated to around 16 hours, not much happened. This story could literally be told in a 2 hour long movie and nothing essential to the plot would have been lost.

However, I did like how they gave us about half of the last episode to show us the aftermath of everything and what happened with the main leads.

There are definitely some good things about this drama but the way the story was told and the supernatural elements were below my expectations.

So, to be completely honest, this is a drama I know I will never re-watch. Not even for the main leads.

Thai dramas are very different from Chinese and Korean dramas. I took some time to get into them and I remember…
No worries. I think I understood the main point. You liked both since they both were different and each had their positive points.

I will try to recommend you something but since I am busy right now, send me a message reminding me to recommend you some lakorns.

If I can share my thoughts about this, I would say I like the Chinese version. I'm not saying the Thai version…
I can definitely remember not being able to distinguish some Asian languages. The only one that I knew well was Japanese because of anime. Now I have studied all 3 - Japanese, Korean and Chinese. And Thai is so different with all the strong R sounds that dont really exist in most Asian languages. So I can never get these 4 confused now.

Yeah, Thai dramas almost feel like soap operas. I actually started with Kdramas in 2010, Chinese dramas probably a little bit after that and Thai dramas only around 2017-2018. But it goes back to my childhood. I remember watching Sailor Moon when I was a kid and because of that I became fascinated with anime and Asian entertainment, from anime it went to manga and from manga it went to watching my first Kdrama which was about cooking. At the time it got my interest since I had just started cooking school. After watching a few Kdramas I started to extend my interest to other Asian countries and the next was Chinese.

My favorite Chinese dramas are the historical ones for the same reason as you. Just love the costumes, stories, scenes, everything. ^.^

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think that is probably why I have the feeling I liked the Chinese version over this one. In general, I enjoy Chinese dramas over Thai dramas as Thai dramas tend to be more dramatic and over the top. I have watched quite a few good Thai dramas but I still find myself enjoying Chinese and Korean dramas more than Thai dramas. At the same time I could not say this one was better or worse as it comes down to personal preference. I think they were both well done.

Subs could be better but the drama itself is not bad. Would I watch it if it was longer? Probably not. But since its short it is a good watch for when you are waiting for other dramas to get subbed.

Haha. Ok. That one I didnt even add to my watchlist although I was heavily considering it. But thanks much!!!!…
Actually, she just restarted subbing a few days ago. Just checked after leaving that comment because I was wondering if she was still gone.

I was starting to think something happened to her, but since she is back at least I know she is alive, cant be sure she is doing well tho, we never know what happens in the personal life of subbers. Everyone has to deal with real life issues.
On Falling in Love Oct 23, 2021
I can think of a few Chinese dramas that are like 40 episodes long and that would have been better had they been this short.

Although not amazing, this is short and sweet. There is no time to drag the story so the pace is nice. A good watch for late at night when you dont feel like going to bed yet but cant stay up late either.

To be honest, it would not be the kind of drama I would add to my watchlist either but recently there havent been that many Thai dramas airing and Neko, who was one of the biggest subbers disappeared, so I gave it a chance.
