This seems like a movie that made into 6 episodes too long lol. It's pretty simple story, just revenge, no plot twist or crazy conspiracy. I enjoyed it. I knew this was based on a webtoon of how crazy the fights were, and also the MC not dying after getting stabbed so much. haha.
I love all the actors in here because I have seen all their shows. Honestly, it's crazy casting. All of them were once acted as a 'gangster' or 'bosses', so it's great to see such veterans reunion lol.
If you love those type of film or series, you should watch this. Nostalgia veterans are all in here!
1. My second time watching Zong Zuer, her acting is pretty good. China really doesn't lack in talents. 2. Liu Yu Ning is too good looking. 3. The generals and maids are a nice addition to add some personality to the show. Especially the advisor Mr Gongsun, he keeps telling the ML to apologize to his wife lol.
So far, the drama isn't too deep or scheming. I think it is just a right amount to watch and have fun with.
The drama should be its standalone from the novel, and treat it as an adaptation because that's what it is. Although I do understand non-novel readers perceptions regarding ML and FL doesn't have chemistry or feel loved. ML flirts alot of FL in the novel, and he basically caters to her, you can feel his love then.
But seems like the writer is wanting to add their own flavors and changed alot of events and characters, albeit keeping some key things of the plotline the same. I feel the novel readers' pain of not living the novel through drama. Hahah.
All in all? Just watch the drama as is, forget about the novel lol. You'll enjoy it more.
I think both can be enjoyable. I see JoL as the older brother who fights and has to navigate with court politics, much more dangerous, much more focus and mental energy. And GoD is the younger happy-go-lucky brother who is just enjoying his days and make some trouble here and there, with more comedy.

Her bruises in that episode were nasty ngl, but I didn‘t think she’ll be able to walk so fast after 1 day in the hospital lol. That fall is at least a few broken ribs! But what can you do, a girl gotta meet them phone calls quotas with the ML 🥹🥹🥹
Seems like the leads have superhuman healing factor because those bruises from episode 1-2, were gone within a day lol. But I'll give those details a pass.
Also Chae Soobin is distractingly beautiful. I can't focus @_@.
This is an Elder Sister romance-type of drama. The FML voice is so soft and soothing?? I think I'd fall asleep if she read me a bedtime story lol. Might just be her acting voice or dubbed.
It's a career/business drama with a hint of puppy love romance. The ML's mom is the greenest forest I have ever seen in any Son-Mom relationship drama I watched. She treasured and believed in her son so much. Additionally, it doesn't have the type where people think of evil plans to get rid of the love birds, if anything, it's just momentarily jealousy.
It's a healthy relationship TBH. Its cute. I recommend a watch. I honestly thought she was at least 30-35, she does not look 40.
I like how the drama was filmed, where the cast talks to the camera/answering questions as if they are the viewers and judging other participants. The way it filmed like a documentary. I think that's the first time I am seeing it in Kdrama. If it had been filmed recently in 2024 and the vibe is more like Twinkling Watermelon, Our Beloved Summer, etc, revise the script a bit, and it would of been a huge hit.
But anyhow, it was interesting. Not a bad watch. Ji Chang Wook is really good.

The drama pulled almost all the OG Kdrama trope there is: Chaebol, powertrip, cancer, memory lost, bad guy pretending to be husband, car crash, car accident, ML got shot protecting FL, hidden identity, divorce withheld after finding your spouse is sick, company stage coup, hidden will, grandparents sick or dead, money- lots of money. This brings back memories. I liked it. Lmao.
Honestly for new folks, just enjoy the show for what it is. Don't try to over complicate it. It's a Kdrama, it's silly.
Kim Ji Won is pretty. And Kim Soo Hyun is great in these roles, the doofus, comedic and romance. Similar to his It's OK Not to be OK. Always married to a crazy lady. lol
Wow. This series is definitely putting me asleep because I was a bad student and don't care about education. But the chemistry between the leads and how naturally they acted is keeping me awake. Veteran actors and actresses are something else.
That episode 7 and 8, how natural are they acting, they acted so well. Hospital Playlist level of acting.
This is the type of drama that you'll leave on in the background while doing daily routines. It's an office drama, as real as it gets lol. It's like watching your colleague, but in a drama if that make sense. Nothing too outstanding. Probably one of the most accurate situation, behavior and action from the ML and FL I have seen, maybe because I have seen this scenario in real life? lmao.
Anyways, it's an OK watch if you leave it in the background. The writer should of include something more thrilling to entice the viewers. Slap some faces, accidents, powertrips, revenge or other good old Kdrama tropes, and it would of been a bit more exciting.
The interaction between the leads is kinda cute. If you have time, definitely give this a go.

I have always wanted a drama with Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin together, because the way they act are so natural, it's crazy good.
I had only watched 1 trailer and didn't read any synopsis. Did the trailer baited me into thinking it would be something else? D:
I thought they'll be more into this 'Trunk' theme-mystery drama, but it ended up being the standard Kdrama trope; characters being broken due to past trauma, found each other and make up for what each other lacks- or whatever there is. Didn't go the way I thought it would, maybe that's why there wasn't a thriller tag.
Ah.. I wonder if it could have just been a normal rom-com series, I think that would of been fun with them 2 veteran actor/actress.
